Aquaponics Outdoor Grow. Seed to Harvest.. hopefully?!? 🇹🇹

Hey there everyone. Welcome to my thread. I will be documenting my full grow using my own seeds I created via breeding ( strain unknown lol). Hopefully they don't turn out to be all males .

So far I planted the seeds 2 days ago.. and some is already popping.. so excited for this run.. please enjoy the photos and hopefully all turns out well..

Curious to see how this goes.

I tried aquaponics at my farm with tilapia - It was a miserable failure. It seems to me like the needs of the fish and the needs of the plants are somewhat similar, but not close enough for it to be a closed system. The amount of fish you need to produce waste to feed the plants is pretty high. And then with the pool being open to the air / sun - you add nutrients and they almost before your eyes become algae. It's a balancing act for sure.

I'm following along because I hope someone figures this out - might as well be you! Good luck.

Thanks for the support. You are very correct in your deduction. Aquaponics in a closed loop is not sustainable.. reasons being like all things there need to be a purge in order for everything to be healthy. In Aquaponics it isn't the lack of nutrients that causes plant growth problems.. it the accumulation of Nitrates faster than others nutrients that crashes the system. The Nitrogen ratio to everything else is way too high.. coupled onto the high pH.. is a recipe for disaster.. so to combat this you need to have a purge of water from your system to balance the Nitrates off.. however the curse becomes a blessing when you use the water for coco grow. By pumping the Aquaponics water into a small reservoir that you use for daily watering.. you can treat the pH and add additional nutes to balance off the water for better quality grows. Atleast in theory.. to daily water acts as your system purge at the same time. So after a period of time.. you can naturally balance off the system so you will not need to add supplemental nutrients any more..

Good thing I am growing in coco.. just have to flush with nutrients and all good. Here are the pics of the seedling.. they are growing!!

On a side note I switched 5 of my females to flowering.. stretching already started. Very excited to see them bud!!!

My pride and joy !! My first every clone is going to flowers. Such a proud moment .

Also still have a female finishing off her budding. Hopefully no bud rots.. soo much rain..

Cool day.. no rain.. no hot sun.. bess I get some more work in

Not much today. Same rain again.. doesn't affect their apatite..

So day day 4 from popping the beans.. I got 10 of 13 seedling emerging.. seems to be growing well.. but the rain is giving me a very hard time..

A seed that I planted over 2 weeks.. just popped. I forgot about it and all of a sudden I see life.

Did some low stress training on my clones.. Accidentally broke off a branch so I decided to put it to clone.

Day 6... finally a day of sun.. lost 1 more seedling to the rain. However the other seems to be coming along nicely.

The girls that was switched to flowering has started to show very early signs of flowers. Excited about thar alot. Clones starting to grow some nice roots. Got to plant out those soon. Here are some pics.

So the rain decided to stop an hour later. Took the opportunity to put in work on my other plants. They are growing!!! Flowering after a week of transplanting .

Good morning all. So I have Transplanted the seedling into their final pots. Doing a bit of a strain hunting and at the same time trying to get a pheno that's close to the starting male I crossed. So I'm going be looks and scent of stem rubs.. and hopefully it also is a female. Wish me luck!!

DAY 8. Folks we got rain.... 🌧 again.

Seedlings are still doing their thing. Nothing much more to report. Guess no watering for today.. yea right still going to water this evening to flush those rain water out.

Also doing some work in my vegging area.. so had to move my 5 females (ones on the left on the ground)to my flowering area.. temporally..

Gosh I love the BIG Indica dominant girl.

STORM!! Has hit again.. can't even leave my home for 2 days straight.. this was the worst year of rain.

I'm saying that.. the seedling suffered some rain damage but they seems to be getting bigger.. and greener.

The girls that's in flowering.. are getting HUGE!!

To the Tomatoes.. flowers are getting bigger and clustering up. In a few days they really have grown.

Also harvested some cucumbers for a early morning eats.

Day 12. Finally some hot sunshine . Some seedling are performing better than others. I already have my favorites that I want to choose to grow out. Hope they turn out to be females.

Leaf rub tells me that their scent is very similar to the male strain that I had crossed.. also they seem to have a bit of indica in them. Male was a hybrid.

They are putting on a bit of size with the sun and all. Cheers .

On a side now. WE ARE OFFICIALLY IN FLOWERING!!! EXCELLENT!

I'll start today as DAY 1 of flowering. Can't wait to see what these girls will become.

Day 14. Lost another seedling to the rain. But it's OK.. survival of the fittest. Nature will select what she want to nature.
The rest are looking good so far. Started to up their feeding ppm. ( not diluting the Aquaponics water by half anymore). They seems to be taking it like a champ.
