Hi farm fam. I've been approached by the good folks at Spider Farmer to put the SE3000, the baby bear of their bar light range, to the test. Postage must be getting back to normal as it arrived at the mail facility in my town today. So I though it might be time to get my clones in the ground.

Clones are from one of my four Green Crack girls. She has been slow, didn't really even start to stretch until two weeks of 12/12 and will be harvested at least two weeks after the other three. On the upside I think the lag was caused by overwatering and root damage by me at the start. Also despite the delays she looks like this:

More than happy to have four like that and now I know what she likes I'll be confident running four of those.

Given the light is designed for 3x3, and the tent is 4x4, the grow will be smaller than the current one. However I'm keen to see how yield per sq foot compares. Current lights are Mars Hydro, but they are already suffering failures 4 months after purchase. Can't be relying on them if I need to go away for a couple days. So was already looking for a new light when Spider Farmer contacted me. Honestly I will probably add it to my current grow when it gets here. I'm really excited to get some UV in there and see if we can't help these girls frost up.

Took five clones of that girl and dropped straight in tap water, switched to buffered RO wth 1/4 strength Canna A/B. After two weeks:

Potted today into Canna Coco Professional. My last grow was 8 gal plastic pots as recommended by grow store. I can only imagine the horrific pot bound roots. I know for sure I've grown healthy plants but can do better. This time is 1 gal fabric, which I'll consider moving to 2 gal depending on timeframe. They are basically vegging in our beautiful spring weather outside, when the current grow is done and drying finished in tent, these will go straight into flower in there. That is likely to be at least 6 weeks so they could be pretty big by then. It's likely to be a two plant grow if that's the case, but time will tell. One will probably left outside for the whole summer IF I can find a spot where my skanky neighbours won't see it.

So it's a cannonball run - fill those 1 gal pots with roots and get on with above ground growth, straight into flower when moved to tent and see what we can do with this light.

Potting was just using 1/2" pipe to create a channel for my lovely roots, then giving a good soak with RO buffered with Silica and Calmag, rhizo and 1/4 Canna nutes.

Next step is to check on them 15 minutes later and remind yourself your city is located 4 miles from the sun and maybe they don't like that. Move them to shade and monitor the lower leaves that are slower to bounce back after proper soaking, and trim in next couple of days if necessary.

My lawyers have instructed me to mention that you don't need to do that last step, in fact most growers would strongly recommend you don't. Just putting it out there.

Anyway, hope you'll follow my grow, I'm basically reviewing fabric vs plastic pots, SE3000 lights AND the watering system I am stealing from AquaMan once this grow is done and I put it together mwahahahaha!! Hopefully will give people an idea of what the light can do and how it may be a good option for you!

Peace and blaze.

GIT R DUN. 👍👍👍

This is the addictive part of cannabis... growing becomes a need and thankfully you have a great support group for your new addiction lol.

BTW I stole much of my setup drop @Dirtbag and @cemchris

Those 2 really helped me out on it.

Sure do mate, the whole community is part of my grows as far as I'm concerned. I like that I'm getting to see a couple different watering strategies, lights, seed and clone. Get the most chance to soak up all the info and refine what works for me.

See now you sound like a few of us. Trying out many different styles really teaches you how a lot of information is very specific to grow style. Seeing first hand the differences in challenges and benefits to each and that really helps understand these kick ass plants and how various things affect them.

I found it very eye opening when I went from hydro to peat. Everything changes.

No doubt. Maybe I'll go full Bugbee and do one myself in future! Right now I'm just getting these girls thru last few weeks. Always enjoy this process of doing things for the first time, everything is novel and amazing in a way it never will be again. Every time I think my girls aren't going to fatten up enough or I have got something wrong they just power thru and sure as eggs is eggs they do exactly what they're supposed to as long as I listen to them 😍

Oof that sucks. Yeah mine is sitting in the depot literally 5 minutes from my house but I have to wait until next week for them to bring it from there 🤦‍♂️

I had a driver blow on me, last Friday they shipped me a new one. I got it Monday morning from Richmond British Columbia to me in Nova Scotia, right across the country, delivered in 3 days.... miracles can happen.

So! My Spider Farmer SE3000 arrived today and she's a beauty.

Easy to assemble in about five minutes, and installed it straight into my current grow, took the Mars Hydro lights out. Definitely a bit less light to the edges as it's designed for 3x3, but I'm still getting around 500 PPFD at the edges, and around 1000 in the middle. About what I was setting the Mars lights to, but this has much better Samsung LEDs with lots of UV, so hoping this will boost resin production. Reckon I've got at least three weeks left so hoping to boost that and fill the buds out, getting rid of some of that foxtailing. Still really psyched with where we're at on day 52 of 12/12.

My babies on day 3 in Coco. Trimmed the burned ends of the fans from my full sunlight misadventure. Every day I get more excited that these come from the plant they do. Check out her structure and those two foot long colas stacks just waiting to happen!! 😳

Three are very similar in development, one is a beast, at this stage the plan will be to run her outdoors and put 2-3 of the other 3 straight into flower in the tent in 4 weeks or so.

My girls on day 53 of flower. Big FK up yesterday, lights ended up being on for 20 hours. Turned them off immediately and went straight into 12. Hours darkness advice from many very good growers is shouldn't be a problem this close to harvest but it means being on high alert for nanners or other weirdness. Should things go horribly wrong thought it would be nice to document them again now. It may be my imagination but I swear in the two days I've had the SF light in they have started maturing quickly. Much more frost and way more orange, receded hairs. May be just a coincidence and they were going to do that anyway but who knows. Managed to get some ok close ups of trichs, hopefully it's enough to give some of the keener eyes here an idea of how much longer to go? Want to start flushing as soon as it's time. Reckon on a couple of the zoomed in ones at the end maybe even some amber trichs? Let me know what you think! Cheers all!!

A few of the heads are swollen. I see milk and clear. Watch the heads, when the majority are swollen it's ready. From then on it's personal preference on how much couch-lock you want.
Maybe a week, 2 or 3 days either way.
