wow man i can't believe its the weekend already!!! this week just flew by.

I saw hendricks appeal is on wednesday, i hope they get the points penalty taken away, i understand the suspensions and money but the parts passed in inspection, nascar saw them before practice and said they were ok, then after practice they collected all of the louvers. larson and those other drivers never qualified or raced with modified parts so i hope they get their playoff points backs. we'll see.

yeah i have elliot too... gettin the big ol 9 shaft!!!!

just saw the dinger win!!!! weather there looked really nice man, much better than it was here raining all day!!! i hope you guys have a blast, the seats you got sound awesome, can you heckle the spotters from there? it looks kinda close.. but with wind and engines maybe they can't hear.

i can't wait to hear about it man!!! it's pretty awesome when you can just drive home at night and come back the next day without camping or hotels. we get to do that with pocono.

i'm a little jelly of the tailgating you got going on. although i am not jealous of the traffic, lines, and waiting you're gonna have to deal with!!! i'll probably still be sleeping in bed when you're fighting all that BS... yeah i won't get to see a midget shot out of a cannon or anything cool but i'll be hitting my cannon in my PJ's!!!!!!!! hahahahahaha

go#5!!!!

Dude you would so love going to an event with me. When it comes to routes, entry, exit, and parking I'm like a savant and find ways to get in and out in minutes that take others hours to navigate.
And yep COTA is so close to where I live I can be parked in 20 minutes after leaving my house and leaving COTA I can be back home on my couch in about 30 minutes.
I do a lot of prep and map reading before going to things like that and the time I can be in and out always trips people out. One key I always find is the back gate to a place. Everybody likes to go thru a main entrance but if there's a back gate, that's where I go and I'll take backroads and drive thru ghettos to get to it rather than main hiways.

So the trucks and Xfinity double header was really good. We were in the park for most of the truck race but were in our seats to see Busch lose and Zane Smith with a burnout so epic his truck caught fire and was engulfed in flames on Victory Lane!
Xfinity was good and the cup drivers who were in it dominated.

Sunday the crowd was huge! Daniel Suarez was clearly the fan favorite. The line at the Trackhouse Hauler was 4 lines and 50 people deep while all other haulers had little to no wait.
A lot more concessions and food trcuks, bars, and shady hangouts for a great time off track than last year.

Turn 1 is the place to be at COTA. The action there is non stop. Even during the flyover. The fighter jets do a flyby over the main grandstands but also fly over turn1 and being up on that hill we felt the heat coming off those jet engines.
And seeing those cars enter that turn 4 and 5 wide just never gets old.
TV is way different experience as we watched it last night when we got home. That turn1 hill doesn't look nearly as tall and steep on TV as it is in reality. And man on that backstretch straight away those cars are crazy fast like they are up at Texas Motor Speedway.

Yep we were a stones throw away from the spotters. We were walking to turn 3 for a panini sammy down there at a food truck I'd heard about so we walked behind the spotters when they were getting into position. I saw that Mahindra suit on one guy and yelled out "Let's go 14!" Go get that win today!" Dude turned and smiled so he heard me haha!

That place is so huge, like the size of a major airport, so there's lots of spots to step aside from the crowd and light a fatty. We didn't drink at all due to heat and having to walk like 5 miles inside the park. Some people were getting zapped by the heat and too much shitty expensive beer. My flask just stayed in my pack and we opted for drinks later at home rewatching the races.

IDK what's up with Bubba and Larson and what that was all about. Or Hamlin spinning Larson right after thinking he was going after Bubba but he was just trying to get into pit row. Ya know I like Reddick a lot but dang that 23XI group is off. Fucking drama queens man. But I did enjoy seeing Bubba punch his car and storm off all pouty haha. Kezlowski, Logano, and the Dillons finished right where I like to see them finish.
Only thing that woulda been better if Busch's motor woulda blown on him and get a DNF.
Suarez might have to sit a week after his pit road shit.
I was also happy to see the RC ringers were really not all that competitive. Saw #5 school the former F1 champ #91 a few times in those turns. I think that guy was quoted saying something like that one race was like an entire F1 season in one day.

