Is 10.5litre 60/40 coco claypebbles pot size big enough room to grow big plants, or how long would you veg in this size pot? It is in my flood and drain system but I'm just curious if that's enough medium. Thanks
You can grow a huge 1lb +plant if that's your goal. Veg time depends on strain. Some plants can grow 12-12 from seed, and others might take a 3 month veg to make a pound. Some will never make it. Hybrids for the best yield. Almost any seed you buy nowadays is gonna be polybrid.I really do appreciate your reply guys, im actually in two minds weather to go for a sativa or indica strain next run, what are your thoughts on this? Do sativas tend to yeild more compared to indicas when tucked under nets etc (scrogged)? Any strain ideas of certain breeders that are very high yeilding? This is where I've gone wrong growing strains that breeders tend to say they yeild very high but actually don't when scrogged, topped etc. Thanks
Wow! They are looking awesome. I'm actually running a flood and drain system with x16 , 10.5litre pots of 60/40coco clay pebbles mix. Under 4 x 600w lights, 2.4x2.4x2m grow tent, just trying figure a nice heavy yeilding strain because I'm sick of seed companies fake advertising on the yeild of some strains! Also just to add, in the system I'm running is all automated so literally as many feeds a day as needed. ThanksYou can grow big plants in coco with small containers. You need an auto watering system though if you go with 2gallons or less IMO. I veg for 4-5 weeks from rooted clones. 2gal fabric pots filled with about 1.5gals of 80/20 coco/perlite. In peak flower I'm watering about 6 times a day, reach full saturation by 2nd feed, runoff by 3rd feed and last 3 feeds of the day are just to maintain moisture level in the pot. I've pushed plants in 1.5gal of medium up to 6 weeks veg with no issues but you will be feeding multiple times a day and this starts in veg, by day 1 of flower with a super long veg you will be watering 3 times a day. So many variables... but IMO you need a good digital timer than can trigger down to the second and be able to program at least 6 cycles a day min pair with an irrigation system that can run PC emitters.
If you only want to water daily, I'd go with 3 gallon pots and even then, at peak flower you might have to water 2-3 times a day.
Plants in the photos below were grown 9 per light, 5 week veg, 1.5gal 20/80 perlite/coco being fed multiple times per day. I'm attempting to practice from crop steering techniques without using a moisture meter... just lifting the pots.
