hey all, new to this. been having a time getting seedlings to the next stage so i thought i'd ask thoughts on this one. think this is ready for light? it has not shed its shell but stem is over 2" long.
thanks!
thanks!
Yes and BTW you planted that too shallow as the cap is still on it,next time go a bit deeper and it will come off through the abrasion of the dirt,it still thinks its under the groundhey all, new to this. been having a time getting seedlings to the next stage so i thought i'd ask thoughts on this one. think this is ready for light? it has not shed its shell but stem is over 2" long.

Theres a fine line but I would think an inch would do it,I go about 1/2 inch, maybe you just had a stubborn one and I assumed ,sorry if thats the case. I do it depending on the length of the tail and about 1/2 inch over the cap.Thanks. That has been a big question I never could seem to find - when to transition. I had started out doing seed in papertowl but never knew at what point to transition.
I buried it about an inch. About how much deeper?
would this suffice?Keep that helmet moist so it can fall off. Add some soil to that cup, and yes get it under a light. A t5 florescent is fine.
Not what I would use. A small shop light from Walmart with a fluorescent bulb in it is sufficient. That light you are looking at on Amazon won’t be sufficient to vegetate and flower a Cannabis plant. Just get a cheap light for that seedling at Walmart, Lowes, or some other place that sells shop type fluorescent lights.
thanks, will it work for a seedling though? not sure i followed you completely. i ask because i picked this up on a real deal but it is def super bright and puts out some heat for sure. Not what I would use. That’s a good light. But overkill for what is needed at the moment. You could use it now though but make sure it’s about 36” away. You have any sort of light meter?thanks, will it work for a seedling though? not sure i followed you completely. i ask because i picked this up on a real deal but it is def super bright and puts out some heat for sure.
HLG 225
i will admit, i can be a pull trigger first and ask questions later.. ;)
thanks. i do not but am not afraid to buy one if they aren't crazy expensive. any suggestions? That’s a good light. But overkill for what is needed at the moment. You could use it now though but make sure it’s about 36” away. You have any sort of light meter?
You have a phone? There is an app for android or iPhone. It’s called Photone. You only want about 100 - 150 ppfd on that seedling right now.thanks. i do not but am not afraid to buy one if they aren't crazy expensive. any suggestions?

i did the app on of red/blue since that light states that is what it is. added the diy diffuser and it was like 300+. dropped it to about 140. thanks for that info. You have a phone? curious, what would 300 do? may be why i killed a few seedlings?

You can grow healthy plants under a floro, I bought 6-4 bankers used shoplights for around $20 each. They are not harsh and until flowering they work well and don't burn much electricitywell that explains it! thanks again for your help! is there a guide on that - i have to assume you go up as it grows.
