The best way I can drscribe it is, breaking up the soil that is around the root system from the smaller container before transplanting it into the larger container. If your familiar with bare root transplanting where seedlings are exumed from a seed bed and then transplanted into their new beds no pots used at all, your kind of hitting the spot between bare roots and placing the undisturbed pot into the next container.
