That's exactly what I will be doing in my next grow @Lp_jr ! @CannaGranny just did a one plant scrog in her 4x4 which turned out quite lovely. I will prob go with a 10gallon fabric pot
Thanks for the mention @Shaded_One 😍 I’m using seven gal bags it’s about the max I can move around wet. I have a lady slated for another one plant grow in the four by, Chocolate Mimosa.
Hope all is good on your side of the planet 🙂 All is good in the woods hood here. Cleaning, hanging and drying!
Several ppl that has grown that ATF has advised me to shove her in the dark for a few days. When that many suggest and they are ppl whos advice I trust, I just do it. She comes out Sunday. That will wind up all my current grow, but I have stuff in veg ready to rock as soon as the tents are empty and cleaned. Sooooo here we go again!

Couldn't think of a better example to use! How many day(s) was it taking for your 7gal pot to dry out? And I'm looking forward to watching your next one I'll just be stealing all your tricks along the way ;) Same here-hanging, drying, cleaned, started fresh seedlings. Hey if that's the advice you've been given why the hell not? Bugbee is not my dad.

Mornin! Thanks! These ladies were of a thirsty sort. Every other day, but normally they hold for three. Nothing was normal about this grow! It was kind of a test. Knowing cannabis is like fish and grow to fit their surroundings. I wanted to know if one plant with adequate room could out grow two plants shoved in a four by. Let ya know that answer after it dries and is weighed. I believe it did tho.
I roll my crops meaning there is a set in veg ready to go in behind this one. This keeps me popping off a crop every eight to eleven weeks depending on the strains.
No need to have to steal my tricks, heck, I’ll share ‘em with ya! 😊

So I went to my local store, they had 15 gal pots, which really didn't look that big. I asked what else ya got?

Came home with a 30g fabric pot, which I'll put 3 plants in:) Most likely not needed, but I also bought build a soil 3.0 mix, yucca extract( to help water penetrate) and build a soil top dress(compost, worm castings etc).

Well just make sure you detail the beginning part of the grow! I'm interested in seeing how you trained/topped the plant in order to spread it out to cover the 4x4. 1 plant in a 4x4 seems infinitely more manageable than 4 plants in a 4x4.

30g pot seems crazy! Most outdoor growers go for that size. I honestly don't even know if you'll be able to fill out that pot with roots 😂 well with 3 plants you prob will.

The method I use for the scrog :
I top at node 4. After that topping all of the new limb/greenery at node 2 and then a week prior to flower I fim all the tops.
One of the hardest things I have to explain to ppl is to make sure that the limbs are six to eight inches taller than your scrog table. You want those limbs laying under the table, not growing through the table. This exposes every single node on the limb to even light. I sometimes push 12 to 16 inches taller but I can lower my top onto the plant versus pushing the plants under it risking breaking limbs off.
I actually enjoyed just one plant. Easy to get to, easy to clean, easy to water. The heaviest bearing plant I have ever had on scrog. Just make sure you really like it as there is a lot of it!
I get through this summers work and I plan on doing some vids of the process. A lot easier to show than to tell.

After reading you guys talk about the big pots I had to link this grow. I think it's one of the best journals on roll it up.

I guess we aren't allowed to link to roll it up?

If you want to look at that thread replace invalid.com with roll it up.org without the spaces

after seeing how this Bruce Banner grew, I was thinking next grow I will just do 1 plant and do the scrog. so with that in mind. should I use a 7g or 10g pot if i plan to grow her out like that?

I use the seven, but the reason I do that is it’s about all I can move around wet. With that said it suffered no deficit’s in a seven and I anticipate it being the single heaviest take ever.

I've been on the fence about switching from synthetic to organic for a little while now.

After using dry amendments in my outdoor grow and seeing how much easier it is to walk up and water vs mixing this and that and pH'ing, I find myself wanting to switch more haha.

This is an awesome thread so thanks for sharing. You've answered lots of questions I had and some I didn't even know I had.

Not sure when I'll be able to but I'd like to go the gaia green route with with the all purpose, power Bloom, and glacial rock dust 👍

Hello and welcome to my "Growing with Gaia Green" guide! Figured I would just make a post that can be referenced instead of constantly writing this out in DM's or threads. Gaia Green products are 100% organic dry amendments for cannabis use. They are a Canadian based company but they also sell their product in the USA as well. They have a lot of products to offer and you may find a specific use for some of them due to your variables but I am just going to focus on what I personally use in my stack.

