Not in the dark. In a vase with water, in a shaded area in the grow room, or just on the kitchen table like roses. Give your best a valentine she will always remember.

The week or so they stay in water may increase terps. No proof, But I've done it many times and it seems to help.
Also I recently cloned and revegged 8 week buds. It took about 3-4 weeks for the bud to start growing. During that time, the old bud part got insanely terpy. Less than half a joint on it and the whole house smelled like road kill.

I decided to resist the urge to crop today. Yes, I'm seeing some amber up top, but the plants themselves are still looking a bit too lush for my liking, and they're still drinking quite a lot, which suggests they're still metabolizing strongly. Mids also still have a good bit of twinkle to them when I put the flashlight on them, which suggests a fair bit of unripe heads.

I just think back to this video I watched a while ago with Frenchy talking about when to judge harvest timing.
