Hello guys

Need recommendations

Budget 375/450

I have a 4 - 5 gallon bucket system as now, if I upgrade it till be another 8/10 gallons at some point.

Let me know

So I’ve realized I need a 1/4 hp unit

Any recommendations ??

What are your water temps? That plays a big part

I live in Chicago so I go through all sorts of weather

I have a 50 pint in 4x8 and that produces tons of heat. As snow is defrosting it’s given tons of problems as it kicks on hard and im last 8/10 days of flowering

I keep my air temp at 77f day n night. My water is been 69-75f (75f was highest it ever was, normally 73 max)

Yesterday I was tossing in handfuls of snow

I typically use old plastic containers filled up with ro water if I get above 73f. Toss in one and it brings it down 2.5f or so

this my first run with the room n rdwc, But lots of tent in garage experience, I’m upgrading to a mini split ac in summer.

Honestly I ran mine 72-73f on purpose... faster growth.. have you seen any negative effects or just want to fox because of the numbers?

This is a smaller one Ill use. This is a picture from 6 days back.

Garage insulated with r8 everywhere

I had this 5k Btu ac setup before, when dehumidifiers run they kill it

I don’t envision my buddy being able to build into my r7/drywall/1/8ply room

I have a buddy whose build 35 + rooms. He’s a good friend and build my rdwc from scratch

I’ve never ran a rdwc, just soil. I aim 78f air n 68/70f water.

I keep a old gallon of milk in fridge of ro I’ll pour into Tupperware in freezer for good ice to control things

The grow went excellent for 7wks than haywire

I’m back on track but the damage is done looks n will cost me 30% in total weight I feel

I’m down to 450 ppm, pretty much uc roots n kool bloom

Imo 70-74f is a nice place to sit... but you need to use a live ir sterile system. I prefer live and the bacteria do much better in those temps. But this is true of all bacteria and the plants... it will speed up metabolism and growth but likewise infections or bad bacteria if you get them. So good bennies are important. Cold temls don't stop infections or bad bacteria or pythium it just slows the metabolism so it doesn't affect the plant as fast.. bit also slows the plants metabolism.

I’m day 61 of flower

2 lemon haze, 1 pink runtz. I have 720 watts of light

I’m just setting up for months ahead, no way possible to get away without a chiller n real ac

Yeah I rarely went over 600ppm in mine and that was with co2 which usually means a slightly higher feed

My 700w heater n 200w heater are currently mounted on 2x4 on ground n close to buckets. (Just up and away from bulkheads in event of total water loss)

So my water n air temp closely tied

I’m doing something totally different next but still not 100% sure what

Being the interior is durafoam board, what would you do?

I can wall mount a 240/1000w heater but the close plant would be fuct ?? Ceiling mount not ideal either??

Here are a few pics so u can see setup

I plan on 1/4hp chiller n my room builder buddy has an extra small mini split for cheap

Most pics are old but u can see how big n what a bitch my dehumidifier is

Cut holes to fit the buckets so the rest on the concrete... and the res on concrete then use an aquarium heater to set temp... much cheaper.
