When it first came out they said 10 mls a galon. Woah. Major stress....
Joker has it. Never seen any proof it's paclo/cancer causing/etc....just a rolling and building head of steam over the years based on rumor and speculation, not facts.
He also has the correct soil dosage down. Less than 2 mls a gal one time right at flip and it will slow/stop massive stretch and IMO, will help firm the buds up. This dose allows the plant to keep up the trich production at the samepace as bud formation...which at >>higher doses<< than 1-2 ml a gallon it seems as if the plant just can't make resin as fast as it makes bud...causing some strains to take a hit in taste/potency in many people's eyes.
As far as speeding things up....not @ lower doses.... and it's questionable at higher doses. IMO, ***IF*** it speeds it up it's because the plant stalls and stresses...then massively packs on bud as MUCH AS IT CAN out of that stress.
As an example...the first plant I ever did it on was a D-Man "Sunshine Daydream" that normally offered about 4-6 oz from a 2-3 ft plant in soil (5 gal pot). On this grow...with 10mls of
bushmaster (recommended at the time)...the plant STOPPED growing at just under 2 ft where it was flipped...and proceeded to put on golf ball sized "nugs"... red hairs EVERYWHERE...that almost had to be broke up wiith a hammer...
a few folks STILL talk about the bag appeal on those...though it cut the harvest well in 1/2....
go EASY if you use it. BELIEVE that it works and that "less is more"!
