First time grower, 18 days from seedling

Hey everyone, first time grower here from up north in Canada

Just wanted some advice on these seedling, I'm not sure if they're growth so far has been proper for 18 days old, anything I should be doing better?

I haven't fed any nutrients yet, just water.

Strain: "Jelly Bananen" (feminized) from Exotic seeds.

Current set up:
- 23° C grow room / 52% humidity
- 18/6 Light cycle
- 300W Full spectrum LEDs (28 inches away)
- Organic soil (cheap shit, hoping to upgrade for transplant)
- 6.2 - 6.4 PH soil.
- Watering with 6.1PH when soil is dry
- Osilating fan running 8 hours daily
- Humidifier running 12 hours daily

Are you planning on growing organically? @ComfortablyNumb probably can help you there better then i can, but growing organically is not by you giving them nutrients but rather the soil would.

if you are planning to give it nutrients than you are not growing organically, because you are feeding it nutrients.

what is your current soil and what is your water resource?

I've gotten Advanced Hypdro Grow, Microsoft & Bloom that I will start feeding in about a week. I thought I should transplant before starting to feed?

I was hoping that they'll pop out their third node in the next week or so before i moved them into their final 5L pot.

No sir! I heard that it's really tough to attempt organic grows for first timers and also pest control is a problem. Also I said the soil is "organic", not sure what that means lol

Also question for you as you seem like a pro grower, is it normal that one seedling has 5 finger leafs on its second node but the rest only have 3 finger leafs?

i don't like to think im a pro grower but i know a thing or two The fingers will change and it all depends on genetics.

Auto flowers to me are like a ticking time bomb. Meaning they grow fast and with that it has its pro's and cons.
you can change them into their final home, so you don't have to transplant anymore. keep your light on 18 hour and 6 hours off and start feeding it at 0.8ec.
If you don't have a PH or PPM/EC reader than you should definitely get one. I suggest on spending the money once and get something durable. BlueBay, Hanna are good. If budget is an issue than a cheap amazon would do, they just tend to go fairly quickly if they are not taken care off.

For your soil it really doesn't matter since you are going to feed it nutrients. However, having a beneficial soil can help the root eat better.
When i was growing in soil i had ProMix Hp and this helped, because it had mycoryze which helps the root.
For feeding i had MegaCrop. However, your nutrients are fine as well.

i'd suggest on looking around in THC diaries and there are alot of good experienced growers in soil. Read from the start of their grow and see how they grow.
This should help you not make common mistakes. You can always drop a @ before any once name and that will notify them, so don't feel shy to call up if you have a question

That's all I'm using worm casting and mycorhizae for the roots I finally just bought a ph pen and ph up and down got my temps and humidity right finally I still need a ppm meter though

when i was in soil, i didn't use ph down or up. after my mix my water would be ready for feed and if the ph wasn't proper the soil would make it to the right reading, but i checked my ph at begings as anyone should and it was always 6.5 so i stopped carrying about ph. This is only for SOIL that has proper elements.

Thanks for the info I'm going to test some run off before I actually decide to use it or not pretty sure the water I use is a little to high in ph if I remember city water test from last year it very well could have changed for the better I can only hope

Whoever told you Organics is difficult knows nothing. Organics is the easiest once it's up and running. All you do is water, train and harvest. And you don't have to water if you want to automate that.

I really appreciate the detailed response, I'm taking note of everything! These forums are like the growers handbook there's so many of you knowledgeable guys helping the community

Do you have any specific recommendations on when to transplant, Should I wait until roots start coming out of the drainage holes or is it okay to do it before then?

1st get you hands on ph/ec reader. With out it you'll be running tails.
If the soil is on the dry side then transplant and feed at 0.8ec

Just ordered a PH reader for Amazon, the reviews said you had to keep it in Ph balanced water so it doesn't get ruined so I'll see how that works.

I won't be doing an organic grow for this round, gonna stick to the added nutes for now.

Thank you I just ordered it with the ph4&7, and ESS. Going to arrive today too.


I also wanted to ask you about my seedling leafs, I noticed some white spots all over the leafs and took some close up pictures.

There's no black spots in the bottom and the white dots seem to look natural, but I wanted your opinion on if you think it's possobly mildew or pests?
