I found a pretty dam skunky specimen this current run. After trying dozens of strains over the years and hundreds of seeds the one single winner thus far is a 1990s Catpiss. This one pheno is way superior to all the other ones I have ran from the same seed batch. This little girl is still in veg and the stem rubs reek like skunk thiol. I think it’s got the ester genes. I’m excited about this one I think it’s gonna blow the carbon filters away once in flower 👌🦨
What company produced the seed you found it in if you don't mind me asking?
I know there is Skunk out there in the seed world.
People just have to take the time to grow out the older seeds to find those certain ones.
Glad you found one.

has anyone done these to maturity?

There was a dude a while back, he thought he was gods gift to growing, I can’t remember why, but he legit vanished. He was growing killer examples too, just very cocky grower. Haven’t seen anyone busting out the roadkill since….

Some of the Dutch strains still purport to be skunk crosses, which would mean someone has something they think is “it”.

Dutch Passion’s Mazar is an Afghan x Skunk, and they claim the parents vintage as 1997, as I understand it.

So, what’s that skunk?

I’m in Ohio and I bought old school skunk in 1990 from a guy in southern Ohio. Got 5 seeds out of a it and grew for 14 years many generations of it. Now I’m breeding it again. It’s close to what I had back in the 90s but something’s missing. I’ll figure it out in a year or two.

I’ll try to post picture. Not sure, not tech savvy.

This one. It’s gotta be the “Amy’s Cut”…

A lot of mine have those "long ass" leaflets. I think it's from some type of Haze in the genetics. (Neville's seed)
Usually, the taller phenos carry the Cat Piss esters. Others have a different opinion.
Cat Piss is a refined Skunk.
Do you get any fall colors. Mine don't.
They just barely turn a goldish tint.

Your stuff looks very close to what I grew for 14 years in the 1990s. Probably the same stuff. I’m in Dayton. I’m friendly, I m older now. We’re allowed 4 plants leagaly in the city.

I’m the real deal!
Don’t think you have the only real skunk. Some of us are quite. We stay shut up. I’m m getting older and care less. I walked into an older friends garage in north Dayton in 95 and there was 6 foot northern lights everywhere under 6 1000 wats hps and mh lights. This grower wanted my seeds.

I'm not doubting you.
All I'm saying is the Cat Piss is different in some way from the original early 80's.
I got my Skunk collection in 2001.
I never claimed to have the real deal Skunk.
I have Skunks that produce the esters and open pollinated to help preserve the genetics.
It's hard to grow them because of the stench.
Attracts unwanted attention.
