I think we should hurry up and start. Be done by New Years.

Last we checked @Mikedin was thinking an Aug 1 start date. With 5 months till new years that gives you roughly 150 days of growing.
30 days will be sprouting and seedling
45ish days max for your veg cycle
Between 70-80 days for bloom depending on your strain.

The only issue being we will have to chop and weigh it wet as there will be no time for a dry and cure before Jan 1.

Aug 1st was the plan and these details were also mentioned,
1 week window from start date for germ and sprout
2 week seedling timeline depending on dates set above
4 week veg window

Probably won’t have a finish date, don’t wanna give u fair advantage at harvest, we’ll all splash and follow the timeline

Probably be a 2-3 week window where people are finishing up depending on indica / sativa etc
Just found a bag seed in some ghost train haze. Was planning to run some Cannatonic next, I think the weeds gods are trying to tell me to run that 1gal challenge😉
I’m doing the same (probably) but all bagseeds from 2012 most likely I’ll post up 4-5 and let the group decide my strain only have 1-2 seeds of each so we’ll see what happens!

that’s why I wanna let people finish as needed, some will be doing longer strains some autos etc so I wanna let everyone get time to shine!

this is the current plan, I believe this plant is at around week 3 of veg I’ll have to check some dates again I think I posted them above but she’s near ready to grab a clone and flip soon, just letting her go till clones are availabe then flip to continue the timeline test

Plus that’ll give the ones of us time that are running strains we wanna clone to hold genetics it should give us just enough time to pull small clones before flip these are 2.6l Gaia green buckets they are in

Plant to the far right in the lineup, others are clones

I've got some Ghost Train Haze bag seed, or some of MACdawg F2s I made. That's my plan anyways
Both sound like good options to me, MACdawg more so because I think it's mostly indica if I'm not mistaken.

I have 1 Tropicana Cookies seed that was a freebie with an order awhile back.
I like to do single strains in my tents so that 1 seed has been floating around for awhile so the 1 gallon challenge is a good opportunity to grow it.

I had 2 phenos that I pollenated, the purple Stardawg leaner vegged faster, but yield was less. The other pheno had this great dog shit smell but the male I had favored the purple Stardawg, so we'll see

I’ll be running

12 In House Platinum Kush Breath Remix
10 Black Lime Preserves (Chernobyl Slymer Cut x Blackberry Skittlez)
12 Ohms Obama Runtz x Cherry Pie
2 Ice Cream Cake

All in one gal pots on drippers under 2000w of LED

starting as soon as the black lime preserves show up 🚢

Looks like you have experience with 1 gallon pots!
Hate to say it but registration for this contest is closed, maybe next time 🤣 just kidding

I might be interested in participating in this little event if it happens. I haven't read through all of the replies in this topic, (and I have limited bandwidth and time to do so) but has anyone outlined the general rules for this contest, yet? Like, what will be considered the "start" of it - from the moment you plant a seed? The moment you snip a clone? Or maybe the moment you plant a germinated seed, or plant a rooted clone into said 1 gallon? Finishing could be defined in several different ways, as well as final judgement, such as overall size of plant, end product weight wet or dry, etc.. These are all things to consider. Maybe even have a side contest for best photo, presentation, etc.

As far as a set "finish date" I think in order to keep things fair it might be best to allow plenty of time for strains to finish properly, so maybe not have a certain date, rather just keep an allotted time for veg. Maybe set a final date out far enough that even 14 week strains can finish, for final entries to be submitted?

And to keep things fair as far as end product weight, maybe allow time for drying and weigh ~62% humidity or so just to keep it consistent.

Just a few thoughts, take it or leave it 🤠

well im using one of each of these, fruit spirit fem, og kush, strawberry banana grape & critical orange punch, all were free & never thought i would use 3 of them, guess which one i was going to use....
I'd pop em all... but the lineage on the fruit spirit is calling to me.

I think if I get my act together in time, a Bluecheese or a Blue Dream

Yes we plan to be seed only this run everyone will splash on the date we set (beginning of august giving people time to free up plant count space so I started the topic very early to check intrest…. There’s a lot… it’s a go I said before we will finalize dates at beginning of the month for splash date, seedling time, veg time, flip date, will all be set dates, finish will be when your strain finishes, actual goals, none set in stone yet, it’s a fun run test competition to see how it flows my plan will be to continue it perpetually if interest holds and grows.

Different rules each time etc to keep it challenging.