We had such a blast I hope NASCAR comes to COTA every year. I'm pretty sure it's on for '24 but uncertain beyond that. I know RC racing is like the red headed step child to folks who just wanna see the ovals and speedways but I like the change ups and especially COTA.
It also seems like the circuit really likes coming to Austin for our chilled out way of life and great food. Cool to see those teams enjoy it here. And it's funny how its a track getting known for bringing new fans to the sport now. The talking heads were saying if you're on the fence and not sure which race to go to for your first, go to COTA because it will hook you. And it's true! It did my wife and I and every time they interviewed first time race goers every one said they'll be back next year. Even a group from Canada of all places came down and got hooked hahaha!!
The track is demanding but the fast cars and good teams an drivers will prevail. Nobody can sneak their way to victory lane there..It will be earned.
I'd have to say this was my favorite race weekend I've done so far. The All Star race was really fun last year too but COTA had it all this year. Even bonus burnouts!!! For real Man! I heard Reddick did donuts at almost every turn after the race hahaha!!

man i can feel your excitement from here!!! reminds me of some of the unforgettable races i've been to. i've been to more races than i can remember but there are just those ones where everything is perfect not just the race or the outcome but the entire ambiance and experience factor. richmond night race, bristol, and charlotte all star week are my top three memories!!

that turn 1 at cota is just one of the best in the sport right there... i love how they go all in seven wide and get mad when they don't all come out in front!!!! hahaha

i saw suarez got a fine for his tantrum.. i get why he was mad but thats what happens sometimes.. i also saw larson got his points back!!!! his last wreck in that race broke his race cam so i didn't get to see that last green/white/checkered but man he must have been on a tear... when the 20 spun out right at the end larson was a lap down in 31st, he got the lucky dog and came in pits and put qualifying scuffs on, they were out of stickers.. restarted in 30th last of the lead lap cars and finished in 14th!!!

thats awesome you got the see the truck fire!!! at first he was like oh yeah let burn!!! then it got bigger and he had a look on his face like no no don't burn!!! hahahaha

i like the track though... i'd rather see them keep COTA and drop the ROVAL... and damn i wish they would get rid of that dirt race at bristol!!

that helmet is so badass bro!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i could never own one of those man, i'd be wearing it out on tghe trail and fuckin it all up!!! hehe

that stand up is just too much, you got that in your grow room right now, don't ya? ah man i might have gotten arrested for pissing on it if i would have seen it... i pissed on crusty wallace's hauler tire back in the day... he was/is my most hated driver! i can't stand that fucktard!!!

Man Suarez shoulda looked at the replay and he woulda known that was my guy Brisky who started that pile drive hahaha! I think when the 14 got spun in turn 1 earlier in the race the switch finally flipped and he found his inner Tony Stewart and is finally starting to dish it more than he takes it.
Sometimes some of these races with those tight turns make it a gladiator match and he's gotta be willing to go there and not wuss out like all the F1 and RC ringers who walked away crying. I don't wanna see fender fighting and door slamming every race but sometimes late in a race at a place like COTA it has to be done or it gets done to you.
Hey speaking of that truck fire...Monday morning they announced the preorder for that burned out raced version diecast truck so I had to order it😁

Man how about #5 and Richmond!!!! Another really good race. Happy to see 14 up there and the 20 came thru for me in the pool!!
BTW I picked up something for you at the Hendricks hauler last week I think you'll like...

IMG 0296

After this weekend I think it has some pretty good mojo. And yeah you're getting that Hemp Smoker's card for free chips & queso at Cheddars too after thinking I want his standup in my G/room hahahaha!!! I'll try to get this and a couple other things out in the mail asap.
And Buddy IDK about wearing those helmets around the house..They're mini helmets so they might fit your chickens hahaha!!!!

Good looking plants there Man and great to hear the cloner is back online!🤩

This week I have to change out the hot end on my Ender. That flexible ABS Pro just wreaked havoc on my shit. Clogged three nozzles and won't print worth a shit no matter what. Looked up tips and pointers on it and they all failed. Then I gave up but there was still goo from it up above the nozzle and then it all jammed up. Got as much out as I could but still not enough so I'm replacing the whole part.

Bristol Dirt Sunday!!! I actually like it because Briscoe has a great chance to take the checkered flag on a dirt track haha! In fact I picked him in the pool and now seeing some fight in the 14 my confidence is soaring with that pick.

Welp back to the grind of Spring football and baseball. Looking forward to getting Sunday off and actually having a full day off since Winter. Might be a good day to toss some ribs on the smoker and recruit the wife into making potato salad and deviled eggs. 😍
Take it ez this week bro!!!

it's just creepy how we're having the same issues with our printers. back when i first changed my nozzle and found the tear in the tube i guess i didn't tighten the nozzle enough and there was a slight gap between the nozzle and the small metal tube inside the aluminum block and filament was squirting through and because i have a rubber boot covering all that i didn't see it till it was too late and plastic was melted over everything... i cleaned it up the best i could and reassembled it all but didn't feel well about the condition i left the threads in the aluminum so last week i bought a new hotend assembly too. i didn't replace it yet but i know i'm gonna have to at some point and figured i'd rather have it on hand now then be without when it's down later. just strange how we had to buy the same parts in back to back failures!! but honestly i think this second one is all my fault and i didn't assemble it properly at first.

