I’ve seen this before and I’m not sure why it happens can somebody chime in on possible causes for this. Shaking water off the buds after a rain to vigorously? Rough handling ? Combination of cold temps and handling
other than maybe damaged trichomes..
cystolithic trichomes do not have a head and are generally produce by the plant for protection from stress, uv-b… contains no active chemicals

Hmmm, that doesn't bode well, one of my plants looked like that. There was no sticky when I trimmed it, now I know why.

Beautiful! How do you keep your greenhouse cool in the summer? Assuming of course that you keep your plants in there.
I just use fans it has vents on the roof with hydraulics that opens when it’s hot and closes when it’s cool automatically . This is my second year with it. The heat makes a little stretch, but doesn’t bother me because it seems to fill in. These were seedlings in July. I’m in Colorado. We do get triple digit days but not too often this season. Was up in the 90s in august though. I think the rocks I have in there also help regulate heat a little bit. They get quite a bit of water also. I don’t really let them dry out. I think I turned the pump off for only 3 days this year to give them a little break.

I also did a postmortem. The roots were in the ground and did quite well.
We pulled them out of the ground with a tractor so I believe the tap root probably broke off.
BTW, I plan to burn the branches currently laying on the ground to try and get rid of any borers that have survived.
But they have to dry for a little bit.
