Have a question regarding spots on leaves and would also like some advice on how to maximize my yield. I am growing in 3 gallon and 5 gallon fabric pots using different growing mediums and bought a bag of happy frog. I am using a yitahome 1000 w grow light and a fecida 600 w in a 1.6 x 3 mars hydro grow tent.

Your plants are looking great. I would think those spots are from little water droplets that were left on the leaves while the light was on. Nothing to worry about imo. Is it only a few leaves? I would flip the leaves and check for bugs. And check the soil for critters. But if your bug free I’m then I’m 80% sure it’s just water droplets that magnified the light and burned the leaves. I think plant food can burn them too.

Ok thanks. All good on bugs and critters and I try to avoid getting the food on the leaves as I don't like the spots and residue it leaves.

The fecida is actually only 130 watts, not sure about the other light. Those spots could be an early sign of a deficiency or ph issues causing a nutrient lockout. Make sure you are ph’ing your water before feedings.

This is what I was going off of. What makes you say it's 130w? I'm still new to the lights and everything.
Fecida light
Yitahome light

Edit..these are the lights I am using.

It’s actually only 65 watts, but that’s for the 6000. I thought it was the fecida 600 which is 130 watts, I own the 2000 which is 260 watts, but I only use it vegging now never used it for flowering. I just searched for the 600 on Amazon and it doesn’t appear available anymore. These “manufacturers” really just take a nameless Chinese light and stamp their name on the sides, claim equivalent to, and use that as their number to trick consumers into thinking they are more than what they really are.

And I’m not saying it’s a bad light or anything I’m just letting you know what that light really is.

Yeah I was aware of the actual wattage yes. Seems sufficient so far. My main goal was to keep this as cheap as possible and so far the total cost for lights was like 80 tent 80 and vent system 30 with a 10 fan and 30 in soil

Looking at your other light, I know nothing about it but going off the specs you don’t need that fecida at all, just wasting electricity. It claims to be enough for a 3x3 which is double your tent size so you really shouldn’t need the fecida in there. Next grow you could veg under the fecida and use the other for flower.
(Edited the following) It claims to be a true 1000 watt which is a ton of light for even a 3x3 but that shield might help keep the light tighter but again I don’t know enough about it.

Just trying to keep the ppfd even though out the canopy. I figured it wouldn't hurt and do you think the foot print for flowering is enough for the tent?

Why do you recommend the fecida for vegging? Thanks for the information so far. I was thinking it was overkill myself lol but I wasn't sure. Again just was trying to even out ppfd if possible. Do you think a CO2 fermenting system using yeast sugar and water will help in a small tent like mine?

Yea, it looks like at 12” it claims to be 600+ at the edges, 700-900 is ideal for flowering. Keep it under 1000, do you use the Photone app?

I’m in a 4x2 and from my research co2 is a waste for these smaller tents, I think you’d only need the co2 in a large scale operation. Singing or talking to your plants will produce co2 it’s free and weird and so I do it. But not sure to what extent it helps.

I was using ppfd meter is photone app good? I am using an android and my wife has an iPhone and I was getting very different readings on the iPhone.

For vegging you can use T5s and get good results, they don’t need much light at all. With my fecida I never turn it past 30% in vegging. Keep it under 300 Ppfd first 2-3 weeks then 300-400 Ppfd until a week before flip and swap out my bigger light to get used to the change and slightly increase throughout flowering

Lol already do both hah...I grow vegetables and flowers to so I have a bit of familiarity with plants so this was kinda easy and fun to start doing. How much bud do you think I could yield from these 3 plants? And as far as nutrient lockout how do I prevent that exactly?

Photone is what I use, haven’t tried the one you are using. It’s free for android and 6.00 for iPhones. Make the diffuser using a piece of plain printing paper. The app explains how to make one you can also buy one but the paper works well enough to get dialed in

Ok will do. I also haven't kept very good track of how old the plants are. I think I'm coming up on 45 to 60 days since I planted the seeds. How will I know when to flip to flowering? I haven't topped them yet I have only pruned a few times.

Learn to read the fan leaves its wayyy easier. Keep an eye on them ,make adjustments, the fans will tell you what the plant wants water/light wise. ✌
