I didn't just water it it just got done raining. Am i not supposed to keep it outside when it's raining?
Outside is a bit different than indoors. The sun and the wind should dry off the plant rather quickly.

Just a side note. Look at the pot in the pic you posted with it having just rained. See how nice and watered it looks from edge to edge? When you have to water that’s how you want it to look afterward. Then let it dry out and repeat when light.

I use a fresh 50/50 mix of 2 Foxfarm's soils every grow.

Depending on pot sizes (transplant: clone ->4" baby cup-> 1 gal), other than CloneX at the start, I don't find I need to add anything but water until transition to flower, then I use General Hydro's 3 Part System at about 1/2 the recomended strength for the flower phase every 2-4 weeks... and deal with specific deficiencies as they arise (i.e. cal & mag).

It's better to underfeed them than to overfeed because overfeeding harms the roots, it's harder to fix, and takes longer to heal... you can always add more in a few days or next week.

I'm fairly new as well so was hoping to know would you say the biggest reason for this is so that no areas of soil become hydrophobic?

Roots will not grow in to dry soil. A bigger root mass will lend to a robust healthy plant above soil.
Also, small pots help untill roots develop. This is a pic 7 days after transplant of clone cube (it took 4 days to root, for a total of 11 days).

Then it goes into a 1 gal pot.

that is some speedy growth. Will all 12 stay in that tent through flower?
12 plants will need some room. While many people will cram 12 plants into a 4 x 4 or a 5 x 5, I prefer to give my plants space and personally I wouldn't put more than 6 in a space that size.

It's just easier to take care of if you're not playing twister on watering day.

Not this time, I'm journaling some outdoor Arizona growing and I am keeping 9 in the tent to flower, 3 are going outside.

I'll be flipping the tent on Aug. 1st... but the ones going out are in transition waiting on a bit better weather. They might have to wait till mid August... BUT, they might be able to move to shade on the 1st. We're getting nice rains here this summer.

Yep. With 12 plants it gets crowded if you veg too long... you flip'em asap if you're packing a tent (like about 2 weeks ago).

Yeah I totally agree but to each their own. I think it makes a lot of sense if someone only had a tent or 2 and was specifically doing a pheno hunt though right? I only have 1 grow under my belt but was 4 plants in a 4x4 in 3gs in coco/perl and I easily could have used more space. I am in soil this grow, and meant to run 3 in 7gs but have a 4th in a 5g and I know I'm fked. I easily could have 2 or even 1 plant in this 4x4 in 7gal soil and fill it. I just couldn't let the 4th(unintended cultivar) die because I only have 2 more beans of it and in case it is what I hope it is(a grc x bbc with ties to square 1), I decided to say Yolo and be completely squiished for space this grow. It is going to be some straight up golem and hobbit shit when feeding that is for sure hah

oh wow cool stuff. If you don't live here you just do not know what kind of sun we have. I believe cali and utah and vegas, yada yada yada all can get HOT ASSS F*&sssssk but eheh not like here bud. Shit in your car blows up. Plastics and strange things melt outside. One time in 92-93 I lived in tempe and was going to asu and a kid left his motorcycle in the parking lot of Papago 2 where we lived and he must have gone home for the summer. Over a few weeks when we had temps where if I recall it was 115+ for about 2 weeks straight, his motorcycle kickstand melted into the cement and the cycle fell over, which isn't that surprising but what was is that it literally melted into the cement up to the engine block. The asphalt literally ate half his bike. That is when you know it is hot. Got some monsoon action to deal with now though. Can change on a dime and go from low 80s earlier this morn to literal thunderstorms straight out of a sci-fi thriller later today, then 115 and humid before evening and 100+ after midnight. Pretty ballsy growin in this stuff man. Have to give it up to ya. Best of luck on a successful grow. They all fem or all regs or?

I've run 11 in a 5 x 5 and I promised myself I would never do it again. Each plant in the front 2 rows had to be removed to water the ones in the back 2 rows. I prefer to flip my plants at about 18"-24." I'm sure I get more yield per plant but not necessarily more yield out of the space. Also flipping small might allow an extra grow during the year. Pros and Cons to both methods.

when you say 18-24 is that from the soil to highest leafs?

They were all cloned off 2 mamas, but we'll have to see if they stay true... I've been pretty aggressive with them because I was about 2 week late cutting clones and it might cause some sex changes.

lmfao

You just gotta hone your inner Hatha Samurai skills to a keen edge... and use a 1/4" RO spigot with a long tip to get it deep into the back.
can't believe you said that. Ok I have 2 really solid garden sprayers and all I need is to somehow find a nozzle that will cause them to spray on an angle. Like a 90 degree elbow so I can stretch in horizontally but spray vertically. Do you have something like that?

whoa whoa I didn't know you could be late and plan to clone for 1st time this grow. Like late as in took cuttings after flipped lights to 12/12?

Nope... just a "sharkbite" style 1/4" valve with about 1.5' of 1/4" line comming out of one end.
