Yeah those bags are double the price here, however the Canna coco brick here is like $24 for 40 liter and the quality is supposeed to be good so I might give them a try
See if you can get Niski japanesse grow wool could be cheaper maybe and that stuff is great to use as well if I could get it I would use it in summer and coco in winter 🤜🤛👻🚂

Thanks man but I don't think I can get that in Canada, I've been looking around and i can get bags of Canna coco 50L for $40 so I think what I might try is 4 gallon pots with a 60/40 mix of coco to perlite see how that goes and then adjust from there.

The tops are good to trim it sucks but it is enjoyable looking at The end product it mainly the small stuff that's drives u crazy but I let dry the small stuff and as I sweat it out open and closing garbo bag I can crumb most of it off in bag and use my fingers removing it off or stick in trim bowl 😎🥳🤯👻🚂
I've realized in THIS thread, I still have plenty to learn, especially with other methods than mine.
I'm comfortable with the ways I do things, and get results most question.
The 2 things I've got going
1) I don't get larf (well much, if any), as I'm very good at training my plants, but don't go by my SCROG pics too much. I'll bag, and freeze anything not prime on thoes.
My plants, when growing my way, will either throw up 1, or 4 colas..SOG will be 1.
My regular commercial way will always be 4 heads, and I am diligent on getting rid of all "sucker" branches that will take energy from the mains, and just as important make trimming MUCH easier (IT STILL SUCKS 😀)

I also will only work with strains I've bread, and selfed. If they're too leafy, they're gone.

Here's a pic of the Colorado cut of Taho OG at harvest. It just barley made 2 per, as the buds were rock hard. It was sought after, so that helped.
The ave of 32 oz per table was bare min. I had better genetics, so although it was an "easy" trim, it wasn't worth breeding witg, or keeping.
They stayed short for my grows (5 ft or so).
Looking at it, I did not think I'd hit my min yield #.
It was an 8 week straun, so it was was it was.
The pic below is more like it, except Choc D (S cut) will foxtail a bit in summer. In winter you would swesr it was a different strain

Choc D is listed as "legendary", and all but disappeared.
I never seen anything like it. The strain got sick on everyone I knew who had it, and was growing it.
I never seen anything like it. I'm almost positive it was the water.
I began using RO, and saved 6 cuts

Don't forget clay balls or hydro ton they call it

Fox tailing is from PK at wrong times and the temp when lights out if u don't get a 10c drop in room temp when lights are out they trip out as temp is same if lights are on so it doesn't know if to grow or bud 👌👻🚂

Here's a cup grow of the Coc D. I hit a zip every cup. Styrofoam, hempy style 100% pearlite.
I know I've shown the cup pics (below) easiest trim ever. You can see the cups up against the wall. I zap about a week after putting in cups. It has a great stretch, and fills in beautifully

Yes. That was a summer grow, and was fighting temps, and stretched too close to the light. Other than that, it wss epic

I love the look of you strain! I salivate! Seriously, that's not common for me.
In your environment, it would be almost impossible to train so you don't get larf.
It would be more work than trimming.
I don't mind getting rid of my prime bud, but it would be nice to have the lower section have the quality of yours

If a plant has a problem with a disease it will resin early slowing down the growth till it's healthy again as a defensive measure making resin as a first aid e.g. like when mold inside bud starts u can feel the resin trying to stop infection resin production is when it starts on set on bloom e.g. the resin sacks so it can protect the seeds if pollinated like a egg so seed can use it to grow if plant is sick but when the seed is bigger the resin stops production and focusing on the seed self survival 🤜🤛👻🚂

Its been years since I ran Coco I know the last time I ran it I never used the hydro ton under the coco, but since you mentioned it I can think of its benefits, i'm sure in your experience with it your seeing a definite benefit to using it as not.

I never used Hydroton either.
If I were in Canada, with nice cool weather, id be in rockwool all year.
When I usd rockwool, ill use an 8 inch block, sourounded by crutons of rockwool.
I always soak my rockwool for 48 hors at 5.3 ph, with Pleanty of 02 in the water.

lol you had to go and say that, I'm conflicted now, Here is what I realized in this thread I'm bored being a keep it simple stupid grower in sunshine. I want to get back to something a little more challenging something I can play with a bit a drive growth. I've been debating Coco or uni-slab, and I think I'm set on Coco, As soon as this grow is done in a few more weeks I'm not going to be running anymore this summer, I have to go to VA in august so probably not running until sept. and my thoughts are going forward that if I do, do coco I may not run in the summer anymore anyhow. summers can get hot here we just had a week of like 90 to 95F temps, but were back down to 70-80's for now anyhow

Here's a story that proves your statement.
I was living in NY on LI, and we had a hurricane about week 4 of flower on a beautiful Cheese plant.
It made it through 4 days of darkness, and when the power came back, it seemed to have continued where it left off.
It didn't seem to lose much trich coverage, and everything seemed to be normal. I figured, if anything it would finish early.
70 days later (on an 8 week strain) it finally finished.
It was the 1st time I grew Cheese (a pheno of Skunk). It smelt like fruit then entire time.
Anyway, after 33 months in the jars, pure parmisan. It was rather weak, but great for smokers who would normally get paranoid.
Well, that was a strange, but great learning experience

With all mediums u wash it once in pot to flush it clean and set the ph at 7.0 ssoit starts at neutral stage then pre load the medium with food so when planted it is set ready to feed as takes a bit of time for nute levels to set in and that's why at first they have signs of deficiencies 👻🚂

They're both great mediums. I like rockwool, as I feel I can view the roots better, and less waste.
I do use reuse my coco. I'll mix it with cheap soil for veggies, or whatever.
A bag of coco is costing $40 a bag now? Wow, I think I was paying $27 just a few years ago for a bag of Canna.
As for coco nutes, why? I'll go 6-9 lucas with 1 ml cal msg per gal. I can't complain about the results I get.
I don't think id reuse a medium for cannabis, but now thst im thinking. Why not?

U can use it up to 3 times but u need to run a cannazym or other brand the same I use biozyme that breaks the roots down and turns it to sagur for plant to use and a plant takes nutes in processes it expel the nute to a enzyme and eats it again leaving the e.g. shit as well so run off is that important to flush that out while the emyze s cling to the roots as a protect like aqua man said about fish a slimy coating on roots that's why when lower ph it produces more enzymes to over come the acid in ph so that's why it comes out higher in run off as it builds the Rhizo in pot to protect the root zone
