Jammin on it with a late/early start

Go big or stay home.........that tends to be me, given time, money, and now room....

I'm thinking right from the get go, this will be a failure......

Fortunately for me, I want to know.....truth be told......I need to know.....if I can pull it off.....

I changed from soil to peat/ perlite because of the time it takes to fix issues.....I know there shouldn't be issues, but it is me typing this grow journal....

The thread that they are doing everything not recommended.......great......better than that......

I can't go out of my way to kill plants.......I do it just fine without the non suitable feedings......

So now I'm waiting for the hydotons/clay pebbles to be rinsed and presoaked in a phed solution......

Whoops....this is where my statement above comes to play....

I don't have a ph pen, nor do I plan on getting one before I get my DWC supplies....could take years.....

Then the top dried on the other one.....solo cut for support/ strength.....

Fuckin wish I had more room......it works, but...................

30 minutes later, they still look like they did.....we'll check on um around laterish....haha....

Question: on avg. How long does it take for them to become adjusted to the method? Like should it be a quick notice or does it take a couple days?

We're about to find out.......

I'm thinking it's going to be like any other transplant.......

This is a new one to me......

If they aren't drooping by midnightish, I think they would be in the clear......

Then the other night, checking all the Farms threads, the Kratky Method was mentioned......

Down the 🕳 I went.....

So my odds are slim according to what I've read up on......

But, on the other hand, I watched a time lapsed video, and they went on to say what they would have done differently.....very informative..... a seed in a pot ......sounds right......

Curiosity killed the cat... But satisfaction brought it back! I think you're going to find what you're looking for

It is the satisfaction in knowing the outcome, good or bad.........

My first year of growing should have made me cry........great looking plants, but I fucked up with wpm......and nutes......and .......

I'm all for learning new styles or ways and types of growing " habits " .....

Stem splitting/ drilling.......Does not kill your plants.....

Herms happen.....I'll get blasted for this, but, if it's late flower or only a set or two of nans, pluck um and go.....always inspect and if there's more than a few early in flower, consider chopping....

Train your plants.....grab them by the horns, and be gentle......

I was thinking for the first time, this might work....I was looking for a better container, but size constraints and limitations considered....

Yesterday I found a site that showed them using the floating method.....

I just climbed out of the hole after watching a time lapse of a kratky grow from something like a seed in a pot.....

Then, sorry Farm, I quickly, quickly jumped to trollit^ and the one thread I checked, no one has seen one finished to the end.....

Ha......you said you have lots of casualties under your belt........my no seed popping streak was quite high......it lasted a few weeks.......

So I will attempt this style grow.....start to finish......whether the plant lasts till harvest or 5 days, I'll have it journaled here.....

I think I need a visual to understand lol. I have never grew hydroponics but my friend did. He told me something about not being able to maintain ph in the reservoir so he hand watered instead. This was like 20 years ago but want to ask him .

Before lights out last night, they were drooping a lil.......

And now.....

I think I'll add a touch more feed in the bigger Kratky....the water line is probably a few splashes shy of touching any roots...

But.....and I'm new to Kratky.......the clay pebbles/ hydroton absorb water/nutes, which in turn, stays moist.......

Maybe the roots are getting the moisture they need, more than I'm thinking......

Kiss......I'll leave them be for the time.....keep an eye on them for a few days, then we'll see if the feed level is accurate or even acceptable.....

Experiments take time......can someone find the remote and fast forward for a little bit....? We can rewind it after we check on the progress, or lack there of......

You're prob right to underwater than overwater man. Gonna have to make a note of how long the medium keeps the moisture in. I wonder where I can put a link to this thread where I will never lose it.

The experiment is amazing in and of itself! I'm wanting to journal all your findings for a future try at it. I mean WAAAAY in the future but still.
