I go by something I found online that's pretty accurate. 20% of pot volume. So if dry that'd be 3 gals for a 15 gal pot.Is 5 gallons of water too much for 15 gallon pot? Just getting opinions
Ya I do same for 7 gal... I was thinking 3 to 4 gals... makes sense...doubling 7gal would be 3 gallons....I go by something I found online that's pretty accurate. 20% of pot volume. So if dry that'd be 3 gals for a 15 gal pot.
Its also determined on how much aeration you use etc. My 7 gal pots took 1.5 gals of water till the bottoms got wet
Math seems right I hit my 5 gals with 1 gallon of water each, if watered slow it’ll soak it all up and give about 1/4 cup of runoff within about 1/2 hour of watering, so yeah about 1/5th of pot volume (I like to see that bit just to know I hit got all the way to the bottomYa I do same for 7 gal... Last time I used 3 gals... I found bottom of pot had no roots... great yields for the plant but feel like I shorted myself not getting the full root zone potential....caused by not enough volume of water and dry bottomsI go by something I found online that's pretty accurate. 20% of pot volume. if soil...yes... try 1.5 gallons of water for 15 gallon pots. (that's 10% per volume for organics) Now if your flushing... PROCEED.Is 5 gallons of water too much for 15 gallon pot? Just getting opinions

I've been using 5 gallons with longer days for dry backs... especially when 1st transplanted... been thinking of finally using less volume of water... for more feeding days
We eat tons in our house haha, that’s red pulsane mixes with red choi then broccoli in the back again (wife’s favorite and cheapest to grow haha) we use it in place of lettuce in our houseI’ll see your broccoli and raise you an arugula :))
I’m glad I saw this post. Reminded me that I had some trays to take out of blackout before I left the house for the day!
I just eat the butter, less calories. I use plant based butter as well.Did test run on a brownie recipe before I use the green butter lol. Came out perfect. Space brownies coming tomorrowView attachment 2086471
Ok fine… people wanna see a root ball it’s dried but let’s see what the GP x okie roots look like…Last time I used 3 gals... Few folks top their pots with a mulch for that very reason, so that the feeder roots can climb to the top a little higher. (organics)Ok fine… people wanna see a root ball it’s dried but let’s see what the GP x okie roots look like…
Ok so the screen is the bottom, when looking at these pictures the roots are actually growing up from the bottom of the bucket back twords the top dressing
Regular 5 gallon bucket, this is normally how I have them sitting in the drip treys I keep these racks under the pot so they need sit in the minimal runoff but I know I hit the bottom
Yep I run only promix BX, perlite, gaia green 2-8-4 / 4-4-4, azomite, epsom, gypsum, EWC, and mycos I let the tops dry as they like, I only top dress once in mid flower but they seem to love it, mid flower 2 day dryback, late flower 1-1.5 day dryback 1 gallon of water per 5 gallon bucket per wateringFew folks top their pots with a mulch for that very reason, so that the feeder roots can climb to the top a little higher.
