Redneck ac? In a grow tent?

So my grow tent is heating up and now I'm thinking of cooling options. Before I had my son, I had a gaming room with all sorts of gaming consoles and pc, and of course my weed stash dab pipes etc....well those ps4s and shit would run pretty hot and then getting out the torch...you're sweating. Well I made one of those redneck ac deals which was just a fan that blew into a Styrofoam cooler that I would put a frozen gallon jug of water in....then I had of course an exhaust pipe to blow the cool air my way.

Anyone ever try this with a grow tent? I don't think I'll need a whole lot of help since I'm in a basement so it's naturally "cooler" and I don't have an option to pipe in any ac.

What I do have is an intake fan going into my tent to help out my exhaust fan. I was thinking about maybe just building a foam box by the intake inlet that I can put my intake hose into.. then throw in a frozen jug of water and blow out the other side....nothing to restricting maybe just straight across the top of the jug and out so it don't cut my intake flow down a whole lot?

Any thoughts before I potentially waste 30 or 40 bucks I can't really afford to waste at the moment?
Sufficient air intake will cover all issues with ocelation down low to keep stagnant air moving! And out take of course and your away laughing aslong as that airs from out side comeing in no worries 👍

Im running a levoit humidifier it's pretty dope got wifi and an app I can control from anywhere...does the ac infinity have wifi?

Levoit humidifier, does good in 5x5

running a Vellgoo dehumidifier ...wanted one with a drain hose and after doing some reading it seemed like the recommendation was a dehumidifier that was strong enough to pull out all the water you would put in the grow space during a watering....so I figured 6 plants peaking around 5 or 6 gallons per watering or around 50 pints. I needed something decent so I went up in the wallet....$300 but I caught it for $200
It connects to a main controller that bluetooths to your phone or you can connect it to your router and access it from wherever you have signal on your phone and control it through a phone app.

I got a smaller humidifier. It holds 4.5L but I have my lung room fairly dialed into the tent that it won't have to work hard to stay in range and will allow me to really pin point my humidity levels. Click the link on my previous post. Cruise through the site. They got some interesting stuff.

I'm sipping ru and coke atm! But I mist say I live to get crafty hahaha craft beer is the best!
It can be, or the worst. 🤣

I stopped not long after the kids could walk.

Now that weed is legal it’s a new challenge and takes about the same amount of time.

Kids are adults now, got three grandchildren too.

Been slowly switching from alcohol to cannabis. Over the last 25 years. 🤣

But really cut back the last two. Still have the habit so use water or tea to keep hands busy. Vape for the rest.

Right on, yea I've seen sometimes the lower tier ac infinity stuff doesn't or atleast didn't always have wifi...one of my buddies got a controller that isn't online...but if I could get one that is I may switch eventually as well....mine has a 10% humidity range meaning if I want 55% I got to set it to 55% and deal with it going up to 60% then dropping to 50% before it kicks on again....I either got to get it hooked up to a little humidity controller for more accuracy or just get a new one at some point... maybe ac infinity is more focused on grow gear so maybe it holds tighter than a 10% range?

It definitely does have a smaller range, i have the older controller 67 without wifi and i wanna say it runs like a 2% range.

Wish I enjoyed drinking still lol. Last few times I drank I got heart burn so bad I couldn't even make it to the point of being drunk. My wife was a bad alcoholic and surprisingly I dealt with it while mostly just being on weed myself. She quit about a month after we got married in 2018. She hurt her back then got fixed up on pain pills for a year and looked like a nodding junky so once that was done I was ready for her to go back to alcohol but she didn't. So I don't really bother either. We had 2 shots together on new years in like 2021 and i think we both got heartburn and ended up just smokin out lol

That’s about what I observed. I have the 67 as it’s Bluetooth only. I have dumbasses in my hood that try hacking all the time. Got tired of fucking with them back.

Bluetooth reaches 30m approximately. Able to connect almost over all my property as house is in the middle.

Do you use the bluetooth on it? I have the app but i didnt bother using it cause after a while, my tents just do their own thing and pretty much stay the same all the time.

I’m almost always on it. I have both tents on T6 now.

I set the upper limits and put it on auto and walk away. Only low temps or low humidity are issues.

I just set mine up from the controller itself.
I turned low temp and low humidity off because if its low, my room is low so it just makes things drier and colder.

I never use the app cause everything is all preset and it just works.

If my grow room wasn’t the only way to the other rooms I’d make it a lung room. Sort of is anyway. When the dryer is on and vented inside for heat reclaim the humidity gets up but the 67 & T6’s have no issue.

I have the S6(?) booster fans with the dimmer switch I manually put on low for intake when needed. Wish they could connect to the 67 but the power dongles are always OOS. Think they discontinued to make you get the 69.

Ya, without a/c and a humidifier connected off or on doesn’t matter. I have mine off too.

Portable a/c is ready but haven’t had to MacGyver it yet. Keep waiting for wifey to tell me to put it back. 🤣

This the ac infinity UI? Does it let you run double triggers? Meaning my exhaust could kick on if it gets too hot and/or if it gets to humid?

I honestly hadn't seen all the ac infinity stuff when I was setting up my tent so some of the stuff I'm using is just shit I made work.

My main controls are 2 wifi smart power strips. I can set parameters for each plug on the strip...like if plug 1 is on plug 2 is off...plug 5 is my light it's on 5am to 11pm light schedule set thru the strip as well...it pretty much controls alot of what is turning on and off...

Got my exhaust fan on an intermittent timer bc a humidity controller for running exhaust didn't feel right for me because if humidity levels out then exhaust never circulates air...it works out well....heater is hooked to a thermostat controller with a rather tight heat range of +/- 1°

I think I just could really use a humidity controller to run my humidifier and dehumidifier and really dial them in better than their 10% ranges

If I got to get a portable ac any recommendations? my space is 5x5x6.5ft so like 150 cubic ft

Sensor push hygrometer looks like this that I use...had I known a little more about ac infinity seems like they combine my sensor push and smart strip.....just need one with like 10 or 12 plug ins lol

Yes, but not as straight forward.

I can have the fan off and go on at a set temp. It will shut down not long after temp is reached. (All is tied to probes location)

However when humidity’s also a trigger fan can go lower than desired temp to achieve set RH.

Same goes for setting humidity triggers. Without looking into more than 5 minutes it seems whichever trigger goes off pushes until set value is reached.

Most times this works for me. But the one quick look I made didn’t show a way to have the fan shut off if x temp is reached, same for humidity. So I set off for now. Haven’t needed to get back to it yet.

By setting up extra settings it can do some pretty cool things. The basement has to be pretty out of whack that the tent isn’t okay. That’s the only time I need to do anything.
