Can anyone explain why fast drying isn't good. If bud is tried in a dark place with tons of air moving causing it to dry quick in a day or two, and then cured properly, would that still be harsh bud?

I have had some nugs to experiment, and with good amount of airflow it dries in like 16 hours. So that's why I was just asking.

Fast drying can lock in chlorophyll... And IMO when this happens, no amount of slow curing can get that leafy taste to properly smooth out.

12/12 Day 53

OG started its flush day 53, 3 days shy of 8 weeks. The reason I am flushing the OG a bit early is because in case the PM attacks hard again, OG seems to be the main victim for the PM.

Himalayan gold is going strong and adding on some weight. While I was removing a sack of nanners, I noticed some pollen fly into the room, this was 2 days ago, so far I don't see any seeds starting, I am really hoping it this tranny is sterile.

None the less, the HG looks huge and potent, and OG looks like it put on some weight everywhere, I really like the little flower action the OG has going on.

Fucking awesome update!!! The HG is HuGe!!! Btw, I think it's safe to say we have diff cuts of OG... Yours is much large w/a slightly diff bud and leaf structure... ;)

Thanks RJ, I am really glad that I waited. Well at least I did my best of adding a lot of fans to deal with PM, i am very happy with that choice.

All the OG nugs look very similar and ready, but the nug in picture 4 still has a lot of white hair, it is very close to the light but still seems immature compare to other nugs.
Any thoughts on that.

I kind of want to take the Himalayan Gold to day 70, cuz I think it has potential to put on more size.

I think my OG is already pretty big for a lot of other OGs I have seen, I did train it, but with even more training it would have yielded more.

I would really appreciate if anyone could give some input on which OG I got.

Here are some testers which I pulled off on day 51, before the flush started. They seem fully dried in 4 days, the grassy smell is less intense, the real OG smell seems to be coming on though very slowly. I will practice my curing on these 2-3 grams to figure our the right timing to nail the smell and taste.

You guys need to know about this. I successfully cloned some grapefruite haze and blue dream. I took 2 of each from a friend who was on 12th day of flowering.

All four of the clones rooted in 5 days, not small roots either, roots at least 6 inches long. I can see the roots through the clear plastic wrapped inside.

I always take cutting in rockwool, but since I came across these randomly I didn't have time to pre soak the rockwool, so I thought fuck it I'll just try taking cutting in coco.

I cut small 250ml clear plastic water bottles in half, only used the lower half of each bottle. Poked some holes in the bottom. filled with botanicare coco, flushed it with a mixture of Great white 1 scoop/gallon, H&G roots 1.2ml/gallon, liquid karma 8ml/gallon, shiva A/B at .8 EC, 1 tbsp/ gallon of molasses. I dipped the stem into liquid clonex rooting gel and poked it to 3/4 the depth of coco.

COCO CLONING forever for me. LOL didn't even use a humidity dome and worked almost as fast or even faster than ez cloner, bubblers, aero cloners etc. and it was literally the simplest way to clone.

Anyways, I think your OG cut looks similar, but is slightly different. Maybe it's the camera angle or the fact that you are using coco & much larger pots than I. Either way, your cut looks great... Nice big colas and nugs!

The jar is what brings out the smell. Basically what happens is when you have dried your buds to the point where moisture has completely left the stem, hence the SNAP that people are looking for, you throw it in the jar. Although the bud is smokeable and probably looks pretty good, the bud actually still has moisture in the center. When it's in the jar the very small amount of moisture along with the high humidity creates a certain form of bacteria that eat the chlorophyl and take out the overpowering "grass smell." In turn the true smell of the marijuana comes out. The longer it's in the jar, the better it's going to get, up to a certain point. You can eventually get all, or 99.9%, of the moisture out of the bud and at that point you get crumbly weed. I would say 2-4 weeks is your window of jar time. Remember in the beginning to open the jar for about 30 minutes 3 times a day for like the first week. Hope this helps you get that dank ass OG smell out of your bud bro.
