damn lol i thought i was getting better! i’ll go even slower next time. need to learn some more patience but i just felt the bag and it does feel like the water got everywhere.

does it happen in non fabric pots?

Yes, you just dont see it run out the side, it will run off the soil and down the side of the plastic pot and then out the bottom. Happened last night with my plastic pots actually

so in a sense the regale pots work better than fabric pots? since they don’t leak out the sides?

I prefer fabric any day. Much better airflow to the roots in fabric.

ahh okay that makes, just need to be more patient with the watering. i think my problem is i don’t really have much room in between the soil and the plant. how do i get more space or make my stalk bigger if that makes sense lol

Growing photoperiods will solve that issue lol. No internal timer so youve got all the time in thw world to veg. I usually take the first set, and sometimes the second set of branches off

okay that makes sense, i’ve never been good with photo periods i had one my first grow and it ended up a hermy and had males spores all over so i tossed it

might try one in the next few grows

Thatll happen sometimes. My auto i have right now is a heshe. Had balls and pistils. Plucked the balls off and let her ride it out. Photos are much easier than autos too.

Its really the only thing i hate about fabric pots.

Same haha that’s why I switched to buckets lol, I still water really slow though about a liter at a time and I do each plant then do 4 rotations like that spaced apart about 5 minutes if I have time, if I’m rushing I skip the wait and just hit them all in quick rotation but I get wayyy more runoff vs absorption

Yeah i usually split a gallon between 5 plants, get more water, wait 10-15 minutes and split the gallon again. I do this 4 times so watering takes me about an hour, but i hardly get runoff which is good imo cause i run organics.

Yep nice and slow! Slower the better even if aiming for runoff or a flush so everything is equally saturated and is flushed equally and thoroughly.

They only leak out the sides if you pour your water too quickly and too much.

I use a garden sprayer on my autos (my photos are auto watered and I don't do anything to them in regards to watering anymore). What I do is mix up 2 gallons in my sprayer, then typically for me, I have 2 plants that need watering at the same time, so I'll start watering one of them, turning the plant as I water. When the top layer is nice and saturated, I'll switch to the next plant, and then repeat until the grow bags are nice and heavy. I get very little run off, and takes about 10-15 mins to water the pair (they're in 3 gal fabric pots, 5 gals would take a little longer).

I prefer fabric grow bags because it's easier to tell if you're being aloof while watering, whereas plastic pots you won't be able to tell so easily. That's just my preference, though, and there's no wrong container to grow in.

yeah i may have gotten a little over zealous with todays watering. but the bag does feel very well spreaf out. i did start going slower when i saw it coming out of the bag. and yeah i do like those bags a lot better. i used to grow tomatoes in the plastic pots i do prefer these

If you end up leaving your nutrient mix in there, it may settle at the bottom, so just give it a good strong shake to get it mixed back up.

I also removed the nozzle cap to open it up a bit to water a little faster. You can still control the speed by not depressing the lever as far, but even "full blast" isn't too much.

I sometimes moisten the soil surface with a sprayer, but usually just slowly pour a little water over the surface and let the soil soak it in.

okay yeah i think i might try and use my sprayer to get the top wet and then finish the watering/feeding

also the hairs are turning like an orangey color is that normal?
