We have reds and grays here year round. The little flyers show up mid March and leave around the first part of September. Next on the list to return are the hummingbirds. I then become a sugar slave!My buddy for a couple years now.

Got red and black squirrels also but have not seen the flying squirrel in years up here.

awesome to hear. i feed the little squirrels in my yard too. I also have a few bird feeders. love the little finches. every once in a while we get a hummingbird.Another sign of spring. My flying monkeys are back! (Flying squirrel) I feed these guys and they return every year. I make suet for them and they love a can of veg all as a treat. This little guy is enjoying a bit of bothHard to nab a good pic as they are nocturnal and only show at night. You haven’t lived til you are stoned to the bone and have these critters flying round your head, landing on a tree waiting on dinner! They know exactly who I am and have been returning for over ten years now. I guess this officially makes me a squirrelly Momma

Whoa how cool it actually soars huh? When I lived in CO I bought 2 Sugar Gliders. They are quite similar in how they "fly" but actually are more closely related to kangaroos and other marsupials.
