My lovely wife and I are anxious to have new furry friends back in our lives again, after losing our last one, Butterscotch, to natural causes.

Butter was amazing and brought balance, love, peace and harmony to our lives.

It is truly amazing how they affect your physical and emotional state in positive ways.

Butter always calmed my normally hyper disposition.

I am wired to race through life with little ability to control my OCD, anxiety and well...just plain ridiculous over thinking and paranoia about details and finite mansplaining, as seen here and in most of my posts.

My mind just won't stop racing and my body takes a toll through osmosis with regard to how I can't just slow things down and...be in the moment.

I am either planning for my next move or judging my last.

BUT! Furry friends don't judge me. They don't analyze me. They don't care about the bullshit!

They just love unconditionally.

We can't wait to have that back in our lives.

Once we put some projects behind us and are settled, and can provide the very best life for new furry friends...its on!!!

We will be getting two kittens and a puppy. They will grow up together and become part of our family. We will be available to them all day every day, as we are retired. We live in the country and will have so much fun exploring and just hanging out, enjoying life together.

I saw two reels online that I can't wait to do.

One is where you put on a pullover hoody backwards and place your kitty in the hoody. Then your baby is cradled there, purring and cuddling.

The other is, installing various types of items in your home that are designed specifically for furry friends activities. Nothing a human would ever use, but instead the intent is to have a sort if hybrid home that supports their lifestyle and yours. So these items are, to an extent, what they will use, not you. While your on your treadmill, they use their treadmill. Not a great example but to suffice to say, you will be providing things found in the wild that they have evolved to expect in their lives. Things like elevated platforms, simulated tree trunks, edible plants, small spaces hidden away, hanging limbs or nets, rope bridges, pull ropes, heated or cooled flooring accessories that mimic out door environments like the cold ground in the winter or warm sand in the summer. The list is endless. The upside is they won't care about you furniture or curtains lol. They will be so busy playing with each other and you, that maybe just maybe, they will stay off your counter tops and out of your guitar amps and such.

No worries here about furry friends and what they may or may not get into. We raised two lovely children and they have children, so we have experienced it all.

Let the games begin.

Fur babies are the best, I had a big Boi named Scotch, his mama was named Butterscotch, same pretty beige color. He lived to almost 18, I had him since I was 12... was more like a dog than a cat, took walks in the woods with me, played fetch.. much like my boy cat now. Here's a pic of my old boy Scotch that was taken the summer before he died. He's buried down by the river under a special tombstone I hade made for him. Hard losing a friend after almost 2 decades, even if they happen to be covered in fur.

We rescued his mama from a heavy machinery garage during a snow storm, covered in grease, cold and heavily pregnant... and she gave me my little fur bestie.

So after reading up further on what I hope are more reputable sites it seems like drying either way is fine. However doing it upside down does have a few more benefits.

Protects buds better
Keeps moist in longer for slower dry
(Above can also be a problem)
Everything is tight and same direction

Although it seems some larger operations will hang both ways with larger buds hung right way up to stop mould and moisture build up.

“The advantage is the water in the stem helps it to dry slower. With giant colas we hang them rightside up with unbent paper clips as the hook to hang them by. The big buds can rot from the inside when you dry real slow. The small regular size buds go upside down. The big buds dry faster and open up allowing air to circulate and not rot. The big and little dry in the same amount of time this way. It helps when you have 200 outside plants to dry and want them out of the way for the next load to be brought in. First load gets trimmed and finished in paper bags as 2nd gets brought in and dried, then ready for trimming, etc., etc.”

Probably best to start with cool temp and low humidity, get the drying process going, then slow things down for good curing.

We are so ready.......like I'm ready today. It's been over 2 years since we lost our dear Cali...

Since '86......Tiger, Oscar, Stacey, and Cali. They all overlapped at different times and all made it to 18 or close to 18. Scotch looks like a cool cat...

You need to come over for an omelet some Saturday. I cook a wicked omelet and clean out the fridge at the same time! We go through some eggs!

I mean.....I eat them on occasion.....and of course they're necessary for various recipes, but once my mind goes to "unfertilized chicken fetus with placenta.....".....that does it for me.

I should probably eat healthier....

I can't eat when I wake up. It takes me a few hours. I mean, I just had dinner.....of course, being 53 is different than 23. Once in a while we'll go out and have a big breakfast. That's another thing......cooking, grease, dishes.....pass.

I rarely eat eggs myself. I do love some slow cooked cheesy grits though. Went to Ashville, NC once, best grits I've ever had.

About 25 years ago my wife, daughter & I returned after a camping trip. I stopped at one of the diners we like on the way home as we didn’t have breakfast yet.

Must have been a new cook because her eggs came really runny. Looked like snot.

She used to love eggs and now she can only eat them hard/soft boiled or in egg salad.

Yeah i dont usually eat breakfast, if i didnt eat dinner the night before i will have something when i get up cause i usually feel like vomiting.

Whatever the next meal is, sometimes I just won't eat, or drink water, and someone will ask "aren't you hungry?". No.....I just ate 6 hours ago, I'm still digesting that. My body doesn't need to crunch food 24/7. Of course, it depends on how much activity I'm doing. Working out makes you hungrier. And in the summer, when it's hot and humid......I'll have a piece of fruit and some water, salad.....a handful of granola.....and I'm good.

You know what will teach you to eat light? A concert festival.......spend a weekend eating pizza and burgers and such, with only port-o-sans... ;).

Long day here today. Picked up two fresh spayed cats from the vets, Bad Girl my cat was supposed to board as she is so mean I was afraid I could not get her post surgery meds. They called yesterday evening and told me they couldn’t handle her and believed she would heal quicker at home. Yup.. my cat kid got kicked outta the hospital. Lawd.. I warned them she was mean, they said they could handle her.. So…
Ive Fimming, lollypopping and some scrog tops to drop this evening andddddd I have a homemade lasagna in the works. No rest for the wicked right? I swear I don’t remember being THAT bad.

No not at all. No interest. I’ve tried! It’s not that she’s so bad, it’s just that she loves me and nobody else. And I do mean, nobody else. Well maybe she’s a tiny bit bad. My Daughter and grand daughter have been staying here while she has a house built. The cat comes downstairs in the morning, smacks my daughter, my grand daughter and then their dog on her way out!

Until I became an adult (and occasionally after) I was always in the midst of an everchanging cast of feline characters. I don’t understand how cats were ever domesticated. I guess it had to do with catching critters. They’re certainly not like a dog!
