Thank you for getting back to me I think I’m a bit confused,

I had flushed down around 1000ppm which is what I was feeding prior.
this would of reset the media?
PH never changed during flushing, 1700ppm-1000.

what am I missing here?

thanks again,
If the pH stayed stable thats good. I would probably drop to about 800ppm.

This is coco in 1 gal pots feeding 10x a day at 250ml right now. Early flower.

Great thread with good information mate! I'm doing my first grow with 1gal fabric pots so still learning these new ways of growing, I'm 2 weeks into flower just moved up to 6 feeds in the 12 hour lights cycle.

My first feed when lights come on they need over a 1000ml to get run off and this ec comes out at 2.0+ec input is 1.6 with each feed after ec does start to drop. With your 10 feeds do you give some feeds while lights are off? Ive been a but unsure on this but I've grown in rdwc for 7 years and them roots always sit in water so surely a few feeds during lights off wouldn't hurt and maybe this would mean my first feed wouldn't be so much and the ec wouldn't be so hot on the first feed?

Loving the growth I get as well from multiple feeds per day, 15 years ago before I went hydro I started in coco in 15lt pots and fed once a day or every other day, when I switched to rdwc I loved the fast growing and extra yeild I got from hydro but then there was the downfalls of root problems sometimes. Since I've set this DTW system up the veg growth was very close to my rdwc growth and not having to check the rez ph and ec everyday as turned me into a lazy grower, not complaining tho now I'm a old man it's made my life easier haha

Yeah I toss one in the middle of dark cycle

Lol thats a very familiar.... very similar to what I found also

Absolutely nothing lazy about it. The plants love it ..it's almost like their bio rhythm gets in sync with the timers and the feed and they just go nuts. I only feed 6x a day in peak flower but I'm in 3 gal pots. Downsizing medium next run though. 👍

Im still only watering once ha..its 5 gal pot though.im running crazy runoff atm and that is the key ..2 ltrs in 1 ltr out..its wasteful but its kept ppm of run off 50ppm under or same going in..truthfully i could get away with once every 2 days.atm the saturation isnt dropping below 80% so bigger pots have more leeway but i like running more oxygen through ea feed.i might even start bubbling it before feed ..

Yeah I toss one in the middle of dark cycle

Cheers mate I'll rework my schedule to give more feeds, definitely no problem with root growth handling all these feeds 😁

Seems like I still have a little more work to do to get these dialed in... First feed I had to give close to 1000ml to get run off, next feed one and a half hours later, 500ml gave them around 40% run off, next feed another hour an half later 500ml gave them 20% run off, another hour an half later only 5% run off, so I'm guessing next feed will be next to no run off?

Not sure if I should increase feeds 3 to 8 from a 2 mins drip to 3 mins because after the first few feeds run off is less and less so I guess the plants really start drinking a lot after a few hours of lights on. I've also had to buy a Nearpow timer, lowest my timer goes is 1 minute but the Nearpow does seconds

Yeah thats the timer I use also... just take some tinkering once ya get it though its pretty simple. Just getting it dialed in the first time. Then just small adjustments through the grow.

Yeah I'm writing everything down so that I remember for the next run. Once the new timer is delivered I can add seconds in to the feeds to fine tune the run offs👌🏼

Lol figured I'd post here too just to show the stalk size in a 1 gal coco and they are still just chugging along. Yeah I dont think i will need to go over 1 gal for my setup. These are vegged way longer than I will be doing in the future.

LOL that's crazy! I think this way of growing definitely blows the saying 'more roots more fruits' out the water....

Have you got a basic shopping list for that set up please bud, not links to the items, just what's needed to set up from scratch, not the table etc, just the tank/pump/pipes/tubing any seals or grommets etc etc. Just when you have time. Cheers

I might have to invest in a bigger water barrel too... Filling my 600lt barrel every 5-6 days at the moment to feed 19 plants, I'm also thinking about adding co2 for the next run so no doubt this will increase water intake as well 😂

Sure. Think this link covers it.

I went with a 40 psi diaphram pump and 360 sprayers instead of open ended. I really like them. If anything missing just hit me up and ill answer the best I can.

Thanks mate, I'll give it a read with a coffee and note book in the morning. I'm getting too long in the tooth for humping water about.

Its really basic. I can do 24 plants with this setup. I use a 20 gal res but prob go bigger next go around. Some 1/2 pvc, diaphram pump, risers, manifolds, 1/4 irrigation tubing, 3/4 hose and some glue. Pretty sure you can do it less than $150 or there abouts.
