I remember seeing Andrew Zimmern in Bangkok I think, checking out the cuisine. He had, rat on a stick, which he didn’t seem to care for. And I think A bowl of sautéed insect of some kind. Maybe grasshoppers or crickets which he said weren’t bad. I know I am opening up myself for some serious Leg pulling, but do you ever try any of that way, off the wall, cuisine? Culture differences are amazing!
South east Asia is my favorite place to eat Singapore is a culinary melting pot. Even the hawker stands over there make better food than many of the full on restaurants here. Not to mention you can dine for 5 or 6 max $10 bucks and get a decent fill. The hawkers are my favorite.

If you want off food inventions the Exhibition is going on now, at the CNE.

I am with you on that pipe Carver! Another one of the side benefits of this forum. And, sambapati, Is a fount of colloquialisms! Like you haven’t noticed! L O L

Red Bluff, California is a culinary wasteland! My only resort is to try and experience Things vicariously through the menu of others!

Brent Mydland's tenure on piano was such a good version of the music, wonderful song. I waited 'till I was 40 to see the dead in Mountain View, CA. (never wanted people to know I was a dirty recycled hippie in a suit). Went with one of my co-workers who was called Yo-Yo man because of what he could do with a slinky. Granny, you're a wonderful writer -- thanks for taking the time. PT -- rock on....Everybody else have a good weekend.
See. 93 at 9:15 PM. 25% humidity. Fucking perfect! L O L!View attachment 1273130
Whatever your local weather forecaster gets paid, it’s way too much!

L O L! I’ve always said the same thing! For six or seven months out of the year it is the easiest job in the world!

Well it's not raining here so I can brag... 😆. Slept like a baby once I got the lumps smoothed out

I've been to Vegas a few times and I get a kick out of their weather people. Hot dry and sunny but there's weather people on every channel saying how hot how dry and how sunny its going to be....like we need to know more than looking outside at the desert.

We were there one July 4th 124f through Death Valley and 120f in Vegas.....I loved it...as a tourist there for 4-5 nights then bolt back to the cold weather, its exotic. I don't know how anyone could work outside in those conditions but on vacation whoopee , strip down and enjoy the heat

Fucking a right, brother! And as far as working in it, you’ll acclimate to it eventually and it’s not that terrible. Just take your time and carry a sweat towel in your belt! Lol

Sunny hot and dry. High fire danger! Sunny hot and dry high fire danger! Sunny hot and dry high fire danger! Eventually they get sick of it too. So they come up with ways to keep your little dog, FiFi, from frying her little paws on the hot asphalt! Or the fact that is 108° out but the Sacramento River water is about 40°! Can you say heart attack! Lol!

Ya, I spent a couple of years in Hawaii in the 70's and I remember going home from work asking the guys in the front to roll up the windows as I was cold...we passed a bank posting 5:25pm....78f.......I then realized how quickly I'd adjusted to warm weather

I've felt hotter here when its 95f and 100% there is no relief in the shade with that humidity, I leak from morning through the night unless I have a fan blowing on me,. I've never gone for air con because I like the heat but I'm now finding my plants might need better care through the summer so nothing is too good for my plants and an air con is surely on my list.....upgrade upgrade upgrade

Upgrade, upgrade, upgrade. Is that another way of saying, spend, spend, spend. Ha ha! Agreed! It’s not the heat is your enemy but the humidity! Yeserry! Gotta take care of those girls! But is there a point where you are taking better care of them then your family? Nah! The girls always win out! The family can adapt!

Dehumidifier is as important or even more so than anything IMO

Heat is brutal but humidity ruins flowering. Airflow humidity temperature... It's all very important

But admittedly I only have a month of 90 + heat...

Hey not Frankster! I just had a little talk with your dog! She said don’t listen to that asshole! He is the one with the fleas! L O L!

I had to buy a second 35 pint dehue this year to keep my flower room below 60%....right now its about 55% and that's right where I have my dehue set for....If I go lower I dry out my veg room and I have to humidify more so its a balance...55% is good or passable for both. Drying in that environment is a challenge though as my heat from lights and equipment & moisture from my plants and outside humidity is not optimal.

Your very rural. You should go south for some authentic Mexican.

Cool state, California.

Yeah 👍 you need lots of space 🚀 to make any arrangements optimal IMO

It's always been a problem for me anyway

You are right, air hammer! I should! That will be a major regret in my life. Love the food, Love the people and their attitudes. Just not that adventurous anymore. My brother used to go down to Ensenada and rent a bungalow for a week on the shore of the ocean and just loved it. And despite all the bad press the California gets, once you get north of Sacramento things can get pretty remote and aren’t all that expensive. I have backpacked all over the Sierras, Trinity Alps, a lot of the smaller wilderness areas. But the old body and specifically the knees are worn out! L O L! I wouldn’t live anywhere else. Bagging 13,000 foot peaks, catching native golden trout way up in the headwaters of the Kern, hiking out in blizzards, Sheltering for a couple of days in howling downpours under a nylon tarp. With the same good buddies most of the time. Those are the memories of California let’s go to the grave with you. Not living in SoCal or the Bay Area or any of the populated places. You can go for the money, or you can go for the freedom and open spaces. It was a no-brainer for me. I love California! Just like you probably love where you’re at in Canada. And I don’t think I’ve ever met a Canadian that I haven’t gotten along with. They are good people also. And I can belt out, oh Canada, with the best of them! L O L! Take it easy.
