hey hey hey lol that is too funny about the boots and was VERY much to do with me making the switch in the late 80s early 90s. If I was to go skiing or boarding this week the chances of injury from boarding are MUCH higher to me even though it has been 10-20 years since skiied. Falling on my wrists or elbows which is basically all day when you board just from even sitting down, won't fly for me anymore. Give me some poles and skiis and now I'm facing downhill instead of sideways and I can see that working. If yall ever come out to AZ we can hit Snowbowl, Sunrise, or leave AZ and do Big Bear and Snow Summit in CA, or Fk it let's make a 2024-2025 FarmaPalooza trip and meet in Breck.
Funny story. My short nickname is Lopez. The full version is Coco Lopez Martinez Rodriguez. I got that nickname from a time we went snowboarding and I had only boarded I think maybe 5-10 times ever. I was my brothers +1 for a wicked work trip party to Sunrise. On the last day, last run, 4 of us stopped to smoke out in the woods. We had planned to hit the snowboard park one last time and a part of it was right in front of the lodge. We took our time and basically were the only ones left on the runs at this time. My brother went first and pussed out and basically didn't even take the last jump. It was one of those table top ridge-line jumps maybe 6-7ft high and 15-20ft long. Now it was my turn. I fkin tucked and didn't really let up. I hit the jump and immediately knew I was fked. As I flailed my arms and tried to keep balance I realize the entire jump is no longer below me and also the landing for if cleared the whole thing is now gone too. I must have anything remotely close to a safe landing zone by about 20 ft. When I landed it felt like a shotgun blast of needles to both feet but I landed it and then fell over like a log. That is when I realized the entire lodge was filled with the 20-30 people we were with and they saw the whole thing. They all come pouring out clapping, laughing, and cheering. That night my board was placed above the fireplace and I was known thereafter as "Coco Lopez"

I just got a pair of K2 Mindbender twin tip skis last year so once things calm down a little out west I'm going to try and get out there for a few pow days and maybe work on my nose and tail butters on the groomers!

Hell yeah man i love me some twin tips, butter it up! I havent looked at the season this year out west, i assumed not much snowpak? If you end up hittin up the slopes have fun bro. I got a pair of Faction Prime 3.0's and they are so fricken fast they scare me. Took em on some gnarly alpine backcountry terrain in Crested Butte couple winters ago and they let you ski some scary shit with confidence. I'll post some of my ski vids when i get a chance. Now i am jonesin to hit up some slopes, though in VA our options are pretty bleak haha.

Yeah dude snowboarding boots are so damn comfortable. I just cant get into boarding cuz i spent way too much time and money on skiis haha. Maybe i'll give boarding a try one day but for now its 2 sticks no bricks lol.

I really need to get a new set of boots. The Langes I have now are almost 15 years old. I saw some boots the other day on line with some sort of weird round thing thats like a cable reel and it laces the boots like a snowboard boot. BOS or BOA or something like that.

Cant go wrong with a nice pair of k2's, the ski's and boots. Your thinking of the BOA system and i love it on my Full Tilt boots. The boa system + the walking feature to free up your ankles and your gonna notice ski boots have come a long way. Still, snowboard boots have em beat, generally cuz they dont need such extreme side support like ski boots.

Also some fresh lemons and limes obviously, bit of salt... make a giant pitcher of those and head to my river... ahh yes... good summer days indeed.

Our summer

The Palmita (cross between a Paloma and margarita):

1/2oz fresh lime juice
1/2oz fresh lemon juice
1oz Orange juice
2oz tequila (a reposado is preferred but a blanco is close second)
4oz Grapefruit soda (like squirt)
Pinch kosher salt

Mix juices and tequila. Pour in soda top with salt and ice.

Mexican Artillery:

1/2oz agave simple syrup
1oz fresh lime juice
2oz tequila
4oz club soda or lime flavored sparkling water like spindrift
1/4 to 3/4 of a fresh jalapeño sliced (depending on preferred heat level)

Put first 3 ingredients in a glass.
Add jalapeños and Muddle throwly.
Add sparkling water and top with ice.

Turn it into an American Artillery but substituting sparkling water for Corona or Land Shark

Simple ranch water:

2-4oz Tequila
4oz sparkling water (we like lime spindrift)
1/2oz fresh lime juice
1/2oz simple syrup

Mix’er up and let them flow

I'm learning the hard way I must avoid it entirely. Something goin on inside my gut and alcohol now dehydrates me to the point that the next day can be such a pain in the ass(pun intended) that it is far from worth it. I'm only 48 and yikes, never thought I'd have to stop drinking because of my butt

I'm only 38 and have similar issues. I went super hard in my younger years. Cannabis more than makes up for drinking imo. Just wish we could enjoy flower in more public places. Vaping carts isn't my favorite but it sure is convenient and I don't always want the full effects of edibles. I guess I could eat less edibles but now we have circled back to the whole self control thing lol.

For me it was 100 proof Southern Comfort until I discovered Hennessy. My group of friends all had very irresponsible alcoholic parents who would supply us and we took full advantage.

Thanks for the candy shout out. I tried to demystify the hard candy process. It was intimidating for me the first time for sure. And now I'm at the point where I came home half drunk the other night and decided to make a batch that didn't finish till around midnight when I had to work the next morning lol

i only drink casamigos tequila because i get literally 0 hangover. i always joke with people when i break it out and tell them if they feel hungover tomorrow ill give them $10. I have a decent sized bar but it stays big because in reality i really only smoke. I drink socially but it's pretty rare anymore.

anything it seems anymore gives me stupid ass heartburn so i just accept it and carry tums with me whenever.
