Yesterday was up-potting day, good times!

I'm not the biggest fan of the Vivosun 1gal pots with the velcro straps. I love the idea but I wish the slit down the side was bigger or they put another one on the opposite side. As it was I felt like I still had a hard time getting my plants out and ended up cutting two of the pots anyway. No big deal though all things considered.

Tent049

These 3 gallon pots seem pretty big once filled and watered, damn.

As you can see little Peggy didn't make the cut just yet. I was planning to transfer her along with the rest but I ran out of RO water. I could have filtered some more water right then but it got me thinking about Peggy and whether or not I want to keep her. She's so small and super dense - I believe she has dreams of becoming a pine cone some day. I'd hate to ditch her in case it turns out there's a male in the bunch or some other disaster befalls one of the other plants, so I think I'll keep her around a little longer.

Tent050

I followed the up-potting with a new round of LST (minus Peggy).

Tent051

And here they are this morning all puffed back up after yesterday afternoon's business...

Tent053

They were all topped about week and a half ago (minus Peggy again), so my current LST plan is to bend the main stem to one side and then direct the two new main stems back around the edges of the pot. Here's the best pic I have to demonstrate what I'm thinking:

humidifier and dehumidifier.

pots - they have bag ones with Velcro so you can easily up-pot.

i was given the advice to plant the same strain at first. they would be the same height and would have the same needs... mostly. and with one big light you cant raise and lower on each one.

you sound like the type who would enjoy setting things up on a smart system. get smart plugs and smart sensors for temp and humidity and even lux, you can control it all with Alexa, or google - or like me, the cheap way, with ifttt (if this then that). you can spend lots! and start setting it all up now, getting your tent to maintain a temp range when lights off and then on. they even have smart floor vents for the furnace so you can control your room more accurately. so much to spend money on! and you can do it as you wait.
You're doing a great job. prepare your gnat fungus strategies including but not limited to sticky paper/neem oil tray/. Be proactive with spider management when they start building their nest and flying around your plant it will give you the shivers. Print out the next few months of calendars with exactly what you think is required by what you've read including drying and caring. Coconut water every 3 weeks during flower & Epsom salts. You are on a journey. Peace and leaf.

I have noticed this coloration on some of the fan leaves since up-potting, or at least I didn't notice it starting prior to the last few days. Any tips on what this might be? I'll post a list of grow details so anyone who might be trying to diagnose this pic doesn't have to search through my entire thread (because they won't, and I don't blame them.

Day 33
Grown from Seed: 3x GDP and 3x BBK (both Indica dom hybrids)
Soil: 3gal pots w/ CoM Stoneington Plat Blend unamended (One is still in a 1 Gal pot)
Lights: ROI-680 18/6 @18-20”, @680W, 380 to 420 PPFD across the canopy
Temps: 77F Lights-on-Day, 75F Lights-on Night. 69F Lights-off.
Humidity: Between 55% and 65% depending on the day, usually closer to 65%.
Watering: Homemade RO water only. Been waiting for soil to seemingly dry fully and for some drooping leaves before watering.

could be light stress or it’s time to start adding some organic nutrients.

Thanks, but because this is my first grow I've decided to not to include pests or plant diseases to keep things simple. 😉

Thanks very much. I just up-potted them to the 3 gals two days ago so I would think they'd still be well supplied on the organic nutes. Maybe I kept them in the 1 gal a little too long?

Light stress wouldn't surprise me either as over the course of the grow they seem to prefer much less light than my cheat-sheet was suggesting. I'll give the entire grew a close inspection today when I'm watering today, double check everything on my lighting and then adjust accordingly.

Thanks very much!

And here's the whole crew as of a few minutes ago. They pretty much all have this going on to some degree or another.

Since I adjusted my lights I have been at 36 inches above canopy at 40% power. I know you have the master controller so you have more control over intensity, what percentage do you have them at?

Yellow between veins... mag deficiency?
I noticed you are using RO water. Are you adding cal/mag?

I had the exact same problem on one of my plants and it turned out to be cal/mag deficiency. I used distilled water because our well water is sky high ppm and had to start adding cal/mag every watering, which solved that problem.

FWIW, I also recently started using the water from my dehumidifier. Did a bunch of research beforehand and everything is fine since, still adding cal/mag every watering. I had been making my own distilled water, which is somewhat a PITA, but better than buying it at the store. The distiller heats up the room it's in and works well, but if I could save electricity by using the dehuey water, all the better.

The master controller seems to handle percentages differently than what's printed on the manual knobs. Prime example being that the lowest setting in the master controller is 50%, with the lowest on the knob setting being 40%. On the master controller they link the percentage directly to wattage, so right now I'm at 68% or 680W per the controller. (don't mind the high humidity and slightly high temps, I had the tent open for a long time this morning).

My lights have been averaging between 18" and 20" above the canopy, and per the PAR meter in the pic below that's been getting me around 360 to 420 PPFD across the top of the canopy.

Tent059

I just did a little test and turned my knob to 40% to bypass the MC and took some more reading. They were very close to my 68% but averaged a few digits lowers across the canopy.

No cal/mag, I have only been using RO water that I've made here at home with an RO Buddy.

I checked out our local water report and saw that we're using that additive that makes chlorine more stable and less likely to gas off, Chloramine if memory serves. I've heard anecdotal reports that using RO water and Stoneingtons Plat would would be enough, but perhaps not in my case.

Neat idea about the dehumidifier water. Mine uses a pump to drain but it still usually leaves the reservoir mostly full and there to dump or use.

I would trust your par meter over the one I currently test with. I am confused by the master controller though. Could it possibly be configured incorrectly? It shows you at 68% on a 1000W fixture on the first picture. I ask more out of curiosity than anything for my own upgrade path.

It does look like it shows 680W on the second picture though

If user error is a possibility, then I have probably already done it. I thought I had changed that setting but didn't even notice when I took the pics. Let me go press some buttons real quick :)

ok i don’t think your light is the problem, looks to me like it may need magnesium?
better wait to see if we get a few replies confirming this..
also tap water is fine to use, is something wrong with yours?
