O.K. so like the title says. I really wanna start making rosin out of at least half my crop. Around 8 ounces every few weeks I can squish... Anyone have any recommendations? I've seen and read about the hair straighter method but...I think I produce a little to much for that technique... What's the next level up? I've seen presses for like $500-$600 online, that's pretty pricey for me to justify to the wife as she hates when I dab...lol I was thinking I could spend like $250-$300 for a press without to much flack.

haven't used them but I think the smaller 4-500 units would be best. ive been reading up on them for a few months now. its either that or take the same budget and diy build one from scratch.

does your lady not like the torch? lol
your talking flower rosin?
or wash fresh frozen flower to make into hash rosin?

Depends on if you wanna do hash rosin or flower rosin. Hash rosin you can get away with a smaller press and plates but you'll need bubble bags or some method for creating the hash to press. Harbor Freight shop press and a set of caged lowtemp plates is about the cheapest way to a high quality setup that I've seen.

Yes hash rosin and flower rosin, but probably mostly hash as I will use mostly sugar shake and larf to make said rosin...Probably best to get some bubble bags first huh? Anybody got any recommendations for them? lol That'll probably open a whole other can of worms...

Its not the torch she don't like, she says they are just to potent and I get to stoned..lol Like there's a such thing...lol

Thanx man...makes sense that if I make bubble hash and squish that I can use a smaller press. Never thought about that. What you think for bubble bags?
I’d go with bubble bags for making hash from shake and trim, or Alibaba does also sell presses for a fraction of brand names. My .02¢
What bubble bags you recommend? Alibaba.. hmm didn't think about the ..China connection. Maybe the route I take for a press...

lol gotcha, my lady started dabs on e devices because she didn't like the torch. also she never smoked before me in general, so I get that. but now she doesn't mind, I just heat it up for her lol

thats what I want to do in the future, eventually press my own rosin an make bubble hash. loveeeeeeeee me bubble hash

From personal experience don't get an overpriced press because it's all for the logo man I'm super happy with my hydraulic press and 3×7" plates but like I said go for an amazon press 3×5" is perfect for bottle tech method and even further than that you can get a hand press if you only plan on pressing a few nugs they all work good honestly my buddy has low temp plates and that's expensive but I could say maybe not worth the 900$ if your able to sacrifice space for a hydraulic press Soo 900$ just for it to be compact? I don't think so haha

Just picked these up for my first extract attempt :) just arrived today

@ReeferRon take the adventure with me! I’m doing it tomorrow and I’ll show the results on my last diary :)

Like that bubble hash it’s just a lot of work unless you automate it I can press an ounce in 15 mins if I want , with minimal effort 1 st is my favorite- low temp no bag low pressure wax then number 2 is higher temp 205 maybe and more pressure with a bag bho quality no chem taste pure pot

Now that's what I'm talking about! I would love a little of both types..as of now I'm still dabbing bho, so those are a step up for sure!

So if I purchase the heated plates for $269 from amazon I will still need the press from harbor freight?(https://www.harborfreight.com/12-ton-shop-press-33497.html) I seen one there for like $140...that's like $410..what else would I need to start squishing? I could probably just about justify spending that.. I will need to kiss some major wife ass in the meantime... sink full of dishes here I come! (What a man will do for a dab or two.)

I paid 40$ for mine used I’d check Craig’s list offer up etc.

If your doin bigger qty for sure but if your only squishin 7 g’s or less what’s the benefit ?
Dual elements as well ( less time to heat up )

I've only twice wished I had a smaller tractor.
