ProMix HP is the shit, yo. Easy and foolproof like soil, but better. I like to describe it as sort of a unique growing medium, like not quite soil, not quite hydro, but somewhere in the middle. The "goldilocks" of growing media, in my opinion.

Pretty simple to use and works great in just about every scenario. Especially if you have well water or hard tap water. It doesn't require RO water like coco.
2.8 cuft $50 it better water itself🤣 I'm thinking of switching from coco but I don't have to go ro or even filtered with Master Blend in coco just gotta water water water 5x's a day😉

When I go that route after placing the seed in the hole, I use a led magnifying glass and a pencil with the lead extended to position the seed , saves digging or going in with tweezers.
This is awesome! Yeah I had tweezers in hand and almost moved it around. Hadn’t had my coffee and we were all running out the door for appointments this morning! 😂 But I didnt want it sitting in the bag for the time we were going to be gone.

The Hp up here is $44CDN tax in for the 3.8 cu ft compressed bale, only issue I had was with only one bale, you pretty much needed a jackhammer to break it apart.

It's very easily re-used, too, so don't throw it away when you're done!

Yeah I don't like Fox Farm anymore. It's not the same as it used to be. They depleted their source of nutrients a long time ago.
Idk if it's a region thing or not but my Fox Farm soil is always of quality. I've have yet to get a bad bag in the years I've used it.

I've never tested or adjust PH and I have no issues with the Fox Farm, does the Pro-Mix HP require PH adjustments or do buffers help like in Fox Farm and other soils?

How's drainage? Should perlite be added?

If mine sprout at all, everyone else will be a solid week into veg ffs. Lol I don't usually bother soaking seeds. I just drop them into a peat pellet and keep them wet til I see the bend of the stem starting to poke thru. Usually get a sprout within 5 days, 7 tops. Going out of my comfort zone on this challenge and also trying some new things. As soon as I got a tap poking out I planted the seeds in soil pointing downward and probably too deep, actually. The containers are very tall and narrow. Even a spray or too was too wet. I've resorted to an eye dropper. 🙄 They are staying outside and it's getting quite cool at night. Their little cocoon helps keep them a little warmer at night but not much. This is going to be interesting to say the least.

I fucking did it! I found the solo cup full tent run lol, now to find the solo cup competition… it was a round this time I believe https://www.thcfarmer.com/threads/5x5-corner-to-corner-solo-cup-run.142905/
Jeez, how the hell did he water those?

You can yield over a zip dry from a solo cup for sure. Ive seen it in person. Ive pulled over a half o myself, woulda got more with a sativa.

This one just left the solo cup today. Definitely coulda flowered her in it successfully.

Inspires me to try Sea of Green in my 4x4 👍

No pH adjustments needed, my well water comes out at like 650 ppm and 8.1 pH and I just add my npk nutes accordingly. Never mind the calmag as my water already has mostly calcium, iron and magnesium.

As far as drainage it already has some perlite in it and it works just fine as-is for me, and I mostly grow old school hard pots, and I pack my pots very tightly, too.

I don't let them dry out quite as much as soil between watering/feedings, but I also don't water as frequently as coco. Again kind of a happy in-between. However, if you do let them dry out a little too much, it is much more forgiving than coco. 🤠

He was having issues watering those that's for sure 🤣

If you saw my pic, I posted below that, I was basically using a couple 2 gallon sprayers with the nozzles taken off to water all those hemp starts. There was just enough room to walk and stand between them 🤣 Was like watering plants on a balance beam.

That’s exactly what I was thinking. I have to remove my pots in a 5X5 to get to those rear plants. Granted the ac affinity has multiple entrances but 2 of mine are restricted by walls. The other has the intake fan and soil/ grow tools in the way.

My plants are getting into flower. I have to remove the smaller plants to get into water. The last two times suck my gut in and try to squeeze through my big ass has kinked a bud branch either entering or exiting.

i hear ya i gotta get around that bigass frostette to get in to water the cali blues, and she likes to drink, thy are both drying out a 12 gal bag of all moisture in under 48 hours haha

Looks like #2 is the winner!
Congrats! Should'a let you know I reconsidered. Thanks Sunin. My outdoor grow is freaking me out when I think of next month and the one after.
Besides, IF I set up an indoor grow, it would have to be very secret. Those of you with significant others will understand. LOL

I'm sorry, I can't relate.
My significant other is like, "you bought another tent?!" "Great, now I can smoke even more and make it seem like you never bought anything" 🤣

Same here. My wife is the one who made me quit turning wrenches in 2015 and go back to being a full time grower. 🤣 These days with my health being the shit that it is, she be lookin at my few plants I'm growing now like, "that's all?" 🤣

Between the two of us we go through quite a bit. Like an oz a week minimum. And that's being very conservative.
