Hey all, another first time grower here. Purely for personal use and I don’t need much so I’m not accounting for yield (if I could grow dank bonsai cannabis I would) lol.

Heres my cart so far...

AC Infinity 3x3 tent
Spider-Farmer SE3000 LED
6” inline exhaust fan w carbon filter
Temp/humidity fan controller
Fabric Pots (3 gallon or 5 gallon?)

I still need to figure out what type of soil and nutrients to use, as well as water PH equipment.

Anything else I’m overlooking? Trying to order it all in one shot. Northeast basement climate.

Thanks!

normal fan(s) for air circulation
some kind of reservoir for mixing nutes / dechlorinating water
you'll probably want to start in smaller pots - transplanting at least once during veg
some kind of tray to collect runoff / or saucers under each pot...
PH meter
timer for lights

Small plants vegged 3-4 weeks from sprout, will have plenty of room in 3 gal pots. If you get cocoloco, ffof, or something similar you won't need to feed until after flipping to flower. If you use dry amendments like happy frog or dr. earth, you just top dress every 2-3 weeks and use plain water. That's the easiest way to grow. If you go with bottled nutes, dynagrow / dynabloom work good. Keep it simple - stay away from the 6-10 part mixes.

What are 6-10? And yeah the top dressing stuff sounds nice. Is that only for organic grows? I’m leaning towards chemical nutrients because I’m worried about pests, especially being in a basement. I’ll have to see what my local grow shop carries as far as soil. They are some kids who don’t grow the best so won’t be asking their opinions. I‘ll get a list and ask you guys haha.

Check out Mantis Buffered Nutrients. Its a one part nutrient system and is the easiest to use. It's buffered so it keeps the PH in optimal range so you won't need a PH pen. I haven't used one in 3 years since switching to Mantis. Literally all you'll need from seed to harvest. I would also get a oscillating fan or two. Scrog netting if you plan on doing that as well as garden wire if you plan on doing any training. Trimmers! Also maybe a humidifier and dehumidifier (these can always be purchased as you go if needed)!

ProMix. Maxigrow. Maxibloom. Ph test drops. Ph down. Digital scale. Nursery pots. Trays. 2" cloning collars. Air pump and cloning tub. And upgrade that tent to a 4x4 if you can. If you can't it's fine. But 4x4 is much better.

I second the 4x4 also its almost double the sq footage.

That is if you have space and can afford it

I wont be growing more than 3 plants at a time, and not too big either. I would only grow 3 or 4 if trying to grow 2 different strains. I might grow 3 for the first run, each different amounts of nutrients, just to see which one turns out the best.

Still needing:
PH Pen
PH UP & DOWN (seems to be a common choice)
Oscillating fans

Still unsure of appropriate designs/models for:
Air Conditioner inside of tent unit
humidifier
dehumidifier

so far I have... 3x3 tent, 6” exhaust & filter with auto fan controller, 300w LED, 5 gallon smart pots, pot trays, SCROG net, Pineapple Upside Down Cake seeds... which I thought sounded good since reviewers were saying stuff like “cleaned the whole garage”, “good to start the day”. Haven’t looked at soil or nutes yet, moving on to that next, after equipment is covered.

and a partridge in a pear tree

Airflow through the tent. Cool filtered conditioned air drawn through the air intake.

Ohh....ok. Would another in-line fan do it? Like run the duct hose of the intake fan to a cool room? Or am I going to need a separate AC unit for this?

You have your inline duct fan drawing on the tent. You have an inlet tube with an air filter on it drawing cool clean air from inside the house or a window. Thermostat controller helps.

Oh I thought you were saying i need a fan for the intake...my mistake. I suppose an 8ft tube would do it? Coil to prevent light leaking into the tent?

Yeah but light travels through those shiny tubes like a mirror. And you need to filter the intake air. I use a furnace filter and box.

I found $0.02 in my pocket... hell who am I kidding. I will probably be the reason they make a 2cent coin.

You want to Condition the air in the room that the tents sits in unless it a fairly large tent.

In a basement assuming it stays fairly cool? (Fill us in there) you prob won't need an AC but almost certainly should have a dehumidifier. I would say about 4 gal per day in a 3x3 would cover all the transpiration. So a 30 pint should do it for you. Don't try to run them under 50% they will not be efficient and will run almost nonstop.

Also in a basement you may need a heater and remember you want to heat the air in the room the tent sits not the tent itself. So you need on big enough to accomplish this. Of you have baseboard heaters (doubt it) that's perfect if not a good quality space heater with tip protection, preferably with a thermostat or you can use a temp controller. Personally I think inkbirds 306T is the best bang for buck and allows you to do day and night temps unlike the 308.

This one here.

These guys got ya covered and I think my $0.02 has run out.

coast of maine or dr earth with ewc soil for soil
if you choice to make soil
equal part of peat moss, compost , perlite
if your completly new add extra perlite to your soil so you dont over water, even with ocean forest i add extra just to feed more often in flower
in a 3x3 what is your plan for how many you grow?
i have a 2x4x5 tent i grow in and 4 plants in 3 gal pots is stuffed full
