Question about curing in jars.. The last plant I harvested has been in jars for 10 days, 1 of them smells like perfect heaven. The other 3 are still going through their awkward phase. They still have great aroma, but sometimes it’s better on a particular burp session than another. And even with those pleasant aromas, they are really nothing like the one outlier jar. What’s up with that? Same treatment, same plant, same moisture content in the jars..

Yeah but I know which jars are from which plants. One plant is split between 4 jars and one of them smells like rich cinnamon butter and has smelled that way for 36 hours. The others smell totally different, and still unrefined. The other 3 very well might smell like that outlier eventually, but it’s confusing why they would be so different at the same phase.

I’m not trying to be a jerk, but is it a new clean jar? Or is it possible that it had cinnamon butter in it previously? Those seal top lids can absorb smells.

No offense at all, it’s a great question!

One, it was a clean jar. Two, I hadn’t considered the lid, which may or may not have been new. That could be the culprit..

Beyond that, I don’t believe I detected those aromas in the first week. So either it’s from the weed itself, or the aromas from a potentially tainted lid were masked to me by the initial pungency of the buds at high moisture.

All that aside, no, definitely have never had cinnamon or butter in any of my mason jars 🤣

I wish I had some cinnamon butter in my fridge. Every once in a while you eat somewhere and the put it on the table with the rolls…..🤤
You might have a portion of the plant in that jar that was closer or further from your light that matured at a different rate than the other branches, I’ve seen it in plants that I don’t train some branches take longer to mature, especially lowers.
That’s all I can pull out of my thinking cap at the moment I’m about to smoke a joint of some really terpy Sluricane. Should probably just go to sleep but I rolled it up and I’m gonna smoke it.
