I had a 5ft stalk break of the main trunk before I had a trellis to protect the plant from wind. So I hung it and let it dry, jarred it to cure. Sampled a bud after it was only cured a week. It was a bit harsh and the buds are young; the bud delivered a good body buzz 😂

So i just scoped this, washed it in 3% peroxide with 3 parts water and drip dried. Can’t get trich pic but there is zero loss or change in the heads after a good dunking and soak.
Ok. I am slowly accepting that this practice may be at least non-destructive. When I saw gnick do it I guess I figured it must be legit. Still I dunno if I’ll do it. I still don’t think my weed is dirty. Or any dirtier than me.

Why not have a 5’ tall plant with 50 tops? I don’t get it. Crazy tall plants are hard to manage.

I've found if you let Grove bags do their thing they will.
Ok I been having to open it cuz somehow it got out of wack and the humidity is rising from 61 to 66 pretty quick...leaving it open for now

My bud is smelling fire tho no hay smell so that's a plus for the grove bags I think my buds just need more time to dry..I also have 4 huge colas not broken down in there. I've seen ppl say break em down but I wanted to keep the colas in tact

I trim any leaf stems, then wash and drip dry outdoors, then dry and cure indoors.
It's crazy cuz the last wash I did I only let them hang for the duration of me washing the rest so the last one didnt even hang long..I just shook the excess water off and brought em inside...think the fan speed up higher and exhaust fan made it able to dry right

So, with the bud washing, are y’all washing before fan leaf defoliation?
I trim like.half the fan leafs leaving healthy smaller ones closer to the buds to slow down the drying time but I do cut off the bigger fan leafs and any that arent healthy before I do the wash. I think this would come down to how your gonna be drying it and your personal preference.

My first grow in over 40 years, so I’m totally not very schooled in this process. The plants got to 8ft 🙄

i’m lazy and have enough to do… as long as whatever is left on gets washed.. also i want the leaves to cover the buds during drying in the sunroom..
I wash too, but I wet trim the big leaves and tips of the smaller ones. Does take a substantial amount of time, I'm averaging 1 plant down a day.

BTW, do you inspect for mold before you cut her down?
And I saw trees near your grow, I'm told the ones in the hedgerow near mine are the source of Septoria I battle every year. Do you have that problem?

i didn’t really have any issues this year, just like 10-12 small brown mold spots that i cut out than misted the cut area with peroxide, day of harvest i couldn’t find anything, when it’s dry and i trim it up we’ll see, i doubt there’s any..

Did you harvest the hemp this weekend?
No,
Testing lab rep. Is coming out to take samples tomorrow. Can’t cut the plants till that’s done, state rules. Plants have to be within the legal THC level before there cut down. If plants are over .3% THC plants have to be destroyed where they stand, or cut and burned.