.
.
yeah yeah how about that #5!!! he got lucky for sure!! when the 24 wrecked i knew he had a shot then the crew got him out first and truex had only scuffs left i felt even better about his chances. that was messed up with truex though, i don't blame him for being upset at all... his team never told him they were scuffs, they just sent him out there. after the race he was like WTF?? and his crew chief told him he knew they were fucked so why even tell ya... ahhh why? because you're the crew chief and thats your job to communicate to your driver... dumbass!!!

i had to root for the 3 car in the pool.... dun dun dun!!! at least the 11 got caught speeding and i know a few peeps in the pool had him.

it was cool too because the tv, scanner, and in car cam were all synced up this week so that made it all the more fun. not sure if you noticed but now every car has an in car camera on race center. in the past it would only be five or six drivers had them, now all the cars post them every week.

but yeah Brisky had a damn good run, i didn't see what happened to him at the end but i saw he was in the top ten all race long, i think he might have had a great long run car and that late caution wasn't what he needed.

there are gonna be some salty drivers this weekend though... i hope there's a fight!!!! get some dirty action!!! i love bristol. not a fan of filling it with dirt, at least grow some plants in there if you're gonna do all that work!!! hahaha but dirt racing with windshields in stock cars is not my thing...
i like dirt racing, but on dirt tracks with dirt cars. i can't change it though, just be bitter.... i won't be the only one bitter though!!! feelers are gonna be hurt all up and down pit road on sunday!!!!

man i am so excited about the cloner bro!!! it's the cloner that made me fall in love with bare root clones and once it started leaking so much i decided to "upgrade" and tried a couple other cloners and never had success again. this was such a simple fix to, i wish i would have thought of it years ago!! all i did was took a plastic container that was the same size as the cloner lid and cut the bottom out and glued it to the lid making a four inch lip all the way around the cloner. so now the top few inches of the rez stay totally dry!!! i can even lift the lid up a couple inches without water spraying out to check the rez level.

the rez still had the heating mat that i used still attached to it and the thermostat i used was still set to the same temps i used back then so i just plugged it in and filled it with plain rain water and now what maybe only five or six days now and i have roots starting already!!! i have the cloner in my veg cabinet and turned the 275 on to 10% 18/6 schedule. i'm so in love again!! 😍

i hope you have a smooth week bother... i have a feeling the weekend will be here before we know it!!!

☠️

Ya know I don't think there's a better feeling mojo than cloning mojo. When that shit is on Man it feels like you can take over the world!

Well I got the hot end changed out and am back in business but damn...That job sucked!!!
So first off it was my bad for ordering the wrong hot end. Luckily 'Zon is great about returns and the UPS store to do it is just down the road.
So I got the right part in, ordered two just in case, and installed it today.
They could really make that job a lot easier with quick disconnects on all the wire. Maybe some instruction too because I had to go to youtube to figure it all out.
You have to flip the printer on it's side and take off two bottom access panels. Several wires are simple screw down and other parts of the harness have connectors to the motherboard. And that's fine but these fuckers put globs of hot glue on the connectors so they don't easily come apart. You gotta get in there with a fine screwdriver and pick that glue off then the connectors can be disconnected. Luckily it's not gorilla glue so it does come off kinda ez but damn. And you do have to be careful not to do any damage to wires or anything else.
Every one of those wires should have a disconnect on the outside because this is an obvious issue with the Ender 3. Even in the ad for the replacement part they mention this clogging issue being a reason to change it out and being a $50 part it should be a lot easier with less risk to cause more damage.
On the replacement one of the fan wires was barely soldered in and popped right off so I had to do some splicing using the old fan in the new housing since I'm all out of solder.
But after an hour or so all is well and my printer is back online doing it's thing.
I'm still a bit pissed about the ABS Pro filament. All I wanna do is print some dang dab jar jackets a bit smaller than the jar so they fit real snug because the hard plastic doesn't grip the jar as good...

IMG 4421

Basically just trying to add a layer of protection over the glass so when I drop them hopefully the next one won't shatter.
I'm gonna load up my miniprinter with the stuff and hope it works there. If it don't then oh well it only ruins a cheapy printer and not the beast. Kinda wish I read reviews about it first because only a few printers can work with the stuff and Creality printers are not on the list.

