YESSSSSSSSSSSS. Please send pollen for fem seeds😭😂😂
My first fem flip is going to be an auto in a few months. This is straight up reg seeds but happy to share the fem sherbet seeds from the herm too if u want em. 🤷‍♂️ Im gonna grow some out eventually for shits and giggles too lol 😆

So yeah...the hermie babies are ready

Ok so I'm not a breeder and definitely dont know a thing about genetics... yet. But I have a question.

Let's pretend I have 21 classic hybrids, new strains and whatever in bonsai, roughly half are male. I dont but... anyway so are F2's where the biggest phenotypes are expressed?

Because what would happen if all 21 strains got put together all as F2's? Would planting the end result of crossing all 21 strains as F2's produce anything insane as far as possible number of variants or would the variants be contingent upon the dominant traits of the final pairing of this hypothetical 21?

I don't exactly follow so let me ask you a few questions...

Do you mean like a big open pollination event? where you have 21 regular strains all with males and females that just let the pollen fly and everybody is having sex with everybody?

F2 means filial which is like Latin for siblings or whatever lol so only plants pollinatied by brothers or sisters make F2 seeds.

Breeding F1s from different strains together does not make F2s. It makes more polyhybrid F1s 👍

But ultimately you are correct thinking that F2 generations produced the greatest variety in genetic and phenotypic expression

Ok let me lay it out differently. I re-read that and it confused me. Not open pollination, but specific pairings. So I'd take a clone of each. Get them into flower. Pull the male when it gets into gear before the sacks start to get close to opening. Pollinate when the sacks open, paint brush method :)

Strain A x Strain B
Strain AB - F1
Male and female are selected and pollinated in the same manner.
Strain AB - F2

Strain C x Strain D
Strain CD - F1
Male and female are selected and pollinated in the same manner.
Strain CD - F2

Strain AB x Strain CD
Strain ABCD - F1
Male and female are selected and pollinated in the same manner.
Strain ABCD - F2

First can you please tell me I'd that is correct with respect to what an F2 is?

And second, would it be possible to see phenos from all of the strains that made up ABCD, or only the dominant traits of the plants in the AB x CD pairing?

Appreciate you handling pain in the ass questions :)))

So yes you are correct with your example of F2s and what that all means.

Your F2 selections from AB and CD will determine the phenos in ABCD. The F2 generation is the first to bring together the recessive traits inherited from the parents which technically come from grandma and grandpa, A , B, C and D

On paper it sounds like it would be all over the place but if that's what your going for to get the biggest variety you should have plenty to pick from

You can read more about it from the knowledgeable folks if you search poly hybrid cross

I want to start over with 100% pure landrace strains.. I have the Colombian, I just need to find a legit 100% pure indica male. No luck so far. My kid just got back from Afghanistan and didn't even bring me seeds. Wtf kids today....
