Incorrect. Negative temp difference helps minimize stretch in flower and faster bud onset. Should only be +\- 4-6 degrees. even in nature during night is cooler then day? what gives this method?>

lol, it should be the other way around. Night time 24-25c and daytime 26-27c which then it can be understandable because of the light heat.
do you not run any fan at night?
That is a positive temp differential, Burnzy and j1sonbrother are right, negative temp differential is warmer in the dark and cooler for lights on.

thanks for this, i did not know this factor. So during lights on my temps are stock at 80f and during night it falls to 75+. Sometimes when it gets really cold during winter i turn the heater on.
So, if turn on a AC to bring temps to 78f during light and 80f during night then the stretching is less and gibberellin production is more?
Gibberellin production is reduced along with the stretch. Gibberellin is the hormone that elongates the stems.

And yeah the bigger the trmp difference the bigger the effect. In terms of how I like to tie it into crop steering, the first week of stretch I reduce my lights on temp by about 5f and keep lights off temp the same. And often when I have the chance I'll go in the room at lights on and bypass the temp controller and run the exhaust fan non stop for an hour or two to really get the room nippy. I find that more than anything helps keep them short.
This signals to the plants a change in season. Gives them a few frosty mornings to realize winter is coming and get to work trying to reproduce.

some different shit for you tonight.

just got done writing a four page letter to the senator of the state my cousin was killed in a few months back. can't do much else about my current situation, but can project that anger towards something productive. song hit something fierce as i was hitting the print button.

Sounds like a cathartic experience man. Sorry to hear about your cousin. We're you close?

yeah, for a while. it's been a couple years since we talked. we grew up together though. he was the second oldest grandkid. fuckin pig shot him in the back of the head. made his 12 year old son an orphan. have listened to that song hundreds of times, first time pulling up the video. the thumbnail image is rather fitting. not sure about the catharsis, but i'm not one to go join the protestors. i have an allergy to tear gas. rather write letters and still watch the injustices roll by with nothing happening. just sucks. dude was a year older than me.

All good man. I'm in the bath again myself.. lol. Drinking too much lately over here.

That's a brutal thing to happen. So sorry again dude.
appreciate it, but no apology is due from you. i want the fucking cop that killed him to pay for what he did. makes me sick. imma go run a bath myself before i make a fool of myself here again. gotta get my head in order, got a journey coming in the next couple weeks and need the intentions clear. take care of yourself bud.

So your just reducing the heat not light intensity dirtbag.

I actually increase light intensity when I flip to 12/12 and drop the temp. The idea is to maintain a high overall daily light integral, when you cut back to 12hr days the total amount of photons collected in one day to power growth is reduced by about 25% (if my questionable math skills are to be trusted) if light intensity stays the same. By increasing the intensity when you flip it keeps the amount of photons collected in a 24hr period high enough to maintain vigorous growth. Not quite as high as peak Veg, but high enough.

I gotcha...as you know i had a little problem with them stretching this grow so ill have no problems going from the 315 to under the lumatek.im around 26.7 -27 in veg so how much less of a temp do you think i should drop it to once in flower..do you up the temp once stretch is gone or just leave it where it is..i should b able to equal lights on temp if not exceed it lights off as it warms up here..

I work in ferenheight and usually veg 78-81f and then drop that back to 74-75 for the first week of stretch, then run it 76-78 for the bulking phase of flower, back to low 70's for the last week of flower.

I stripped that hard on my grow last winter and it kept growing like nothing happened. Like you said the entire crop will be quality, ripe bud. You should get zero larf outta that. You will get a fair bit of smalls but they'll be perfectly ripe.
I just want to be a hands-on intern to one of these grows to learn by being shown directly and doing.
