that used to be quite a thing back when there were a lot more big growers on forums. people that would run a cut for years, get to know its exact needs and wants through every single stage of growth. it just takes time.

one could apply some algorithmic thinking to the process and divide and conquer with multiple rooms, and enough tooling. Instead of taking a couple years to get n runs under your belt with a particular cut, you could likely cut it down to a year or less to know exactly what is optimum to really push a given strain. Is it really worth it in the scheme of things? sure, i guess. not sure there would be a significant return on investment though. sure would be some bragging rights to say you've got a plant dialed in, not just an environment.
For sure it seems more applicable to commercial or research purposes but I’m really surprised there isn’t more accessible information on strains. I mean you’d think there would be a couple of universally preferred strains that are well studied. Prohibition has really hindered research.

Nearly time to spread these out and fire up the rest of the lights. I bumped up the feed a little and will add a bit of magpro for the next few feeds. They were looking hungry, I think I've been going in a bit low on the ppm. So, up to 1.2ec this am. Likely 1.3 by the time I get magpro going this afternoon.

I know it's Wednesday, but sure feels like the weekend. Ive got the after work vibes already and I'm stuck here for a few more hrs still. Been up working since 3:30am, first salting parking lots then fall cleanups all day after that.. I think I'll have a beer or two after work, before I pass out cold at 6:30.. definitely not skipping the bath tonight lol.

A little whilk and misky is getting me through right now.. no deep meaning here. Actually they're saying the exact opposite of what I'm feeling..

So many questions dirtbag. Sorry lol. Do you always go up to the same max EC or does it change based on how your plants are moving along. Once again, as a newbie, I am surprised by how much better my plants respond when I dose lower (I am at 1.7 EC in week 7 flower when I thought Id be at like 2.3-2.5).

No need to apologize man, I like talking weed.
I always try to start on the low side and see how the plants look, then adjust. Some indica leaning plants will quickly show it wants more, some hybrids and sativas will take a lower feed and be perfectly healthy. But ill usually try to read the plants.

In this case the leaves were lookin a little pale on the new growth and a bit more purple pinstriping than I'd like, so I bumped the feed with a little more P in the mix.

Im struggling to increase mine db..my words.. i think the canna classic im using is a little high in n and once they are getting a little dark i back it off.feeding under 600ppm and buds look good...do you believe the ratios of the nutes avail plays at hand at what you feed..i have the dyna gro nutes here but reluctant to change as im not getting any deficiencys and afraid i might with the dyna gro nutes..i guess being very new to this and low on experience the reason i wont change..

After using Dyna nuts, I realized that Dyna Bloom formula contains too much phosphorus which caused the issue with premature buds in week 6-7
Db, at what the stage do you start using the mag pro?

Those pictures look like too much nitrogen late in flower. I never had any issues with dyna gro.

Yeah I do believe the ratios make a difference, but there is flexibility.

I wouldnt worry about switching nutes up. Dyna grow is a complete high quality nute. You just need to balance it in flower with bloom and mag pro. But if canna is working I'd run that out and see what it does. No sense fixing what isn't broken.

I use it a bit in Veg, week or so before flower. Then again end of stretch or so up until just before ripening.

Did you use bloom on its own or mixed with foliage pro? The way I use it now for flower is about 70/30-FP/Bloom, and near the end of stretch cut that to about 60/30/10- FP, Bloom/MP, and near the end of flower I cut it to 60/30/10-Bloom/FP/MP.
Thereabouts. I'll be totally honest I just kinda mix up a witches brew and usually change something about it almost every grow. But im finding in late flower less N is good, P should be up, but K should be highest of all.

Yeah canna classic is good apart from the ridiculous price on the boost so ive backed off the dose to 30% and see no difference in flower size using it from week 3 to 6 ..this is my 4th grow coming and im using less and less nutes every time..i reckon i can grow at 500ppm no worries which blows me out compared to what other guys are feeding.and everyone says that led makes the plants use more but im not seeing that..my lights good so maybe canna base nutes have near all the nutes whats needed....ive had no bad deficiencys apart from too much n at start....

Edit: your up late db.

Goin to bed now. Up at 5 again...

Less is best my man

I use Dyna grow thru veg, then start Dyna Bloom but last run I had to stop all bloom builders as the buds kept getting new growth on top of my colas and would not finish. I've never used mag pro or foliage pro. I wasn't aware you could stack grow&bloom in flower. I do decrease N in flower as Dirtbag does, when I see the tips are burning. I have Humbolt "Oneness" for that in mid to late flower. SS

Nice, I've got a bottle of PBP bloom 1-4-5 here that I use for the last feed ratio of the cycle quite often, for about week 7 and 8.