Sprout phase, ~1 week: NO nutrients are being added to the growing medium. Earth worm castings & cotyledons provide more than enough nutrition for the first 2 weeks of a seeds life
-transplant to 1gallon-
Early veg phase, 4 weeks: amend 3tbsp of 100% All Purpose 4-4-4 per gallon of medium eg. 3tbsp of 4-4-4 for a 1gallon container
Late veg phase if needed, 4 weeks: top dress 3tbsp of 100% All Purpose 4-4-4 per gallon of medium eg. 3tbsp of 4-4-4 for a 1 gallon container
-transplant to 5gallon-
Early flower phase, 1 week before flipping lights: amend 3tbsp of 50% All Purpose 4-4-4 and 50% Power Bloom 2-8-4 per gallon of medium eg. 8tbsp of 4-4-4 and 8tbsp of 2-8-4 for a 5gallon container
Mid flower phase, week 3 or 4 of flower: top dress 3tbsp of 25% All Purpose 4-4-4 and 75% Power Bloom 2-8-4 per gallon of medium eg. 4tbsp of 4-4-4 and 12tbsp of 2-8-4 for a 5gallon container
Late flower phase, sativa plants: if you have a sativa plant chances are they may need an additional weeks of growing time so you could do a light top dress 2tbsp of 100% Power Bloom 2-8-4 per gallon of medium eg. 10tbsp of 100% Power Bloom 2-8-4 for a 5gallon container
-harvest-

This is the basic feed schedule and this is a FULL STRENGTH feeding regiment meaning you are pushing your plant pretty hard. Certain strains and different growing environments may mean that you might only need to use 2/3 of what I have here for amounts. I recommend starting off with 2/3 of what is listed and increasing to full amounts if you're certain that your plants can handle it.

Additional supplements that I use are:

Mycorrhizae
I generously dust the root ball EVERY time I transplant and I also add a couple scoops into my soil mix any time I amend some soil to be going into a new container. Do not underestimate your rhizosphere

Epsom Salts - Magnesium Sulfate
LEDs increase the demand for Mg and this helps cover that demand. Overall plant health and nutrient uptake seems to improve when adding 1tbsp of Epsom Salt every 2 weeks

Gypsum - Calcium Sulfate
Decreases soil salinity and improves soil structure while also providing Calcium and Sulfate. 1tbsp of Gypsum every 2 weeks

Rock Dust Blend - micronutrients and humic acid
Used primarily to supplement micronutrients that may be lacking. Overall plant health and lushness improved since I started adding 2tbsp every 2 weeks

Pretty much once you get started you are either amending or top dressing in 4 week blocks, adding supplemental nutrients every 2 weeks, and then you just water your plants. Good luck and happy growing!
I don’t know if I missed it but what growing medium are you using?

i love what you did here! Lots of good information! I’m growing autoflowers right in this exact medium but amended my soil in its final pot size. Would you top dress EWC along with the dry amendments when they are due in 4 weeks?

Christmas came early and I was able to get an order placed this morning.
My next grow will be with gaia green all purpose, power Bloom, and glacial rock dust pretty much following your instructions just without the extras. Cheers 😁

Awesome to hear! Honestly that's the best part. No mucking around you just water your plants. Enjoy the grow and looking forward to seeing the journal 💪🏼 got any questions feel free to post here or DM.

It's not necessary but when I top dress at the 4 week block periods I'll pre mix the dry amendments with some of my soil mix which does contain about 25% EWC in a smaller container before it goes on the top soil. The dry amendments are pretty dusty and I find pre mixing them with some soil helps to keep it from flying all over the place.

Thanks for the info! Looking forward to this time around. At your two week blocks do you add all your additional supplements at once? And when you come to the 4 week block do you add your dry amendments and your addition supplements all at once?

There's no harm in adding everything at once! Some times my blocks are staggered so it's not always the same but yeah if it's time to get it they get it.

Just a little tip but when you're transplanting etc make sure you leave a little room to the top of the pot edge so that there's a place for your top dress to go when you have to add it.
