So back in 2009 when I had my medical card before recreational use was passed, my chronic dealer across the street moved to Atlanta hence why I ended up getting a medical card for my cervical radiculopathy. Chronic Is something everyone claims to be a class of weed, kinda but nah buddy it was a strain that had its own unique smell and very unique high. But porkchop had the real deal. Pure hydro grown, fat christmas tree shaped nugs so crystally and sticky where 1 gram would stink up an entire classroom..everyone always knew it was me lol. One time I bought an eight from him, left it in my car while I went shopping in the mall and on the way out saw 3 cop cars circling the lot where I parked. Immediately after exiting the mall doors, you could smell the 8th from my car about 500 feet away through the wind. My and my sons mother were like "holy shit yeah they're looking for us, shit its so dank we gotta get tf outta here" So because we had a baby stroller and a child we were the least of suspect and they ignored us, it allowed us to get in the car and leave. But we had to wait until the cops got as far from my car as possible then we quickly jumped in and darted back to the house.... Holy fuck weed back then was so loud. After porkchop left, I've had everything across the board. From bubblegum to master kush to bubba kush to hindu kush, the only thing to ever come close was old school golfball size nugs of sticky dense OG kush or old school Grand Daddy Purple Kush.
This was when the hunt began. After trying so many strains for a while I got tired of people selling me the hype..... I only wanted the Chronic high or og kush or gdp. I smoked bubblegum, strawberry cough, Cinderella 99, purple haze, master kush hindu kush bubba kush nothing matched the Chronic or GDP. I found and settled for some that were similar and close but in contrast to Chronic, it was night and day.
Now although I never found the Chronic again, or Original og kush or original gdp, I settled for what was closest. Hindu kush. Bubba kush for the indicas. Blue dream and sour diesel for the sativas. After years of buying from the shop, I always noticed when crops were seeded the shops would sell them cheaper because of customer complaints. Me being a very analytical smoker, I always noticed the seeded batches were chronic like in high. They were much stronger than the same strain from the same shops that werent seeded. once I had the theory in my head I used it everytime to buy batches and it was 100% on the money everytime. Yes! the yield was less but every seeded batch always produced the chronic high! I've never found any science besides my guessing is that seeding a plant is the actual full complete life cycle of the plant and without doing so you're withilding the full cycle of trichome production. I'm not a scientist just a very aware pothead.... until RECENTLY where I found a podcast of someone speaking to Kyle Kushman saying they had spoken to Dj Short breeder of Flow and blueberry and what dj short said confirmed my theory! Dj short said that if you seed a plant, the potency level goes up because that's where the cycle is actually complete. Bullseye! I'm not gonna say I was right or that this is true but from personal experiences, YES ITS TRUE lol.
My question here is does anybody here know of this or notice it when growing your own and smoking a normal harvest vs. a seeded harvest? According to dj short you don't meet to pollinate the entire plant just 1 branch or a spot, and it would be enough to get the plant through the whole cycle of trichome production and the rest of the plants potency would go up. Now that I'm finally growing just saw this segment last night I will do it with my current grow. Going to pollinate a lower branch of 1 plant, and leave the other unpollinated. I can't wait to report back my results and I hope someone has an answer for my questuon or any insight on the topic.
The segment in discussion I found on Instagram through account @natehammer420 it's the 6th video with thumbnail "the breeder"
