How's everyone like to do their chop and dry process?
Whole plant, branches or buds? Hang or lay flat on screen? Wash or not?
I'm trying a few different ways this yr with each strain to see if there is a difference in taste.
Great advice from here on the wash part. Definitely see the dirt and byproducts after a wash...nothing terrible but hey, that crap would've been in me so that's a plus😵‍💫.
This is going to be my first time for the process. I am going to chop the individual branches, light wet trim, wash per process and hang dry. Then use the nylon brush method to finish dry trim, jar them for the cure process.

Update: 2 plants are in Grove bags. 2 plants are in the net. One is being trimmed right now with another one to be cut today. After today, 2 plants will be left. I'll be cutting it close weather-wise with the GSC's. I'm guessing a couple of pounds already processed with close to that still to be done. If I were to grade my outdoor run this year, I'd give it a B/B+. It has been a very successful run. I've lost about 2 ounces to rot issues all plants combined ... so there's still room for some improvements for next year. I'm pleased but I'm also on a mission to eliminate fungal diseases entirely from my greenhouse runs. I've already purchased 4 more fans for next year.

Answers to the questions:

I wet trim, wash, and dry buds (only) in a net. Once dried, into Grove bags for the cure.

My first yr washing. Who knew you could wash your buds, right? Other than that, what you are doing is my normal routine. Good crop again this year so trying a few ways to see what's best for me.

Glad you had a good year!
I dodged the bud rot I believe and never saw one sign of pm which is unreal for up here.
I'm just trucking my wheelbarrow of Georgia Pie to my outbuilding to start the process again. Letting my kush mint go til Wednesday and then the bottom drops out on temps.

Well great question. I'm doing all different ways this year. I normally don't wash and hang branches to dry at 60f and 60 humidity. And dry trim. This year I have wet trimmed 2 plants and washed one. I have some buds on a rack and the rest hanging. My next 2 come down tomorrow just hanging and going to wash one cause I see weed seed debris on it. My first wash was pretty clean. Those 2 are going to be dry trimmed. I am concerned about how fast the wet trimmed plants are going to dry. I have always like a slow dry. I wonder if the wet trimmed will taste greener. Any experience with this notion anyone?

Day 51, looking pretty good. It has been mentioned to me that she looks a little green, maybe too much Nitrogen. I have been following the chart supplied and from what I can tell she has had low to no Nitrogen for the last two weeks. I skipped the last feeding. Any comments greatly appreciated.

Looks pretty healthy to me. At some point she'll start to cannibalize and eat her own nitrogen. Leaves will yellow which this time of year should be normal

I have read conflicting stories about some females throwing a few seeds without being pollinated.

I assume you are referring to Mackinac Island. No, unfortunately never been there. I'm more in the area of Belle Isle.
I'm not sure your talking about mackinac. I live 20 minutes from st. Ignace, and been over there many times. It's a bunch of bars, fudge shops, and bicycle rentals, and a big fort. Bikes so you can take a ride around the island. It's like 9 miles, I think. But I dont think there are any waterfalls. They have carriage tours, and you can see the round rock. It's like new orleans in the night. Bars just rocking. Ppl everywhere. It's fun to spend the night, and hit the bars.

First plant chopped Oct 6th was an original diesel ( dry bud pic and hanging buds and the purple one) that yielded 12 oz. Left 2 sunshine daydream plants and honestly thought they would rot on the vine with the weather we had the last 3 wks. They were frosted at least 4-5 times, snowed on, and WHIPPED by the winds !! But low and behold they’ve made it to the finish line without a gram of rot or a spot of PM !!! This strain MUST be real PM resistant cuz my cukes 2 ft from the one plant got ate up by it EARLY in the summer. Probably chop em mon night. Congrats to everyone who pulled through and best of luck to those with plants in still !! Been a fun summer watching everybody’s plants grow up !!!

Nice Haul Beazy. The finish could have been a little warmer at night but this year came out pretty well in our neck of the woods. I've been in trim jail for a while.
