its true that testers can show confirmation bias but these tests the old guys ran were not for a company like you are ranting about. And all the current info matches his published results. Uv, far red, plants in dark, more than one in a pot, veg time, etc. even cannabanoid info has no advanced much from what is in his books

they also were the ones who started crossing plants for more potency. And we wouldnt have medical weed without those old cannabis scientists.

And there are a couple phd’s in my family. They happen to be smart enough to know when they dont know. And dont go ranting about it. ;-)
Im not talking about particular study's just them in general...its obvious theres way too much bias...not advanced much...lol...there arent/isn't alot of actual sciencing going on in the canna industry. Yeah you see some coming out. But has any light mfg gone toe to toe like pepsi and coke? I havent seen it! Lol the reasearch they did in the 90's is fucking outdated quit talkin about it....the past has value except for the fact it repeats itself.....parrots!

But then again capitalism destroys competition and always will! With that said your neighbor could grow healthier weed than you test his and yours and he could not advertise to the public, away from his land, and tell your customers whats in the weed u grow versus his. In other words capitalism has helped unhealthy products onto the market and you cant notify the public about it...there is a way around this......an unaffiliated entity could start a website test all the farms you can and expose them for what they really are...i smell class action lawsuit! Civil lawsuit whatever...

I highly doubt they were the first the cross high potent pot...gtfo! Just sounds fucking stupid..they were crossing powerful pot before america was amerika...lol...you dont think they were breeding high quality pot in the middle east and se asia? Just cuz your history book dont say it doesnt mean they werent doing it...ill bet that master race of people in the middle east over there by the dead sea stole the history and plant from these other folks and made it their own...im not a bitch made sheep...check yourself boi! Gtfo.

I think LED's are the way of the future no question, issue right now is cost, once the good ones come down in price then i think more people will make the switch. but there is still differences

If we're talking high end led's they can't be compared to single end hps they have surpass them . maybe not cheap knockoff ones but higher end ones I think so.

Do the high end led's surpass the high end DE hps. Thats the question I've been trying to answer, and i'm not so sure. I think it really depends on how one looks at it

the differences between the LED's and DE hps for me are this, cost, my high end DE hps are 1/4 the cost, for every one led I can get 4 DE hps. so how many lights one runs is a factor, different plant growth and structure between the 2 , depend on how you view that one maybe a positive one maybe a negative, veg and flower time, I do think DE hps is faster maybe 3-4 weeks faster over a entire grow. so for every 3-4 ish led grows you'll get an extra DE hps grow in the same time. power consumption Led wins that battle, but if your running your LED's extra time/weeks to do the same grow it may not win by as much as it looks on the face of things. For yield I see really no difference. I think the higher end led's have caught up to DE hps, however there is some variables I'm not sure of like in bigger rooms. amout of fixtures, cross lighting etc thats a whole other subject lol. plus room environment differences etc. so I'm not sure there is a clear cut one is better then the other.

Uuggh...unfollowing. What a snooze fest. Everyone knows LEDs suck ass and are highly over rated. The only people that start these threads are the people that are making them and trying to sell them.
Well - I'm having amazing results with the SF2000 & SF1000. Used to use the old HPS & MH but the heat and noise from the extraction fans, ducts everywhere just a mess. These are low profile and effective so far.

the best sativas were tested at 3-7% thc in the 70’s. And you should read a lot more before making such blanket statements. Tons of cannabis research being done today. Here and all over the world. Especially about cannabanoids, terpenes and their medical effects on our bodies. The weed specific product sellers muck up the real info to profit immediately but education marches forward. You are aware there is a working cannabis lab in the university of utah? They study and test every aspect of the plants and new apogee light meters are now being produced to meter wider par range because of the testing. Just so the professor can meter the proper light frequencies that are wider than previously thought.

When i bring up rosenthal or others like him its because the current debate on a thread was likely answered 40 years ago. ;-)

So you're in denial or spent serious $$ on the old stuff

huh? It was a joke. Its Kitty drinking a pitcher of margaritas to cope with the led buying decision. :-)

i bought top of the line hps stuff years ago for low prices. And even with bulb replacements i still havent paid enough to have purchased a pair of new led lamps of the same quality. Freakin’ things are way overpriced like smart phones.

Sorry, Could't see the pic. I payed about $300 for the SF2000, figured that the money saved for not having to buy cooling equipment, hoods etc.. could be worth a try. It's so simple this way and working great so far

Timber cobbs are just that an overly priced diy shit show!

the owner of timber was part of the company that originally re purposed light boards into the quantum board lights today. He says the cobs were consistently better for our purpose and stopped selling boards. Hlg and timber’s owners started this whole full spectrum led industry in threads on another forum.

And timber offers the best price on good bar lights as far as i know. They market those for shorter spaces and cobs for regular spaces.

Its all just a matter of right tool for the job even though sellers will have you believe one is “best”.

For sure, I'm using just a 2 x 4 tent so these light are sufficient for my needs. I live in the south so hot all the time. My main concern is heat control, a lot easier with LED's

but that lamp is only half of the replacement i would need for only one of my hps kits that cost only $350 with ballast and original bulb.

And for the $600 i can get an hlg and not finance another countries economy. Which is important to me.

They are made in China!! not happy about that. If they were made here they'd be twice the price. They do last for 50K hours so they say!

lol I'd like to see a better looking diy cob fixture lol. The heat sink like that offers more surface area and allows air to flow through but you guys are growing weed and complain about a few hundred dollars it boggles my mind. Also granted most parts may be made in foreign countries atleast you support North American manufacturing jobs and better attention to detail, than some 8 year old kids getting 4 pennies an hour. Buy a hlg or timber. This forum makes me want to put my head through a wall, like toy posted a picture of a baby plant and say "well I get good results" LAUGH MY FU***** ASS OFF".