Man I wish I could tune into the Race Center and watch like you do with the radio and all that. I was hoping with the Bristol Dirt I could but work will be in the way again.
Dang weather pushed our baseball series into Sunday.
So I always end up watching the races on DVR Sunday nights well after they're over.
During that time I make sure I don't look at emails or internet because several teams email me when they win or I'll see a headline about who won. Luckily I don't know anybody who watches to spoil it for me but there's been a couple times I check my email and forget then I see something from Hendricks or JRM spoiling it for me lol.
Which reminds me I have the Kyle Larson Challenge on DVR still to watch on Flo. Briscoe and the hemp smoker raced in it so I gotta see what happened. Ol Brisky is also gonna race the trucks at Bristol Dirt so he'll be all filthy come Monday hahaha!!

I was watching RaceHub yesterday and they were playing a lot of radio from last years Bristol Dirt and yeah I think we'll see some road rage for sure! I had to laugh at Reddick because his team was pissed Briscoe went low and lost control spinning up into the 8 but Reddick came back and said he woulda done the same thing so no butt hurt on that one. Just sucked the hemp smoker whined and bitched all night then found his way into victory lane.

How about the pool huh? I'm movin' on up like The Jeffersons on that leaderboard!
Interesting picks this weekend. I thought for sure Larson and Reddick would be the majority of picks but nope. It's my chance to move up again if that 14 comes thru for me!!! Gotta get that red pony running!!!
But anyways I'm excited for another crazy race weekend. Gonna do a green chile sauce and rub on a pork tenderloin and smoke it Sunday. Also gotta recipe for deep fried deviled eggs I wanna try.
Take it ez brother and Happy Bunny Day Weekend!!!

Basically just trying to add a layer of protection over the glass so when I drop them hopefully the next one won't shatter.
I'm gonna load up my miniprinter with the stuff and hope it works there. If it don't then oh well it only ruins a cheapy printer and not the beast. Kinda wish I read reviews about it first because only a few printers can work with the stuff and Creality printers are not on the list.

yeah i saw that video on changing out the hotend wires... i said ehhhh... there is nothing wrong with my heater or thermistor so i might just leave those in place and only change out the aluminum block. idk, we'll see...

those jar covers are a really cool idea... bro get some TPU for those man, that stuff prints awesome, even smoother than plus!!! it's a hard rubber, well actually they make different durometer compounds of it so you can get super soft to hard rubber. and you print tpu and 205* so it's ez on the printer too.

is that what you use for your digital dippers? i use an old container from the weed store, maybe i need to make a protective cover..

man that late model race is badass!!! i don't wanna give anything away but larson and the pole smoker, i mean hemp smoker trade a little paint,,, that pole smoker even cuts larsons tire!!! great race though!!! i hope bristol doesn't get rained out... a tiny bit of rain would be great but hopefully it don't get washed out. i was looking forward to seeing practice, i'm sure all the teams were as well...

and yeah man your doing great in the pool, the leader has elliot this week too... things are tight thats for sure. i normally like to fall to the rear before i make my climb towards the middle every year!!!!! hahaha kinda like ricky stenthouse,,,

man they got bricoe p coletrain going off at 9:1 odds this weekend!!!!

the only downside of watching all the race center stuff with the tv is you gotta sit through the commercials!!

i was a member of an FOE bar club back in day and they would have race day where shots were $0.25 during cautions.. some of those bristol races man, you'd get torn up pretty quick!!!

emotions will be high thats for sure, hell i get fired up and i'm not even there!!!!!

i hope your game finishes up in record time so you can get home sooner!!!!

I would suspect the hot glue was to keep the connector from vibrating loose over time?
I got nothing to back this up, but rarely do manufacturers do more than what is necessary. 🤷‍♂️

Dude that is one nice collection of happy ladies. And those roots are going beast mode on ya!!
How you liking the LED run compared to LEC?

Yeah that's one of my new dipping jars. Found them at a head shop down the road.
I was using a black jar that came from you and your weed store since that was my only glass jar.

IMG 4294

I dropped it a few times and it nicked up a bit so I thought it was near indestructible until the last drop. I guess it hit just right and shattered so that prompted me into shopping for new jars and printing a protective cover for them. RIP cool little black jar!
I have two types of jars now. I like the small clear ones the most but the other does glow in the dark👽

IMG 4433

I ordered the TPU today. Got a multi pack of colors on small spools and then one big one in blue.
The little sleeve on the jar isn't 100% effective with the jar's lid off but with the lid on I think these jars can take a few falls and not shatter. Sounds like they might even bounce with the TPU hahaha!!
The ABS Pro is like silly sting or silicone. At first when I was testing it the spool was so heavy that when the extruder pulled the filament it just stretched instead of turning the spool. I fixed that by unraveling a few turns but that was the least of my issues working with it. From there it just all went bad.

