i fed 1/3 recommended gaia green 4-4-4 and 2-8-4 4 weeks into 12/12 and 3 weeks earlier i fed 1/3 gaia green 4-4-4 and a bit of worm castings into it.
now i have big time nute burn.
in gaia green living soil.
as soon as i realized i f**k'd up i flushed the soil.
question is, should i trim off all the burn to a crisp leaves or leave them hoping some of the healthy parts will still produce energy for the buds?
as you can see, i already trimmed some.
the picture looked better on the computer, sorry

This looks more like heat stress. What are you using for a light, How far above your plants is your light.

i'm using mars hydro ts 3000 x2 with the lights about 18" or so above the girls.
temps never go above 26c (79f)
leaf temps are the same
humidity is about 45-50
water PH is at 6.5
top dress dry gaia green amendments
ppfd is 700ish

i'm not saying your wrong, but i can't see heat stress
by all means anyone correct me if i'm wrong

I'm surprised using only 1/3 of the gaia green did this to your plants, are they autos? BEcause autos can get by with just the 4-4-4 the whole cycle to harvest. Raise your lights to 24 inches above the plants

they are purple kush photos
no sign of light burn or stress as my rookie eyes can see, and like i said 700ish ppfd and leaf and room temps seem to be in line.
does light distance matter when i can control intensity?

i had to swap to gaia green living soil because fox farm can't ship to canada anymore for some political crap.
first 2 grows with FFOF turned out fantastic and now i have to learn from start again with new soil!!!
GRRRRRRR
Stick your hand above the plant and feel the light hitting the back of your hand, if it's comfortable your good. I didn't know Gaia Green had they're own soil. Seems like the soil could have carried you the whole grow without having to add anything.

sucks having to switch soil with zero notice, but i fed 1 time at 6 weeks into veg and vegged for 8 weeks before flip.
i guess gaia soil works for longer than advertised.
live and learn i say. sucks that i lost so much potential but, at least i learned and anyone else that reads this can also learn from my f ups

Happens, a lot. If we're not over feeding, we're underfeeding..lol. And what's good for one plant is terrible for another. I'd try it again with what you now know with the same Purple Kush. Run it again as they say.

Gaia soil only sells in Canada. The plant should not get burnt by gaia something else is going on
my first thought was PH lockout but my POS test strips said PH 6.2
i bought i PH tester and it read 8.1
PH in soil shouldn't be an issue but i flushed anyways with 6.5
does gaia soil not buffer PH as good as fox farm maybe?

Did you mix in your nutes properly into the water? Some nutes must be mixed in a certain order. Does Gaia follow a specific order?

Also post pictures of bottom of the plants, their veg under the canopy.

pH of soil is diffrent from pH of water. If your soils pH is that high something is way off in the soil. And the soils pH does matter if your going organic. Which pH tester are you using?

top dressing dry and mixed it in then added water

water PH was that high not the soil. when i flushed the run off was 6.4

6.4 is a good spot for soil. Using some type of soil pH tester would be idea. I'm not sure testing runoff is an accurate way to test the soils pH. Something is off with you soil. Could be the water source too. You mentioned 8.2, sounds like hard tap water.

These lights need to be 30" above the plants 65% power setting for veg. A little closer when flowering but not much.
As for Gaia all purpose 4-4-4 Nitrogen 4 is ok but the phosphorus and potassium percentages are way out of wack for cannabis.
You need to use a 3-1-2 formula for cannabis. Carefully calculate correct nitrogen content. With 3-1-2 the Phosphorus and magnesium will automatically fall in line.
9-3-6
6-2-4
12-4-8
If you want to grow good bud you need to understand your fertilizer and how much your applying.
Hope this helps you. It's not hard just grab a pen and a calculator. Start running numbers until you can just do it.

I'm thinking light burn is probably the problem. I was also thinking there might be too much air flow near the plant, because that can cause leaf tips to turn brown like that.

I doubt it's nutrient burn. I use more Gaia Green than the OP and haven't had that problem. I use All Purpose during vegetation and transition to Power Bloom for flowering a week before I change the light.

Thanks for allowing us upstairs it was cold out there Lol. Nice Vedio posted here thank you for posting.

OMG that is basic math. Measuring my nutes this way is so easy to get my mixed nutes exactly to what they need.
I use 4 syringes 💉 with no sharp needle points a 3ml a 5ml a 10ml and a 15ml makes it easy and very accurate when measuring my nutes.
