I recieved the spider farmer 1000 kit this weekend for review. I took a day and set it all up, with a white widow seedling I've prepped just for this review.

My initial impressions are, this is a decent kit! Pretty much everything you need to start growing.

The tent is well made and has no major light leaks at all. I like how it's a bit bigger than 2x2 and 5ft tall. Makes things much easier.

The 4" fan and filter combo is good, it comes with a fan speed controller that you will need, since the fan they give you is more than you need.

The light fixture is very well made, bright and has all the beat brand name parts. Installation was very easy.

Extras include 4 felt pots, a scrog net, a timer and a couple of hanging kits.

It all came in a single box that was well packaged and easily setup.

My initial impressions are: Impressive!

Just a quick update. Today I topped the plant again to get everything to the same level.

Soon I'll get a net in there and train it out!

So far, everything is great. Cant wait to see what this fixture can do!

Put the net in today, should only be a couple weeks till I flip it over to flower 👍

I'm going to see if I can get away with the little usb fan blowing over the canopy, or just crank the exhaust fan. I'll keep an eye on it. So far everything is good.

So far this setup is doing quite a good job. The tent is actually bigger than the light is rated for, so I will not be filling the entire net. I will keep it centered under the fixture, i will be using no supplemental lighting.

How big is the tent?

Sorry man, I didn't mean to hurt your feelings. I was just trying to help you.

Oh I see what you're talking about, sorry I forget irrelevant information easily.

You still think that this plant is growing slowly cause it's too cold in my house. 🤣

My house is heated, the thermostat is set at 21. The lowest this tent has ever got was 19.5 during lights out. The average lights on temperature is 24.5. Highest temp is 25.5

In veg, I only water/feed every 3 days. As I'm in no hurry, and I dont want to waste nutrients. Toward flower I ramp up feeding to every 2 days. Then in flower, every day.

While I thank you for your concern, and your want to "help" me out. Maybe in the future you should make sure the person needs and wants your help first? Otherwise you just kinda look like.... well I'm not gonna say it. I'm sure you understand. 👍

20 mins after lights on, time to tuck everything under again. 👍

Soon I will be switching to water/feed every 2 days, I'll have to tuck them away daily soon.

So far this setup is doing good, the exhaust fan is only on about 1/3 speed, the sf1000 is cranked max bright and set about 16 inches away. In flower it will need to be 12 inches away to get the ppfd I need. I can tell already that the usable footprint will be smaller than the tent dimensions.

Normally I would fill a net to the edges, but without supplemental lighting the tent is just a bit too big for the fixture at 27.5 inches square.

I think 24x24 would be a better footprint for this fixture, as they advertise.

The fan is a bit louder than the leather wrapped metal ones that I'm familiar with, but not outrageous. I will place it in the tent next time I use it though.

For someone that just wants to buy a kit and start growing, this would be a great place to start.

Well I thought it might be. Just looks like it hasn't grown much in 2 weeks. Don't know what else the problem would be. Maybe the leaf temps need to come up to 27-28C or so. Or maybe its just the strain. GL

I also think you would have more progress with higher temps. You’re at times under 70F.

At lights out or after leaving the tent open for a while yea. As it should be.

Do you not believe me when I said my average lights on temp is 24.5?

The plant has been here for 13 days and has been topped in that time. It's been fed and watered every 3 days.
Do you honestly think its growing too slow? Over the 13 days of its existence?

What problem? You say there is a problem, yet I don't see one. Did you miss where I topped it?
