Yo, you still setting up a time lapse? I been scouting the Internet for a zoomed in time lapse of bud development. I'll admit I suck at looking for shit when I'm stoned, which is always, but I can't find a time lapse of a bud coming in from preflower to ripe. Plenty of shots of a plant growing through flower but not HD zoomed in on a bud. Think it's do able?
Yea dude i feel like a good gopro would probably be best for something like that. The camera i have does it weird. Takes a constant 30fps video, and then builds a time lapse from that lol pulls 1 frame from every time frame you enter (mine goes for 1 minute at a time) but REALLY inefficient with storage. I think a good gopro video would be badass but really hard to do because the plants gonna grow as youre trying to get that time lapse lol

Yea i agree i dont think this moisture meter is worth its weight lol il get a new ph meter and post for everyone to see.
I was going to buy a really good one because my pots are too heavy to lift, but I went another direction when I saw the price 🤣 . After transplant and they got their first full medium soak I would take a picture every day at the exact same angle and wait for the leaves to start to droop. If you have both images from yesterday and today, you can skip back and forward between them to look at the leaves and see if they droop. In my 28L pots my plants took 10 days to dry out the first time, then it was 7 days, then 5 days, and now its every 4 days (6 weeks into flower). I over watered in veg, and I didn't want to do it again 🤣 so that's what I did.

This is my first time in living soil, but I couldn't justify spending hundreds of dollars on a good well reviewed moisture meter when I can just look at my leaves every day, take a picture and compare it to the day before.

Yes you're probably right. The buds bounce as flop around.

I actually love that idea lol definitely gonna be using that on top of shoving my finger in the soil lol i cant lift my plant now because of the scrog net i set up, it might break the plant in half lol thatd suck ass!

And yea dude as much as i would LOVE to get some of those more accurate devices, i just dont have the money at the moment. The future, however, is bright 🌞 lol

Yes, BUT i bet if you got some fishing line or something like that to gently tie around some stems, i bet thatd hold the buds still for your idea! I think its a great idea, itd just be a little difficult to do

Also, i just looked around online, if you got a new phone in the last couple years and kept the old phone, you should be able to use the old phone as a time lapse camera as well

Wise advice, using old phones for other purposes. I used to use my old phone solely as a media player for 4 years after I replaced it, got a LOT of extra use out of that phone. Put a HUGE SD card into it and filled it with all my music, so now my regular phone doesn't get drained from listening to music on it.

The light used to be set up all janky like youre saying 😅 but i fixed that, you can see it in the more recent pictures lol however its still just a little tilted, i think that has more to do with the leveling of my house, live in a manufactured home in the mountains lol things never stay still 😅 and i also already lifted the light to the top. I posted a ton of pictures of everything so i totally get not going through and looking at every single one haha but il repost it here too so you can see the current setup.

IF light is the cause, i think its only because i lifted the light up which somehow increased light intensity by a good amount, at least according to those 2 apps i used. So i think i might have just shocked the plant with more light, at least in the center where i think the fan in the middle of the light was displacing the spread of light so the middle wasnt getting as much because the light was too close lol could be wrong, definitely not 100% sure

But the stress only showed up on those 3 leaves, and the problem seems to have resolved since i turned down my light intensity. I havent noticed any more leaves with issues yet, so thats good :) il keep you guys updated though
She looks good!

Difficult, trying to get up close with regular consumer equipment would be a disaster even with 840 and 940nm IR for the night vision, the camera would probably have to be within 2-3” of the bud and would probably cause it to herm I know mine has 9 red LED’s that light up when the camera is active

Might work if you had it like an hour or 2 apart for the shots vs 4-5 minutes like I normally would a stable strain would probably be ok

Bud movement would also be a factor you’d have to be constantly adjusting for height until stretch is over so you wouldn’t be focused on a singular point

That's why I can't find good hd time lapse bud porn trichome development and HD bud swelling

I think theres some kind of equipment out there that can move the camera as the bud grows, but i have no idea how to find that lol

Wide angle HD zoomed in on the area of interest via editing software. But that's expensive shit. Lol. My younger brother is a savvy video editor. I was asking him about it. For the trichomes it would take some good HD equipment I'm told. Someone is going to win awards if they do that. Lol. The moment a trichome clouds on HD time lapse.

@mstrpkl no problem I love trying to help people when I can on this site and on the real DGC. It’s the backing behind the DGC cup in Colorado they created their own social media to put weed onto. Called the real DGC app. Check it out they got good advice there to and genetics from seedsherenow

I just got my new watering system! 😁 getting it set up righmeow. Using the watering system to fill the bottle i used to water the plant with in the past to measure how much water im giving before i actually use it to water my plant. Im gonna make this shit work perfect lol

The app is simple so far. Just have to do some math and figure out how to get my desired anount of water lol which tends to be about 3.5L lately for anyone wondering. I check the underside of my bag and stop watering when that feels wet, goes for about 4-5 days per watering so far.

Shes lookin good guys!

Plants are looking happy and ready to flower!!! Good Job Brother!!

Bro I have almost an identical system but I fill my buckets from an ro system then use a transfer pump to fill my 1 gallon watering jug. It works pretty good for everything being used in 1 gallon increments. I'm all about simple!
At the point in time I was adding in 1L of water it was always a liter of cola. Couldn't get it out of my head.

Nice! I have a distiller at home so i just keep running that and dumping the gallons into the humidifier and the 5 gallon jug now lol gonna be way easier to manage this way. Before this system i was just using 2 separate gallon jugs to hold all my distilled water lol

Ok so its starting to sound like il only be gone for 1 week, and if i started flower cycle TONIGHT, then i would be here for every week of flower except for week 7. Pretty important week as far as iv been able to tell, but i figure since this is my first grow ever maybe i can just harvest slightly early or slightly late and itl still be fine. Il let everyone know what the verdict is today lol

Shes growin insanely fast right now! These pictures should all have time stamps on them, you can see how quickly she grew in about a week. Hopefull they all post in order lol

Here comes the stretch......

I wouldn't worry too much about your being gone. A week is no big deal. When you're in flower there really isn't much to do as most of the training and stuff is done in the veg phase setting up for flower. You've already done that.

What I would do is give them a good watering right before you leave. This should leave only one watering that you might have to have someone come in and do for you before you get back. I'm assuming you're watering every 3 - 4 days?

The day you flip give them a good defoliation. I've noticed when I do it this way it seems the bud sites pop up quicker. I'm sure there is some sort of hormonal signalling thing going on that induces this but I can't tell you what that is. It's just an anectdotal observation on my part after a few tent runs.
