20/4 is the established regime to do autos. It's not mandatory but many breeders will use it so it stands to reason it's accustomed to that. Higher DLI or less PPFD for same DLI also has some PRO arguments.

Been doing 24/0 alot for seedlings until all are popped to guarantee they always see the light right away. And for revegging. Some early flowering mothers also need that.

C3 type plants don't need dark periods. It's the total DLI that they cant handle. It's why a low watt light can do 24/0 without issue. I give it darkness during the warmest part of the day for temperature control purposes.

I’d say leave it at 24 unless problems come up. Lots of people have successful grows both ways and most are firmly committed to what they think is best. I’ve done both in veg with photo plants and couldn’t tell a difference good or bad.
If there’s no difference, why not go with the choice that saves money? Turn the light on or off, there’s no difference in growth. Is that what you’re saying?

Edit: I’m not being argumentative, just trying to understand. I don’t do autos.

@GNick55 do you use Autos?
Hey Ky, I've grown autos a few times with good results on a 18/6 light/dark cycle. They need that darkness. Yours look great and are just getting underway, so you've probably got 7-8 weeks of flower depending on how ripe you like them. GNick55 is exactly right about the timing, just make sure the lights are on a timer and you're good to go. Patience is the hardest part, lol! Great job so far!

@Oldguy71 so you are just saying keep it the same then? And don’t change the light cycle

I haven’t got that much heat where I’m at the weather is crap so I will just do it at night time switch the lights off.

@Sparky1980 Hi mate, thank you and you think I have 7-8 weeks left of flowering that is ages away feels like this has been growing for agessssss.

I will definitely keep the timings correct.

Thanks

Save money but have to remember every night to turn off lights and close things up, leave on 24 and forget about it.

Atami Bloombastic works well with my autos, 30ml per USgal waterd down or you will burn them, but yes good stuff.

@Oldguy71 so you think I should just leave it on 24 hours and forget about it

I’ve done the tests and yield vs Elyria cost 18/6 is the sweet spot for my electric company - autos do better with some rest period ! They will grow and flower under 24 hrs but y?