Ran into more issues today with my printer. My desk has a tilt to it so I had the front end of my printer on wood blocks to level it.
Well the first thing I printed were new feet to replace the wood. I leveled it after adding the new feet but something went haywire and it started to act like it was clogged again and would only print on half the bed. So I tinkered and tinkered, went thru a few more nozzles, burned my thumb on a nozzle, then finally figured out the level was all out of sorts somehow so I cleared it all out and set it up again like it was new. That seemed to work and I learned a little trick about all that so if it happens again I know exactly what to to. Always something!
But once again it's back online and now I'm finally printing parts for my diecast garage!

I'm really not sure, they seem to be fairly snug, but maybe because the board is mounted upside down between vibration and gravity maybe??

but you're absolutely right, nobody does extra work anymore. every penny and minute is squeezed.

Thanks for the kind words!!!!

This grow has been different in a couple ways so far, and i can't see a vacuum job and new mylar is making the differences. I noticed the roots are much stronger and thicker, I credit this to a light/trinity combo. another change is a noticeable difference in stem size and branch strength. Leaf blade count is also up from normal. all signs of just overall better health and growth. something else here early in flower i notice the bud sites are thicker and more dense, the pistils just seem to look twice as thick. could just be the strains too... but all in all bro i am very happy with the upgrade, the only downside i can possibly think of is i'm using a few more watts so hopefully that translates out to the harvest and it won't be a downside at all, just a trade off.

but one thing i can say about this grow is the fun factor has been through the roof man!! going down to water the plants every night has been one of the highlights of my day. even now when i'm pnly watering once a week or so i'm still down there every night just to look in.

.

that sucks about your black jar man, i have some xtras here i'm gonna send ya... these square ones are kinda pimp, i think you'll like em!!!

TPU FTW!!!!

Came out exactly how I wanted and even a little better with an added surprise!
I made the hole about 1/4mm smaller than the jar diameter. That gave it a real nice snug fit so the jar doesn't spin when trying to take the lid off.
I used a 10% infill zigzag and the bottom is 5mm thick so there's an air pocket in the base that works like Nike AirMax shoes with the air in the sole. Now the jar has soft cushion to land on with that air pocket
So far it's passed my test drops so I think I have a winner!

I know what you mean about that fun factor all too well. I'm kinda tripping out what it's doing for my veggie starts. They look way better than the frail looking starts I'm seeing at stores. Well I guess really those starts look normal, just the ones I have under LED are supre broadleaf fat and everything is just thick.

Crazy shit last week between the 5 and 41!!! I gotta cheer for my girl Logano this week 🫤

That's a really cool blue, looks electric!! what brand is that? how were the other colors from the combo?

i can't believe you dropped it to test it.... epic!!!

.

man i am so shocked the 5 team won at martinsville!!! if it weren't for that last caution briscoe would have won that race. the restart before that briscoe drove right out of larsons life by turn one!!! i cheered when that last yellow waved.. without that we were 2nd at best. the 45 was faster but couldn't pass. I was all for the two tires, if larson wouldn't have beat the 99 off pit road it might have been a different ending. i think the 5 and the 99 were the only two cars on two tires, behind that were all four tires.

briscoe's interview was the best though... maybe we should break another finger!!! hahahaha i read today that his surgery was successful and he is now on the mend!!

burnin it down!!!

.
.
I'm not sure what the prices are like your way but around here veggie plants are expensive!!!! big stores like lowes and shit cost $7 for scrawny ones, $10 for decent and $15 for nice looking plants... freakin rip off. i need to get my ass in gear for my garden this year, been working on other things and didn't start any plants yet!! I'm ditching the grow beds and going all in on containers. earthboxes and a few fabrics!!
i just opened up the pond this weekend... my bio filter has been neglected for to long now so i decided to buy an all in one multi stage pressure filter. one that you can half bury and has a clean function and built in UV. back when i built the pond those filters were just getting popular but nothing was available for anything close to my size, ten years later and they've gotten bigger and better now. so i bought one that is over rated for my size and flow rate by double so i'm hoping that helps it perform well. we'll find out soon because it should be here wednesday!!

the secret garden is growing well, I'm approaching week four of flowering... fed them twice so far...

I haven't put the clones in soil yet but i plan to very soon. I'm going to try something different this time, i had really good success this round not using my SIP for veg and i think i want to try it without self irrigation for this round also to see how i like it. I plan to use the red bottom airpots.

I think you have been using zip ties to hold together your airpots before i even met you and I know old habits die hard and all... but if you needed any airpot screws i drew one up in tinkercad...

got any plans for 420?
