So I know there are a lot of outdoor growers like myself out there. Is there a consensus on defoliating. I would think if it's light that drives photosynthesis and photosynthesis nutrient uptake wouldn't you want to have as many large leaves as the plant can safely support? Of course taking into account pests, mold and other pathogens that can turn things in the wrong direction?
I leave them on until they turn yellow and go limp unless they are affecting airflow then I’ll open the lower and middle as needed WPM is a bitch!

Outside, the leaves are needed to protect against stress, since outdoor environment can’t be controlled. I prune really well, eliminating branches and buds that will never be anything special. Then that otherwise wasted energy will go to other flowers, hopefully eliminating a bunch of larf. Then I only remove yellow leaves. There’s obviously more then one way to skin a cat, but that works for me and I’ve found people with largest girls do the same or similar.
I find that airflow is so important at this stage of the game it’s super important!

yes and foliage that can no longer catch sun rays and already did there job thus far. Its at that time I trim back about 10 lbs of lower foliage and low/inner dummy branches that are blocked in and never grow much of anything but pathetic popcorn. Lolly popping might be the popular term for it except I dont go that crazy with the pruners. The plants still look "natural" when I'm done. just a lot tider with more focus on main branching. It makes watering in there a lot easier too.

I have a lot to do after my daily job today. I dont feel like working after returning from work this one.

No excuses though, it can be a very make or break step not worth skipping, depending how things look even crucial. I should be able to judo chop a couple males out any day. the preflowers all and all were starting to look more mature just before the weekend. we will see this afternoon.

I spotted another one of those elves in my yard, pot seems to attract them. I've never seen one in the off season before. Not all elves happily work through their work day whistling. I put him to work to test, is he a worker breed or one of the lazier kinds. So far I'm not very impressed 🤔 🤭

She's just starting to flower, I really dont think she is gonna need too much defoliation.
BTW Big Mac is (Banana Punch x Mac & Cheese)

I noticed your elf’s barber seems to have gotten carried away and attacked his eye brow. Lol

Looking amazing everyone! Keep up the amazing work, y'all are killing it! Here's some pics of my ladies. I have been finely chopping up my excess males and feeding them to the females. Started harvesting pollen from multiple males with different strains each. Hoping to get a decent collection of a variety of pollen for breeding!

Some are still vegging out, no signs of flower yet on some of them but most of them have already started to flower! Can't wait to share this year's buds with all y'all when they start filling in nicely!

Oh and here's a cool picture I took

Alright, I see a stretchathon happening. They are just racing for the sun! Especially the girls in very top pic. Question: does any of your genetics develop longer internodal, after growing under that sun?

Oh yeah they're stretching to the moon! Haha, top pic is over 6ft tall. But not sure what you mean exactly by that? As in do the nodes grow more distant from each other? If so yeah I've noticed that, this year especially. The top pic plant is actually a product of last year's accidental breeding with my Hermie, both Jane does. But not only has this plant stretched like crazy I have noticed some decent spacing between nodes, more than I saw last year in some of my plants so not sure if that's a good or bad thing for the genetics? Idk we shall see how massive these buds will be come harvest!
