those things get rained on while running all the time, often quite heavily, and continue on for many years after.
Guess i should say i dont drown it in water too

, i spray it at the radiator so the evaporation cools the fins.
But yea, maybe not the best advice. I am not experienced at all with ac systems. Thats just what i have to do most afternoons to not be miserable lmao
On mine, thats often hot enough to burn you when its in the sunlight, ive ben doing that pretty much once a day right when i get home from work for like a month now. I did it often back at my first apartment in kc too, because was on floor 3 facing west lmao.
Here soon though, im just going to hang a tarp off the porch and anchor it so the damn thing is in the shade through mid afternoon. Its on a totally exposed western side of the house. Direct sun from 1pm to sun down. Right on the black radiator fins
The guy i bought the house from used to do that too when he lived here. Ill be having a lot of work done on the central system and having the condenser replaced before i remodel the basement anyway. Had to replace the motor and both caps when i moved in. Couple relays at the air pump. Got it working, but its terrible lmao. Here where the humidity shoots upward every mid afternoon during the hottest parts of the day, spraying the radiator is really the only thing you can do to make an AC system do anything more then dehumidify the air, even a good one, if its in the direct sun.
