So in a week to 10 days from application date, what do I do? Haul the unit outside and gentle hose everything off? - I post a couple picts real quick.

When I wipe the critters off and squish them it seems like they bleed an orange/red. I am counting the days and it's driving me crazy until I can wash all this stuff off. From what I am researching online, and I'm looking everywhere, It say's that the "Food Grade" is suppose to come off completely. Guess we will have to see the scope pictures.

The over all feeling of the whole thing is that it sort of makes my skin crawl. I want these nasties out of there. I worry that the longer I wait the more embedded they will get in the surroundings. The harder they will be to permanently extinguish. I plan on replacing some drywall and repainting everything with an oil base white. I have a plan for sealing the floor, caulking the cracks and crevices, I will have to figure a way to clean my A/C unit. and seal it off as it is starting to cool off at night around here. Eventually the North winds will be back. I know I will be spraying and fumigating and I want to use something that is going to last for years to come. I never want this problem again. And I know clean, clean and more clean and maybe set up a prep area for entry from the outside world. I know of other small growers in my area who are also having a bad time with bugs this year. They claim to never have had bugs like this before either. I do have 3 Aurora Indica seeds I can start. They have been around as long as the current Cindy. What to do - What to do. Pictures are of huddled masses of baddies, hopefully dead and dying off. I am taking out one branch of the Wed Cake today to start the cleaning process. I am curious to see what everything is going to look like under the microscope.

It's too late in my opinion. I had a hard core, old school friend that took the piece with all the eggs on it, he thoroughly cleaned it and washed it in water and then left it on his dash board in the sun for a few days. Says it was the best he has had in years and maybe ever. I took one piece off of each today. Cindy still got a huge amount of time before its done. Wedding cake is looking like it is starting to finish. I am worried everything is going to progress out of control worse than it is. I'm ready to clean and fix, fumigated and spray and seal everything up and start over. Just ready for this whole disaster to be behind me. Start Fresh. I will be posting Microscope pictures when I get off work tonight. We will see how this stuff cleans up.

Sup brother,
Yeah, you could wash it off afterwards, or you could just leave it on and it’ll end up wearing off over time. I’d actually wait a little longer than ten days then just remove the areas with the aphids a bottle of water and hydrogen peroxide and spray it on, then wipe the dead insects off with a cloth or paper towel and reapply a little water/hydrogen peroxide mix n let it dry.
there are a few ways you can handle it.

THANK YOU SO MUCH... That stuff cleans off extremely well and way above what I expected. It all cleans off. Give a light spray with a hose or shake it under water for about 15 seconds. Either way.. WOW - Onward bound to the finish... Well, after whatever problem pops up next.. haha

So, how much should I dilute that stuff into the water?

They sure are stubborn. Hiding out under everything. I have to say that I was nervous and had basically written the whole thing off. The DE washes off better than I ever imagined it would. See above pictures! Great advice. Still I cannot wait until this is over, I want them dead. Hopefully, the darker color ones are the dead ones??? I keep coming back here counting the days from when I first applied it. 6 to 8 more days (At Least) to go.. Keeping fingers crossed.

Some parts of the plant are coated heavier than others, but everything has a little bit on it. I even went back over the places I misted after they dried. I have used about 3 LBS or that stuff between 2 plants in a 5' by 7' room. This is horrible and it's starting to creep me out as far as where else am I bringing these creatures once I leave my grow chamber? First picture... How did a grub make it to the top of the canopy with all that DE in between it and the ground? Waiting for their death is like waiting for those last couple of days for Tirchs to turn amber. Grrr.

What worries me most is where else I could be possibly dragging these Things and not knowing it and #2 how hard it is going to be to permanently get rid of them before I start anew? Because I know, they got to be in every nook and cranny of my room, everywhere. I plan on replacing drywall, installing vinyl flooring, oil base painting. It will be at least a month if not 2 before I re-start. I will caulk and seal everything after treating the grow room/closet, building, foundation and surroundings with malathion. I am going to give it it's full 14 days and gently hose everything off. Today is day 6. Just creeps me out a little. I am not scared of bugs but the ones you cannot actually see very well, Ehhh. The DE sure does wash off fairly completely. The last microscope pictures prove that. I never imagined it would clean that completely. The building that houses my grow is less than 2 years old from new stick built construction. Wondering how I will treat my window A/C unit I built into the exterior wall. By the time I am up and going again I will be worried about heating and not cooling my area. I will know more when I get off work this afternoon. So far I cannot prove to myself that the DE is doing what I thought it should be doing, but we will see. I have never had this much trouble ever and my first indoor was in 1984. Can't wait to open the door every day just to see what is failing next. hahaha. Good luck with everything you got going, and thanks for the support... JoryK too. I am just going to continue with this thread. That way I have all my recent history in the same place.

we all go through some sort of disaster at some point with growing, it’s your turn that’s all.
it just sucks cause it feels like a waste and now it seems like forever till the next grow..
i just went and visited a friend who has noticed white powdery mildew on one of his plants, so we treated her than i’ve come home to shower and change before going into my grow area.. and i’m still paranoid! haha..
just hang in there you’ll be a pro in no time!

They are all turning black and sort of looking dead. I really don't want to bring a leaf into the house so I can microscope it. You can tell where they have ventured over the top of the DE. I am going to "TRY" to wait out the whole 14/16 day thing for the benefit of everyone. Overall growth has definitely slowed or been stunted but the plants themselves do not look like they are dying, yet. It sure looks like there is more critters than ever, but I'm sure it is just me freaking out. Let's see what happens. My back yard is covered with dark grub/caterpillars. Doesn't dark ones mean there is a bad heavy winter coming? Might be just what the outside of the grow room needs.

There are dead ones everywhere. But from the microscope it would seem I have as many if not more. The whole grow room is covered in DE and dead bugs.
