They are between 30-36 inches from pot. I was hoping for around 4ft plants, might just get there!

I topped the girls with my mix of DTE's 3-3-3, Bio-Fish, and Bio-Live with some ewc and gave them all a full watering

When I was reading through the description of a bunch of land races, some said that even the males threw some trichs.

From what I can gather for selecting males, it's not a regularly common thing, but supposed to be a good indication of a decent males.

From my understanding you want to look for these things:

A male that is not the fastest to show sex or flower
One that doesn't stretch or focus energy on fiber production
Stem rubs, flower density, and trichomes
And hollow stems

He looks promising so far, I'm going to dust a branch from each female (except Mumu, she showed me a ball), and search through the F2s. Only way to truly test what he brings

Another morning, another update! Hope everyone is doing well! Maximus is starting to open his sacks, so I'll be collecting pollen this week. I plan to then dust 1 branch on 3,4, and 5 three times spreading out every 3 days.

The ladies have stretch a couple more inches. They've about doubled in size since my last major top and defol. Just waiting for them to stop, defol, trim a couple orbital sites, and start pollenating. Exciting times!

They have been super vigorous and healthy. No issues at all so far, and even though Greenpoint seeds has some detractors, all good so far for me, and great prices!

Glad to have you along! It's been really difficult to find solid info on how to select males, from what I have gathered, he seems to be checking the boxes... but what do I know? Only way to test will be in the F2 seeds, but I have high hopes for him

2Water's 1 drop of wisdom:

(Brace yourself, this is a long one)
So, alot of people dont like to make or post thier plans, be it for whatever reason, but I'm not doing this for commercial gain, but for discovery and some good cannabis for me and my fam.

There are alot of different ways that I could approach my end goals, but I think growing and getting to know what I want to make is the best bet. In that vein, I have come up with a grow plan for the next 10/11 cycles that will hopefully find me Sundrops, but will also potentially find some other gems along the way.

This will be a long journey, literally years, but I don't plan on quitting growing or consuming cannabis any time soon, so I plan to just enjoy the ride!

But for posterity's sake, and to keep myself accountable, here is my plan for the few years:

Finish MACdawg F1
Grow Purple MAC, pollenate with MD #9
Grow Trainwreck/NL5
Grow Cannatonic CBD, pollenate with TW/NL5
Grow ON Haze/OG Haze x NL2, collect pollen
Grow Shorties seeds, pollenate with Hazes/NL2
Grow (ON Haze/Og Haze x NL2) F2, collect pollen
Grow Chocolate Thai, pollenate with Hazes/NL2 F2
Grow MACdawg F2, collect pollen
Grow TW/NL5 F2, take cuts, pollenate with MD F2 pollen
Run TW/NL5 F2 clones, pollenate with F2 pollen
Grow Dubstep, pollenate with TW/NL5 F2 pollen

A little daunting, no? I feel like the biggest mistake we've seen in the growing community is the desire to get rich quick or strike it big in the industry. We should be looking for cultivars that work for our body chemistries and work to stabilize and preserve those lines. My hypothesis is that we are seeing the mass mutations and instability due to poor "breeding" and seed producing practices.

But here's the beauty of it all, take the time to learn to grow and understand this plant we love so much. Find out what works for you and perfect it, then start looking for the genetics you desire and make your own. A small investment in a lifetime of medication or enjoyment.

2 parts to that, a culture where we value great breeders and reward their work by choosing thier gear; and secondly, creating our own lines as any gardener of veggies or flowers normally do, thus avoiding having to pay more in the future.

Not saying I'm right, or I know it all, it's my thread and these are my thoughts But just wanted to put it out there that I love this community, THCFARMER is the place to be

Pollenation day (first of 3). Sorry, didnt have my phone handy.... too concerned about pollen containment, but I have been collecting pollen and sacks from #9

I bagged up the girls, cutting a hole for 1 branch to poke out. I then used a qtip to dust each bud site. I will do this again on Wednesday, and again next Saturday. Hopefully I can store the pollen correctly for the next use

I'm going to leave them bagged up for an hour and then spray everything down and wait til the next time.

I am too, I "rookied" up the Strawberry Fantasy pollen I tried to collect and it wasn't viable when I tried to dust the Trainwreck. Really impressed with these MACdawg so far, much more vigorous than the MAC I grew first

Did you record that in this thread? I realized I jumped into this thread way late and wanted to catch up so I went through it all last night and thought I read miss hap with the pollen? I was very medicated, so I could just be making shit up in my head hahaha. Either way its the persistence that will prevail!!
