I had to buy an oz to get me by to harvest and man going 3 months smoking my own versus this stuff…it’s night and day. Can’t wait to stop smoking this crap 😂

That real sour okie 🤤 I’d love to sample that
Hell yeah man, nothing hits the spot like your own.
This stuff turned out fire too. Sharp fuel taste with a sweet creamy coating that covers your whole mouth and throat.

Very potent too, I smoked three bowls last night and my mind was on fire and I was actually sweating lmao

That chem 17 you can smoke joint after joint after joint and be halfway high

Oh yeah, after being in a jar for a few days the Sour Okie #1 is starting to smell extremely similar to that Okie Wedding Cake bud @Trustfall
The fuel smell has dropped off and the bold creamy smell has taken over.

This one is straight gas though, at least for now

Yaaaa buddy! I bet it will be stronger. Any influence from the sour will benefit that strain except the sensitivity. And the okie seems to cancel out the se tube side being an easy grower. Maybe I’ll make a png kash okie 😅
Looking at the buds off your number to the gas will hold. It has with the other strains I’ve done. Plus longer flowering gonna be some fire dope to smoke!

Hell yeah dude the #1 pheno speaks to your easy grower point, all 5 were healthy and green at harvest. Grown in solos, by ME 🤣🤪

Lol PNG Kash Okie sounds amazing. @bigbagofbuds told me growing a nice sativa is a testament to one's growing abilities. I think I'm seeing that first hand with one of my png kash plants haha

Im starting to wonder if there's a direct correlation between these worm castings and these gangs of fungus gnats that are seeming to explode.

Im sure to let the tops dry out in between watering, I use diatomaceous earth often to to treat the top layer of soil, and I take extreme precautions to keep bugs in general out of my lung room.

The populations are getting worse now then ever, nothing crazy like some stuff Ive seen but it's getting to the point where I don't even want to water plants anymore.

I'm not sure what's changed recently but man I'm getting tired of gnats.

Between the happy frog soil, worm castings, other organic amendments, and the swamp outside ive no idea where to look

Theyre not causing any issues but fuck man gnats and flies are one thing I won't do

@CannaGranny
Told me to use potato slices on the top of the soil, change them out every 3 days. Has something to do with the larva. They feed on it and live inside if i remember right. So when you toss them out you throw away the larva and lessen the colony every time.

I tagged her in case im totally wrong 🤣🤣
Still kinda drunk from last night🫥🥴

You actually have what I said completely correct. I use that in conjunction with yellow sticky traps. Seems to keep it knocked down pretty well. The larva feeds on the potato slices, I trade them out every other day.

Hey bud, I can’t remember exactly but there use to be a no till organic guy here and I think he use to use neem cake for fungus gnats. Don’t quote me on that but if you research it you may find help.

I dealt with thrips before using spinosad, wiped them out super fast. Also works as a root drench for fungus gnats. I would suggest spinosad as a knock down then get some predatory mites to keep them away. Might get pricey getting everything but the spinosad will likely get you setup for a good knock down that is organic and non systemic so should be safe for flowering plants.

I've read mixed things about neem and hyperemesis so I didn't want to try those. Predatory mites and nematodes are a non chemical approach that will work but take longer and work better as preventative.

If you go spinosad make sure to read the label and try not to get a product that's a cocktail.

You think they aren't doing damage but they are you just haven't seen the extreme yet. If you want to play it safe, let these plants finish and then tackle the problem on the next go, try to be preventative but organics will always bring something along.

Hell yeah man thank you my friend. I really like the idea of the spinosad as a root drench. Something to get in there and put a good disruption in the life cycles.

I've been using the diatomaceous earth like I said but it doesn't seem to be doing anything. Nor the dry backs, or the soil agitation, or sticky traps, my "usual ipm regime" has failed lol.

I've never had this issue before so I have no idea what happened but I guess that's not the right thing to focus on.

Got me worried about the damage haha, I was just annoyed but I'm sure the larvae are feasting.

The only thing I can afford right now is the potato trick mentioned hahahah.
I'm just going to have to ride it out and figure things out for next time like you were saying.

In lieu of that I may ditch the plastic pots, always see them crawling in and out of the drain holes

89$ for these guys

The Beneficial Insect Triple Pack (Small) contains: Rove Beetle (100 Beetles) + Steinernema Feltiae Nematodes (50 Mil Tray) + Stratiolaelaps Scimitus (Hypoaspis Miles) (1/2 liter bottle - 12,500)

I'm not so sure it's the plastic pots playing a part to be honest. I can't say for sure though.

Yeah the predators aren't cheap either. Wait until your next fresh start and get them added to the top of the soil when you do a final transplant. To be honest I haven't had much luck with the nematodes but I've only tried them once, the Stratiolaelaps Scimitus and Rove beetles I have used and I didn't see the gnats come back after but they didn't do a whole lot for thrips pupea as a treatment, but should still work well as preventative. Thrips are a lot worse than gnats though so with any luck that's all you will need 🍻
