Due to some circumstances I had to leave my plants in veg for 7 weeks vs 3-4 week which caused my plants to be almost twice the size as I normally would have them before flowering, I feed very conservatively I keep my temperature and humidity in check I keep my power down and my lights high gradually increasing them I’m thinking my issue is from growing in 1 gallon pots in the plant getting too big then once it hits the flowering stretch point I noticed it happening about two weeks into flower. PH spot on my EC is about 1.6 with feeding my flush pH is spot on I always feed to flush with soil ‘50/50 topsoil and perlite, to prevent buildup Any suggestions or experience with this would be greatly appreciated I cut open one of the pots to examine the root ball and it’s pretty much a mass of roots in the 1gallon soft pot, pictures included. Cheers

Kinda difficult to tell from the pics without more info on strain, nutrients used etc. Since you mentioned you're growing these in 1 gallon pots is it safe to say you're watering every day? One possible cause for this could be overwatering, which if you're watering every day could be something to check. Generally the plant does best when it has a wet/dry cycle. If it's in a 1 gallon pot and you're watering it every day you may not be giving it the cycle it wants to perform better. If the roots are generally kept wet from overwatering there's less oxygen in the root zone as well. I also notice some

You mention a lot of things you're doing there. That mass of roots is likely due to the cloth pot which is what it's designed for so the good root ball is a good sign. Unfortunately growing a plant to it's mature size in such a small pot is going to present challenges.

Again, not knowing the strain etc. I would say this about it in general, the plant itself from the pics appears weak. I may have missed what week of flower you're in but it looks like it's past a week. The trunk appears somewhat thin and there's some red veining you're getting there that could be genetic or it could be from light or nutrient stress. Just guesses.

At any rate, without more info I'd have to say it's a watering issue. It appears to only be happening on new growth and there doesn't appear to be a toxicity issue with nitrogen. If you are feeding too much nitrogen you should be seeing some darkened green leaves along with the clawing. Nitrogen is one of those nutrients the plant will continue to uptake and store regardless if it needs it.

A one gallon pot is FAR too small to be growing cannabis. The smallest you could get away with IMHO is a 3 gallon is you are using an auto flower.

But what type of soil are you using? Because I know nutrient issues when I see it. Those top leaves looks crispy. Your leaf stems are a reddish purple indicating a magnesium issue. It almost looks like they are getting too much of some nutrients (nitrogen) and not enough of others.

So to help you I will need to know your soil type and PPM of runoff. Because it looks like possibly you haven’t been watering properly. About 1 third of what you water the plant with should come out of the bottom and be REMOVED as run off.

Also you could be causing your plant stress as it is likely to become root bound in a pot that small (if it isn’t already)

Looks like it got n tox at some point but some new growth looks ok hard to tell . Ph fluctuations could do something similar but im still learning myself just tryna help lol, did you switch to flowering nutes?

And what’s the temp there. That could well be heat stress.

It could also be from to much wind. Happened with my last grow, looked just like this and i thought it was Nitrogen overload but when i pointed the fan at the wall instead of on my plant, she picked back up in just 2 days.

I certainly thought it could be that as well but when adjusting my fans I had no change unfortunately but I appreciate you taking the time

My temps are 70 to 75 my RH is 45 to 55 my first thought was it was getting pressure from the lights but even after lowering the intensity from 65 back to 50% and raising the light I had no change in the condition. It’s really been a stumper for me

Yeah I run my nute schedule pretty strict with the veg to flower schedule my pH was in check both in my solution and run off. My EC you got a little high not terrible but I thought it would be worth flushing which I did and had no change I’m gonna run that strain again with the same set up but in a larger 2 gallon pot and see what happens. I will let everybody know once I get it set up and see where we are probably another 3 to 4 weeks I appreciate you taking the time, best of luck with your grow!

That’s my assumption as well normally I would have no problem in a 1 gallon pot but getting such a late start my plant was double it size and veg the strain is Runtz, it’s also growing Kush runtz kuntz in the same grow with the same set up with no ill affects at all. It’s been jumping since day one leaves praying and rocking. The kuntz however grows much more spindly Hass to be in a trellis to hold up the weight once it starts stacking. The Runtz is much more Hardy thicker stalk branches bigger leaves etc. typically with my set up I would water every other day but since they got so large I had to water every day especially during stretch which you asked this is week 2 of flower. For feeding I use Foxfarm big Bloom grow big and tiger bloom at 1/3 strength, average EC 2.0. I also add calmag, half a teaspoon per gallon. I always feed to flush minimum 10% typically about 20% for a good runoff my pH I fluctuate between 6.1-6.6 in my solution and runoff is always in check with my PH solution. I didn’t include pictures but I had three strains the two I mention in the other was a cheese a UK cheese, that also grows very hearty thick branches and stems same exact set up identical and had the same issue at the same point about one week into flower. Only thing I can think of is the Kuntz which grows a lot less hearty smaller branches stems leaves did not get the pressure in the small 1 gallon pot that the other two strains did. I appreciate your time have a great day.

Also in case I did not include it I’m growing under Gavita 1700e lights, the issue started at height of 28 inches above canopy and power on 65% aprox 500ppfdi

No crispy leaves no burnt ends leaves are still green and pliable. I was feeding two point OEC and getting 2.0 to 2.1 flush the seI was feeding two point OEC and getting 2.0 to 2.1 flush ec no pH fluctuations. Soil is 50%happy frog 50% perlite. I flush the hell out of them because I assumed it was a nitrogen issue myself but with my PC being stable from the solution to the runoff seen them likely but I did flush just in case. Aprox 500ppfd at 28 inches Gavita 1700e it was definitely finicky to the light compared to my other strain in the same grow, but I got a good balance between the two and definitely not a light issue.

Did all my Lali popping in veg before flipping and did not do my first day foil until day 22 of flower, I’ve included some photos showing what they (Runtz) look like now and what (Kuntz) growing next to it looks like also. Cheers

I'm just learning about the role of vapor pressure deficit in getting nutrients from the soil to the cells where they're needed. If the plant can't take up nutrients, or is forced to take in too many, due to vpd,, you can chuck nutes at it all day long and still have deficiencies or excesses. Or so I understand it. A quick calculation of the temperature and relative humidity you provided gives a 1.38, which causes a stressed plant. The vpd for that particular plant may be different for any number of reasons.

Yeah I tried upping and lowering the VPD to no avail. My ac infinity 69 gives VPD thankfully. Appreciate your input, cheers

I have the same issue going on , with one of my durbans , it's been the slowest growing on of the lot , it was also the closest to my AC Infinity fan, I moved the fan, and no new leaves have done this . But the three closest to the top of the cola, look permacurled
