some different shit for you tonight.

just got done writing a four page letter to the senator of the state my cousin was killed in a few months back. can't do much else about my current situation, but can project that anger towards something productive. song hit something fierce as i was hitting the print button.

Sorry about your cousin...Hope your letter does some positive good for you and your family too...

can only hope. he left behind a 12 year old son who's mother is not present, and several brothers and sisters. my aunt has had a terribly difficult life too, and this is just another addition to the people that have died over the years. lost her husband about 20 years ago, then both her parents, two brothers, a sister, now a son. the fact there has been no media coverage of my cousin's killing is the most infuriating part and that constitutes the majority of my letter. Just because he wasn't technically a minority, and the FBI + local LE aren't releasing any details (why would they, there's no public scrutiny), it's a non-issue that he was murdered by a cop. still trying to wrap my head around it, and being mindful of things i say when truly angry. last thing i want to happen is ending up in guantanamo because something i sent to a series of politicians ends up getting me locked up as a potential threat. i'm anything other than a threat, just want a man guilty of murder held accountable, regardless of if he's a boy in blue or not.

Some interesting observations, @tobh you were right that they seem to be taking a lot more food than I would have believed possible without issues. Going in at 1.6-1.7 currently, syringe testing after second feed shows ec in the range of 2-2.2 in the blocks with the extra drybck I've been giving through generative. No tips burned, nothing, if anything it looks like they could take more.
Using around 50/50 foliage pro and DG bloom with a splash of mag pro. Calcium silicate in the base water, which.. im using Rainwater this round. Just easier with me not working at the golf club anymore. I like easy.

Forgive me if this has been discussed but I am really curious if you are noticing differences between your LED and non LED plants besides growth. A lot of hooplah about all the light quality benefits of using LEDs but Bugsby swears it is almost all about intensity. Curious.

Yes, so far the HPS plants have bigger branches and more leaves and budsites. But, I'm not surprised since I'm running 1K HPS beside 480w LED. I don't care how efficient they are, you can't honestly compare the two.

My goal here is to maximize yield with what I have. Which is more than what I had before adding the LED. But I have no expectations that the LED side will outproduce the HPS side. Maybe if the wattages were not so vastly different. These LED are more designed for tent growing. I should really be running SE7000's beside the 1K HPS.. wink wink SF..😉

That said, for what they are they're performing well. Just not on the same playing field as high watt HID.

Not to take over your thread, but I am curious what you think of this, because to me this sounds crazy high especially from clone. On a Discord server someone posted this:

"My set is 4x8 tray , 52 plants , 1" Rockwool clone cube set on 3x6x36 slab, .33 gallon/hr drippers for irrigation. Watering at 3.9-4.1 ec since they were in clone dome. 17 days in dome, 4 days on slab and now this is day 2 flower"

Can;t remember when you flipped, How many more days until the 21st after the flip?

It's been 13 days since flip, 8 days left until strip

Does sound high to me. I'd never feed that hot but I have seen some bewildering things before.

Do you think the end result will be a higher ratio g/w?

yeah, it seems that the limit is right about 1.8 EC input in my setup. At that level, slight tip burn became apparent on a few of the girls, but otherwise they don't seem to give two shits. Media EC tends to sit right about 1.9-2.1 when I've checked. I need to do another check since I'm into the vegetative fertigation schedule again and hitting them with lower EC in the input. Input is 1.4-1.5 EC. I anticipate the media EC is likely around 1.7-1.8 now, maybe lower since the drybacks aren't as long and I don't let the media dryback as significantly between events for now. Max WC target and runoff target are also shifted a little earlier as well and my chart below doesn't indicate when first runoff is happening, which has been at the 10:30 event the past couple days, instead of at 12 PM.

Just for yours and others clarification (this question seems to come up a lot with steering is specific scheduling without all the gadgetry) so here's what my schedules look like. These aren't set in stone, but more so serve as baselines that can be modified as necessary for a given environment.

does your syringe have a needle that you insert into rockwool or do you just insert the head of the syringe tube? i dnt have needle and with the tube it put a huge hole in the rockwool.

hahaha no, you just try to get the nose of the syringe to have a good seal against the rockwool, not inserted into it. you'll know there's a good seal when the thing actually pulls some solution. otherwise, it'll suck air and solution and make a bubbly fuckall of a sample in the syringe. takes a few tries to get it right. and, no needle.

lol ok, i understand the tight seal but i seem to have a difficulty with it if it's not soaked dripping balls. so, i thought maybe you guys are inserting the needle.

in the video it looks like a even canopy? maybe things changed after your minor tweaking with lights heights?
Canopy height is about even. The difference I see when I get right in there, is in the density of foliage, thickness of the stems etc.. the 3 rows on the left are all about equal, row #3 being lit by both HPS and LED. It's really just row #4 on the far right that is looking a little skimpy compared to the rest. But not by a lot. Though to me it is noticable.

That's a good question. I'm not sure if it will exceed the GPW figures or not, or if I will just see an increase that corresponds with the levels of light output in general. Curious to find that one out myself. But I'm hopeful it will increase as I'm seeing all the plants eating quite a bit more food than I'm used to. Time will tell.
